The comparison between AC/DC and The Angels are so familiar it is so scary. Firstly both bands have 5 members, lead singer, bassist, drummer rhythm and lead guitar. Secondly, the rhythm and lead guitarist are both brothers in both bands. Thirdly, both bands started around the same time. Both bands were produced by Vanda & Young (from the easybeats), and yes George Young is(was) the older brother of Malcolm and Angus of AC/DC. Both bands recorded their earlier albums in the same record company studios sometimes at the same time. AC/DC in one studio and The Angels just down the hall. Both lead guitarist are complete opposites of each other. Angus is nonstop motion whereas Rick Brewster was basically motionless most of the time. Oh how the 70's in Sydney was the center of Aussie Pub Rock when you also throw in bands like Cold Chisel, Midnight Oil, Rose Tattoo, Inxs, Dragon, Mental As Anything and many many many other bands as well.

I used to put my old Angels tape in my walkman when I used to run. Their rhythm and energy was great for keeping pace. I lost a lot of weight listening to them lol.

We called them "Pub rock' because there was an amazing tour circuit up the east coast of Australia in the 80s and they usually played in Pubs..Aussie beer drinking venues..was amazing...these guys were hard rock, since they formed post punk. Yet certainly were influenced by guitar punk before it,yet I don't think the angels recognise themselves with punk

Hey mate. Love that you are getting interested in my fav band that I have followed live since 1983. Try listening to these songs to get a full perspective of this great Aussie band - Outcast (Rick Brewster's, lead guitarist favourite song he wrote), Dawn Is Breaking, Wasted Sleepless Nights/Dark Room, Eat City, Shoot It Up, Stand Up, Look the Other Way, Underground, Run for the Shelter, Don't Waste My Time, Man There, Call That Living, Movin On. These songs are on my playlist and they highlight the awesome guitar playing of Rick Brewster. There is also footage on RUclips of their Studio 22 performance. A great performance by the band, probably the last time they were recorded in their best form. Unfortunately the audio has a few quirks in it but it has probably the best live version of Face The Day ever arranged by the band. Exploring the Angels will send you down a wormhole but come up smelling a whole lot better.

My Uncle had electroshock treatment in the early 50's when he was about 24. They say had a religious breakdown and was hearing voices after the passing of his mother. It made him 100 times worse. They didn't know the affects it would have I guess or maybe they did? Either way he was in and out of institutions until his death in 1997. My Mum said he was never the same again after the Electroshock treatment.

This was one of my favourite albums growing up. I stopped half way through and ordered the CD. It's going in my car the minute I get it.

It's in my car and getting thrashed hard. Because I love loud music and live in a share house its the only place I can really thrash the music. Six stacker now contains Dead Kennedy's, Angels, Radio Birdman, SRV, David Bowie, and Bach. A true mix.

Punk philosophy with a but of prog rock in there but in the end in Australia back then you had to have the pub rock thump and groove. Any bullshit would cop a half empty schooner in the head.

Hey Rollen, the background to this song referred to a Premier or leader of one of the Australian states who pretty much ruled unopposed.

Definitely no shortage of the cult of personality going around! That being said, seems many are finally seeing through the PR (public relations- AKA propaganda) those who don't wanna see, just seem to double down harder 🤦🏻‍♂️. 🤷🏻‍♂️, Everyone has their role to play I guess 🙄😏. Good driving tune BTW ❤️‍🔥👊😉👍🚌💨💨💨💨
