Did a +13 AA last week on my BM. Solod last boss from like 35% because other group mates messed up all the mechanics. Felt so good being able to pull that off (was only possible because of the new talent from 10.0.5 that gives orbs from BoK and RSK). Unfortunately, we missed timing the key by 8 seconds, but damn it felt good.
Thanks! For whatever reason, all the other "Brewmaster" guides always gloss over the stagger/shuffle mechanics and don't explain it to where you really understand it.
I know its an old video, but im rly happy to find that guide❤❤❤ Pretty nice explanation 😊 Im just started right now gearing up my BM Monk ❤ Ty anyways ❤❤
I've recently leveled all tank classes and here's my perspective. Brewmaster def feels the most fluid and agile, I love doing shenanigans with BO Statue and Trans/fer and it's fun kiting around. I don't feel weaker than other tanks but not that much like an actual tank. In high stress situations I sometime lose track of my stagger and there where times (before Dragonflight) where it didn't feel good fighting stagger or slowly losing health all the time. But BM has super good self sustain now and stagger is a fun mechanic. The best and most fun iteration for me was Pandarian Brewmuster though. Today I feel like the spec could consolidate like 2 abilities to reduce button bloat. Other than that it feels fine. If BW where yin the yang would be Blood DK - it's kind of the opposite to BM but I like how actually tanky it feels. While BM's jiggle between purifying and celstial brew Blood has their blood shield(s) but due to the rune system Blood sometimes doesn't feel as fluid and I'd rather have Blood Tab baked in a a passive. So keep on brewing - it's fun! ;-)
The vast majority of damage you take in any content will be physical... On raid bosses, the auto attacks from the boss will be the highest damage you take... Same for dungeons.
Monk also has armor... And massive dodge chance. Much more than Pally gets. Sure it doesn't get block or parry like Pally can get, but they mitigate damage in different ways. :)
This is like one of the best tank guides and intro to brewmaster that helps ppl understand how BM really works

Great explanation... I love playing my brew.
Monks are a lot of fun to play! Interested to see more brewmaster video later and where you take this!
This info is so helpful I mostly play healer/dps and sometimes tanks only tank I find hard to learn is monk so I made a monk just for the challenge

You're not helping my altoholicuism :D
I need a altoholicuism therapist :)
Great intro! Wanna try this spec for elemental storms
Brewmaster is fun asf
this was helpful, thanks
Ok, yeah, you can stagger the physical damage, but what % of most raid boss damage or dungeon damage is physical, opposed to how much is magic?
The vast majority of damage you take in any content will be physical... On raid bosses, the auto attacks from the boss will be the highest damage you take... Same for dungeons.
50% stagger and take another 50% over 10 sec huh... What about the 60% constantly DR from only the armor of warrior? 🤔
This is going to sound dumb but do you have a holy priest video? I understand how to play discipline but holy has always seemed weird to me
Lol I think lots of holy priest thinks otherwise
What 's the name of that staff?
It's one of the appearances for the Brewmaster Legion Artifact Weapon. www.wowhead.com/guide/legion/artifacts/fu-zan-brewmaster-monk
this math is way off...
like. ok you stagger 50% of the dmg.
the paladin reduces the dmg by 60% with just armor as you mentioned.
Monk also has armor... And massive dodge chance. Much more than Pally gets. Sure it doesn't get block or parry like Pally can get, but they mitigate damage in different ways. :)
Enjoy your videos man but cheez u r shouting like crazy at that mic :D
