I agree grace is great. She seems on par with my tastes in movies and always has some positive things to say about movies even if they weren't amazing. She doesn't solely focus on the negative, which I think can be easy to fall into as a critic.

Lupita is cast in the Black Panther as well :/ I know it's almost impossible, but I don't really get it why..Two different studios, 2 different universes, seems totally unnecessary to me, but then again, I don't know shit about film making industry and how it works xD I'd love to see Emily Blunt in the role as well, but that's just cause I'd like Emily in any role, I think she was great in Edge of Tomorrow and would love to see her in another super hero-esque role. Same with Charlize, although I wouldn't like for her to be cast in a villain role, she's done too many of them recently, a hero role would be better.
That's another great choice. I saw someone suggest her for Catwoman recently too which I thought was an interesting/different/creative choice. Much like Lupita, Ruth has very expressive eyes, a specific way of speaking, etc, that would make her great choice to play any one of the cat ladies in the DC universe ;) :D
But the problem with Matt damon is that he has been a lot of flops the bond movie and the china movie but im pretty sure it is still easy for him to get work... hell chris pines has been back to back flops and still get work(hell he is in the new wonder woman movie) and that is jessica point that men can get flop after flop but if women re in one that it her career over

I think Veronica Cale is an excellent choice for a villain because the cold, controlled CEO that was supposed to be Lex Luthor in BvS turned into a twitchy and annoying mess by Jesse Eisenberg. Build the friendship with Dr. Minerva slowly and then turn her into the Cheetah in the third movie. It would be great to see her transition from an ally of WW into one of her most bitter foes.

FYI: For those interested, there's a great Minerva pre-Cheetah story in Superman: American Alien #3 that involves her and (an early 20s) Clark Kent partying together on Bruce Wayne's yacht. The story has quite a bit of humor and shows Clark in a number of situations we rarely/never see him in. It's a completely stand alone story too. Doesn't require any knowledge of American Alien #1 or #2.

In Wonder Woman 2, I think they should bring in Wonder Girl, not for the entire movie but as a small part of the movie. If they want to go the comedic route they HAVE to use Cassandra Sandsmark, but if they want to go a serious route they should use Donna Troy.
Loving your WW coverage Grace! I stopped my House of Cards binge session when I saw you posted this video! Excellent choices all around both for villains and talent. I'm also so happy to hear someone praise Sarah Paulson and Matthew Rhys. They are fantastic actors. Like you, I am torn between Emily and Sarah for Cheetah. Either would be fantastic. I'd also suggest Jude Law, who already has a relationship with WB, for Hades. He just played a villain h in King Arthur, which I haven't seen, but the reviews I've read don't point him out as part of the film's problems. Viggo Mortensen could be an interesting choice too. The gods also allow for casting A list talent in roles that could be recurring in the DCEU, even if they are somewhat minor in the WW movie itself. How I would have loved to have Cate Blanchett play Athena. With her off in the MCU, I think Gillian Anderson would be great in the role. She's killing it on American Gods and was excellent in The Fall. Vera Farmiga is another good choice. Sorry, this was supposed to be about villains! You forgot one great Wonder Woman villain from recent comics: Darkseid's daughter Grail. Having her in the movies would be a great way to introduce more New Gods
Cheetah and Circe are definitely a must, whether in separate films or put together. I also love the other choices you put out Grace. But how's about Doctor Cyber? I know we are just getting a doctor now with Doctor Poison, but I personally like Cyber's story, wanting to steal Wonder Woman's beauty to restore her own. Just a suggestion!
Watching this after 84, I hope they use Circe and make them GREAT. Although I have issues, I like how they made Maxwell Lord very complex and want them to do something similar with Circe.
This week has been the longest week of my life!! Thank you for the continued coverage, I have been waiting for this movie for a long time!! I also agree with Reese not being a good choice, I'm a fan of hers, but she's not a comic book villain.
Cheetah is the most interesting for me at first impression. Whatever villain they choose I feel it needs to be true to her mythology. She has a niche in the hero realm that is all her own and it should be leveraged rather than forcing her to fit in with all of the other heroes. Aquaman has his realm, batman has Gotham, green lantern has space. Full scale global/universal problems is where the justice league fits. The biggest pitfall in team up movies is once you go there you can't go back very easily. After the avengers movies happened all the solo films had team up ensembles.
I hope they use Cheetah in the sequel and go with Circe for a third film. I also wouldn't be opposed to seeing Silver Swam show up at some point. Her name sounds stupid, but her sonic scream is pretty powerful and they could go with the cyber-version of the character if they want to use an updated look for her.
Mads Mikkelsen for Hades💪🏼 He's very manly, has a great physique, remarkable face and omg, he'll make you piss your pants (watch Casino Royal again and especially Hannibal) He pulls of powerful roles with and without long hair and beards, always brings a little boost to the character with his dangerous charme
I never knew how much I wanted a Charlize Theron as Veronica Cale villain until I heard Grace suggest it and now I almost can't picture anyone else doing it if they do go that direction.
Considering Injustice 2 has her, and Flash teased her towards the end of this current season as a member of the most recent iteration of the Suicide Squad (along with Grodd, Cupid, and King Shark), I'd say go with Cheetah, though it might be interesting to have Veronica Kale as a financial backer/tactician to Minerva on her quest to destroy Diana. That way you get 2 villains in one, both of whom have a grudge against Diana. But only if they can pull it off (I'd rather have 1 good villain then 2 passable ones).
Dear Grace!!! Seen the movie opening day. I was just blown away! Usually when I see a movie I liked, as I'm leaving I'm thinking about the parts I liked best. When I left this movie I couldn't do that. I just had this feeling of AWE all over! There wasn't one scene I liked better than another, it was just so ALL Incredible. I WAS AWED!!! Does that make any sense to you? From beginning to end this movie was AWE inspiring!!! This is not only the best DCEU movie. To me this is among THE BEST action movies I've EVER seen! Circe or Hades would be great choices to add more special magic effects. Barbara-Ann can still make appearances though, and then her transformation can be in Wonder Woman 3.

The villains should be Doctor Psycho and Cheetah. I agree that Doctor Psycho shouldn't be like Kevin (a.k.a notPurple Man) from Jessica Jones but Doctor Psycho is such a perfectly contrasting villain for Wonder Woman to fight against (she has physical powers, his powers are mental; she's beautiful/elegant, he's deformed; he's filled with love and compassion, he's filled with hate and spite). And go full Lara Croft vibe for Cheetah and then make he look fantastic as a half Cheetah monster.

Charlize wont be against playing another villain as she seems to really enjoys it and she would be perfect as the woman is beyond intimidating when she wants to be, so she could really look like she poses a threat. Matthew Rhys( i love this man and his work on the americans), has a quiet anger about him, like he is nice and composed but when he loses it its just thrilling and scary good, so he would make a great villain too.
I want to know what Diana's been doing since WWI, and since WW is the first, it would marketing sense to make the second one during WWII (Wonder Woman 2, come on). I see your point though, and one of the things I can imagine Wonder Woman doing, is helping women get a place in society through the 20 th century, but at the same time, it would be a bad idea, because it would take credit for other people's efforts. In any case, I still want to know what happened during the gap. Maybe a more flashback/present story with a villain from the past returning in the present.

I think Rebecca Romijn would be great as a villain here. Any of them, really, but especially Cheetah. She was a fantastic Mystique so we know she can pull off a fight scene, and she certainly looks the part. Or Angelina Jolie, so was very good in Salt. She would make a great Circe.
Michelle Forbes is an amazing Circe for DC Universe Online and she actually looks the part too. Morena Baccarin also played a Circe-like character in Stargate SG-1 as Adria. Those would be my picks for the goddess of sorcery.

Ona more serious note though...i think Patty should consider introducing Cheetah to the public audience i mean like she has been Diana's archenemy for ages now for crying out loud! For much longer than Ares! Circe would be better as main antoganist for next WW movie if there is going to be one! Power-wise Circe is the mightiest enemy Diana ever faced, so it would be wise to reserve her for later! There is another great option for the second movie, that she may consider its Doctor Psycho portrayed by Peter Dinklage! Or they could focus next movie entirely on Themyscira as location to better flesh out amazonians and their relationships with each other! As a villain for that movie any rogue Greek God or Goddess could be picked, which Diana is famous to square off against in the comics! Or it could be Medusa!...Dunno...i kinda wish that Greek Mythology background would be explored much further and brought into the sequel in all its glory! Imagine 2+ hours of colorful epicness set entirely on those magical islands and locations!...I think whatever Patty comes up with for the sequel she will do it justice anyway, so if she decides to pick some modern location - fine by me! For as long as the storyline and plot are as good as in the first movie!...

She'd look great with all the prosthetics and she has the perfect voice too. They both do tbh. Also Naomie Harris I can see as a great Cheetah or Circe. Making Maxwell Lord look like Steve Trevor would be a nice way of making a complex conflict. Having the Justice League or at least Superman and Batman present when Diana meets Maxwell could bring about interesting interactions between the characters. Maybe a little love triangle tease? It would be intriguing. At minimum, you wouldn't have another brunette hero fighting another raven haired mind controller.

I absolutely believe that having Wonder Woman set in the present will show us how Wonder Woman herself is reacting to the feminism movement and other women who shine a bad light on good, hard-working and dedicated women. Like Jessica Chastain. Let's be honest here, Grace, when is she ever NOT offended by anybody? I further agree with you on the point of not casting actresses who would bring down Wonder Woman and what she stands for. Here are my top picks for Wonder Woman villains: Anne Hathaway as Circe (Christopher Nolan's Catwoman becomes Patty Jenkins' Circe?!), Charlize Theron as Veronica Cale (Patty Jenkins' Monster), and finally Emily Blunt as Barbara Ann Minerva/Cheetah (The Devil Wears Prada). I think these three actresses would best represent Wonder Woman's most recognizable enemies. With Circe being a goddess in the DC mythos, who needs another god. There's just something about the idea of Cersei/Lena Headey playing Circe that's so appealing! She was an amazing villain in "Dredd" and I loved her turn as Sarah Connor on TV a few years back. I think casting an Iranian to play a villain for a woman who hails from Israel is..........controversial at the least. It might backfire.
I would really love to see them use Granny Goodness and Big Barda in one of her future films. Maybe not the second film but possibly as a lead up to Darkseid. Have the story be built around the premise of them wanting Wonder Woman to be the leader of the Furies.

In Wonder Woman 2, I think they should bring in Wonder Girl, not for the entire movie but as a small part of the movie. If they want to go the comedic route they HAVE to use Cassandra Sandsmark, but if they want to go a serious route they should use Donna Troy.

Excellent choices all around both for villains and talent. I'm also so happy to hear someone praise Sarah Paulson and Matthew Rhys. They are fantastic actors. Like you, I am torn between Emily and Sarah for Cheetah. Either would be fantastic. I'd also suggest Jude Law, who already has a relationship with WB, for Hades. He just played a villain h in King Arthur, which I haven't seen, but the reviews I've read don't point him out as part of the film's problems. Viggo Mortensen could be an interesting choice too.
The gods also allow for casting A list talent in roles that could be recurring in the DCEU, even if they are somewhat minor in the WW movie itself. How I would have loved to have Cate Blanchett play Athena. With her off in the MCU, I think Gillian Anderson would be great in the role. She's killing it on American Gods and was excellent in The Fall. Vera Farmiga is another good choice. Sorry, this was supposed to be about villains! I just love Greek mythology. 🤓

You forgot one great Wonder Woman villain from recent comics: Darkseid's daughter Grail. Having her in the movies would be a great way to introduce more New Gods
Cheetah and Circe are definitely a must, whether in separate films or put together. I also love the other choices you put out Grace. But how's about Doctor Cyber? I know we are just getting a doctor now with Doctor Poison, but I personally like Cyber's story, wanting to steal Wonder Woman's beauty to restore her own. Just a suggestion!

Watching this after 84, I hope they use Circe and make them GREAT. Although I have issues, I like how they made Maxwell Lord very complex and want them to do something similar with Circe.

Cheetah is the most interesting for me at first impression. Whatever villain they choose I feel it needs to be true to her mythology. She has a niche in the hero realm that is all her own and it should be leveraged rather than forcing her to fit in with all of the other heroes. Aquaman has his realm, batman has Gotham, green lantern has space. Full scale global/universal problems is where the justice league fits. The biggest pitfall in team up movies is once you go there you can't go back very easily. After the avengers movies happened all the solo films had team up ensembles.

I hope they use Cheetah in the sequel and go with Circe for a third film. I also wouldn't be opposed to seeing Silver Swam show up at some point. Her name sounds stupid, but her sonic scream is pretty powerful and they could go with the cyber-version of the character if they want to use an updated look for her.

I never knew how much I wanted a Charlize Theron as Veronica Cale villain until I heard Grace suggest it and now I almost can't picture anyone else doing it if they do go that direction.
Considering Injustice 2 has her, and Flash teased her towards the end of this current season as a member of the most recent iteration of the Suicide Squad (along with Grodd, Cupid, and King Shark), I'd say go with Cheetah, though it might be interesting to have Veronica Kale as a financial backer/tactician to Minerva on her quest to destroy Diana.
That way you get 2 villains in one, both of whom have a grudge against Diana. But only if they can pull it off (I'd rather have 1 good villain then 2 passable ones).

Dear Grace!!! Seen the movie opening day. I was just blown away! Usually when I see a movie I liked, as I'm leaving I'm thinking about the parts I liked best. When I left this movie I couldn't do that. I just had this feeling of AWE all over! There wasn't one scene I liked better than another, it was just so ALL Incredible. I WAS AWED!!! Does that make any sense to you? From beginning to end this movie was AWE inspiring!!! This is not only the best DCEU movie. To me this is among THE BEST action movies I've EVER seen! I love your channel Grace! Take Care.

The villains should be Doctor Psycho and Cheetah. I agree that Doctor Psycho shouldn't be like Kevin (a.k.a notPurple Man) from Jessica Jones but Doctor Psycho is such a perfectly contrasting villain for Wonder Woman to fight against (she has physical powers, his powers are mental; she's beautiful/elegant, he's deformed; he's filled with love and compassion, he's filled with hate and spite). And go full Lara Croft vibe for Cheetah and then make he look fantastic as a half Cheetah monster.
Cheetah is my choice, however her alone is not enough of a threat. Maxwell Lord, Strife, Circe.

This damn savage were cat bitched around SUPERMAN before....she is "as fast as she barriers herself she is" by diana's words so she has logically no limit on speed, her reflexes are greater than wonder woman's herself and ww has better reflexes than superman.... also "her senses comes second to no one" and that sounds badass....and also she has her magic claws that can slice kryptoniams like cheese and can slice even steel easly....cheetah is also very skilled, more skilled than even diana and diana is "the best melee fighter in the entire world", by BATMAN'S words so better than himself, also cheetah is very savage and hungry for flesh and thyrsti for man blood and that sound BADASS

Charlize wont be against playing another villain as she seems to really enjoys it and she would be perfect as the woman is beyond intimidating when she wants to be, so she could really look like she poses a threat. Matthew Rhys( i love this man and his work on the americans), has a quiet anger about him, like he is nice and composed but when he loses it its just thrilling and scary good, so he would make a great villain too.
I love the idea of Mark Rylance as Hades.

I want to know what Diana's been doing since WWI, and since WW is the first, it would marketing sense to make the second one during WWII (Wonder Woman 2, come on). I see your point though, and one of the things I can imagine Wonder Woman doing, is helping women get a place in society through the 20 th century, but at the same time, it would be a bad idea, because it would take credit for other people's efforts. In any case, I still want to know what happened during the gap. Maybe a more flashback/present story with a villain from the past returning in the present.

I think Rebecca Romijn would be great as a villain here. Any of them, really, but especially Cheetah. She was a fantastic Mystique so we know she can pull off a fight scene, and she certainly looks the part. Or Angelina Jolie, so was very good in Salt. She would make a great Circe.
Michelle Forbes is an amazing Circe for DC Universe Online and she actually looks the part too. Morena Baccarin also played a Circe-like character in Stargate SG-1 as Adria. Those would be my picks for the goddess of sorcery.

What about Giganta and Daryl Hannah as casting choice??! Haha...see what i did there? Ona more serious note though...i think Patty should consider introducing Cheetah to the public audience i mean like she has been Diana's archenemy for ages now for crying out loud! For much longer than Ares! Circe would be better as main antoganist for next WW movie if there is going to be one! Power-wise Circe is the mightiest enemy Diana ever faced, so it would be wise to reserve her for later! There is another great option for the second movie, that she may consider its Doctor Psycho portrayed by Peter Dinklage! Or they could focus next movie entirely on Themyscira as location to better flesh out amazonians and their relationships with each other! As a villain for that movie any rogue Greek God or Goddess could be picked, which Diana is famous to square off against in the comics! Or it could be Medusa!...Dunno...i kinda wish that Greek Mythology background would be explored much further and brought into the sequel in all its glory! Imagine 2+ hours of colorful epicness set entirely on those magical islands and locations!...I think whatever Patty comes up with for the sequel she will do it justice anyway, so if she decides to pick some modern location - fine by me! For as long as the storyline and plot are as good as in the first movie!...

Also loving Priyanka or Emily as Cheetah, I wouldn't use Baywatch for a reference for Priyankas acting ability though, she's amazing in Quantico. She'd look great with all the prosthetics and she has the perfect voice too. They both do tbh. Also Naomie Harris I can see as a great Cheetah or Circe. Hey, maybe you should think about having a casting session for different characters every week or month. Would really be interesting!

Making Maxwell Lord look like Steve Trevor would be a nice way of making a complex conflict. Having the Justice League or at least Superman and Batman present when Diana meets Maxwell could bring about interesting interactions between the characters. Maybe a little love triangle tease? It would be intriguing. At minimum, you wouldn't have another brunette hero fighting another raven haired mind controller.

Hey Grace! Richard Feierman here. Great video. I have some thoughts on the sequel of Wonder Woman. First, I agree with you, don't take us back further in time and lets focus on Wonder Woman today. I absolutely believe that having Wonder Woman set in the present will show us how Wonder Woman herself is reacting to the feminism movement and other women who shine a bad light on good, hard-working and dedicated women. Like Jessica Chastain. Let's be honest here, Grace, when is she ever NOT offended by anybody? I further agree with you on the point of not casting actresses who would bring down Wonder Woman and what she stands for. Here are my top picks for Wonder Woman villains: Anne Hathaway as Circe (Christopher Nolan's Catwoman becomes Patty Jenkins' Circe?!), Charlize Theron as Veronica Cale (Patty Jenkins' Monster), and finally Emily Blunt as Barbara Ann Minerva/Cheetah (The Devil Wears Prada). I think these three actresses would best represent Wonder Woman's most recognizable enemies. With Circe being a goddess in the DC mythos, who needs another god. Although I feel the same as you where I did not hate ww at all but am aware of the mistakes they made. I really do hope they bring a lot more action and maybe some darkness to ww3. There's just something about the idea of Cersei/Lena Headey playing Circe that's so appealing! She was an amazing villain in "Dredd" and I loved her turn as Sarah Connor on TV a few years back.
I think casting an Iranian to play a villain for a woman who hails from Israel is..........controversial at the least. It might backfire.

I would really love to see them use Granny Goodness and Big Barda in one of her future films. Maybe not the second film but possibly as a lead up to Darkseid. Have the story be built around the premise of them wanting Wonder Woman to be the leader of the Furies.
