you all forgot in malaysia in 2007 (i think) coulthard was blasting up the field, got caught behind mark webber... Christian Horner; "David, you are faster then mark." coulthard overtakes David coulthard: "Glass to aussie" red bull did the same trick then critised ferrari for it
Every team did it. That's what they put on their drivers contracts. It happened before and it will happen in the future as the fight for important positions against other teams intensifies
Yeah but people don't care if the "championship" isn't being influenced... Few people even remember 1 thing Coulthard or Webber did during the 2007 season because a lot of people only care about the podium runners, hence the lack of outrage.
Vettel was freaking lucky in 2012? His car brock when he was leading in Valencia, his car brock when he was 3rd in Monza, he started from the pits in Abu Dhabi, he got hit in the first lap of Brazil and sent to the back of the pack and you still think Vettel was the lucky one? And stop that better car shit. Senna won all his 3 titles driving for McLaren who at that time was the best cat yet everybody thinks he was the greatest ever.
Well luckily justice happened and Fernando lost the championship ;D...I would have been damn mad if he had won it with this "dirty" win. and now Alonso will most likely leave Ferrari without ever winning championship with them ;D
Massa went offtrack in the start, whereas Alonso broke earlier to keep the car on track. So that´s an illegal overtake for me like they did with Ocon in Abu Dhabi and they´ve put a penalty every time this happens every year. Anyway Alonso lapped half a second faster in Qualy and drove away when they let him pass. Also Red Bull did something worse than team orders in Great Britain to Webber that year and no one complained, we had already seen team orders before with legendary drivers and we still see them today. Not to meantion Felipe was already out of the Championship battle and finished it 108 points behind Fernando, so there is no debate on that decision.
@Alvaro To me it wasnt so much about the team order, but how Alonso tried to "weasel" himself out of ANY of the questions regarding the team order even though the whole world had seen and heard what had just happened (he should have had even the guts and backbone to say something like Felipe did, cause there was no reason trying to hide what had happened, it was plain obvious for everyone who had watched the race) and acting like he deserved that win.... THAT to me was the most disgusting thing about this victory and why I was glad that Alonso lost the championship and never won it with Ferrari. Even MORE ridicilous was in Abu Dhabi how Alonso showed his fist in anger to Petrov, like what the hell, did he expect Petrov to also move out of the way like Massa did? :D Alonso was and still is great talent, but I never, NEVER liked his personality and I atleast won miss him now that he is out of F1.
It's just awfully shameful how the English press went all on to attack Fernando, with questions aimed to making him snap back. Such an utter disappointment that this behaviour is, or was, allowed in British journalism
I think Prost was better than Senna. And I think Vettel and Alonso are at least equals. P.S. Alonso had the same amount of luck in Valencia as Vettel had in Abu Dhabi. It appears Vettel fans say Alonso was lucky in Valencia and Vettel drove skilled in Abu Dhabi whilst Alonso fans say it the other way around. What makes a driver great? That is for everyone to decide for themselves.
either you are 12 years old or i really feel sorry for your parents... Schumacher is the most successful driver of all time, if you ask any top drivers of today, they would say that Senna is the greatest of all time... to be great winning is not enough,to win you just need a good car... its about pushing beyond the limit of the car, overtakes that we won t forget...surely vettel made some great overtake maneuvers this year, but alonso made more of them and more amazing...
(read the one below first) I hope that you are mentally fit to understand what i m trying to explain... Winning everything makes you successful, but it does t make you great... Vettel is more successful than Alonso, but Alonso is greater than Vettel. Gilles Villeneuve hasn t won a single championship, yet he is considered as one of the all time greats...
I feel bad for Massa. Ever since he came back from the accident, and Alonso had taken Kimi's place, Ferrari have been very bad at hiding that they consider him their "lesser" driver, and would rather Alonso get a few more points, then let Felipe have his rightful 1st place. This season he's been doing horrible, and Ferrari ridiculed him in a press release earlier in the year. And after the season he will surely get the boot from Ferrari, and will probably not have a future in F1...
Horner after this race (Germany 2010): "I have to say that is the clearest team order I've ever seen. It will be interesting to see what the stewards make of it because for me it was as clear as 2002, which is why the rule was brought in. It's wrong for the sport. The drivers should have been allowed to race. Massa did the better job." "Rightly or wrongly, we've allowed our guys to race and that is something they have done throughout this year. In Turkey we paid the ultimate price for that, where one retired and the other achieved a lesser result than he should have done. If the rules were different then perhaps we would have addressed that race differently."
Alonso didn't have any reliability problems with the car in 2012. Remember what happened in Valencia? No. Monza? No. What about Abu Dhabi? Of course not. Yeah, Vettel was really lucky!
Poor Seb... He had secured pole position in Hockenheimring and was set to win the 2010 German Grand Prix, only to be overtaken by both Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso on the opening lap... 😢
Lol yeah he have won the championship 3 times, but would he had one if Grosjean didn't crash into Alonso at Spa?;-). And also Alonso was great and better since Vettel had a faster and better car, Vettel was freaking lucky 2012.
If we're really gonna make the argument about who deserved to win because the other guy had a better car, then neither should've won. Hamilton is better than Alonso and Vettel.
oh please the one team that dont do team orders these days are mclaren, they let jenson go flat out and lewis go flat out if they can, If they cant then its tough they cant. Lewis has been told to save fuel a million times, mclaren have stuffed his pitstops up all season, are they giving secret team orders for jenson? No, Lewis is just better than him, end of story. They race fair and thats what we like to see,
@stratdax Oh you think that because they could hear all the radio transmission team orders couldn't exist? This year Vettel proved himself in abu dhabi and interlagos as a strong driver, but hardly comparable to the miracles Alonso did in kuala lumpur and valencia is it? And the number of titles doesn t say it all, Prost has won 1 more championship than Senna, does that mean Prost is greater than Senna ? i don t think so... @CymruAmByth I have no problem with Massa winning a WDC. With the current way F1 has been extremely competitive, he might have a chance. However, he is not equal with Alonso. You have to give the guy who's won championships the benefit of the doubt. That's why I don't have a problem with team orders; benefit the many before the individual...
The Gearbox wasn't OK. Webber said he could see it leaking. That's a little hard to fabricate. Furthermore, if it really was just a gift to Webber, Webber would have been the first to say something about it.
What confuses me the most is why they replaced him with his identical twin with the same name. He might not have suffered a crash in 2009 but he's got no F1 experience on the other hand. Look at all those crashes!

Overused comments fault.
I hated this Grand Prix.
That's the stupidest sentence I've heard all year! Team orders are not allowed for almost 10 years now, since 2003!
Lewis has improved his head much over 2011 (with Valencia being a notable exception). I hope he keeps going brain first till the end of the season.
He definitely kept it going
@CymruAmByth I have no problem with Massa winning a WDC. With the current way F1 has been extremely competitive, he might have a chance. However, he is not equal with Alonso. You have to give the guy who's won championships the benefit of the doubt. That's why I don't have a problem with team orders; benefit the many before the individual...
are you being sarcastic?
The Gearbox wasn't OK.
Webber said he could see it leaking. That's a little hard to fabricate.
Furthermore, if it really was just a gift to Webber, Webber would have been the first to say something about it.
*championship
..or Webber.
What confuses me the most is why they replaced him with his identical twin with the same name. He might not have suffered a crash in 2009 but he's got no F1 experience on the other hand. Look at all those crashes!
