Nick dude...Everyone has they’re own opinion, like I have about that film. You can’t just tell me what’s good or not cause you found it boring. My statement still stands despite that. It wasn’t some generic horror film like the trailer showed it to be, whether you found it boring or not.
kirika20 People grieve differently. Some people definitely cry like they’re trying to scream themselves hoarse. It’s all about how you process and make yourself feel better. And no offense, but it seems very close-minded of you to assume that simply because you haven’t observed something, it doesn’t happen.
Because of the upcoming Red Velvet "Cosmic" comeback, I went here to see the trailer and get a bit of the idea. I wanna that this is so good and literally odd from other horror movies I have watched.
A24: we need a new type of horror movie! Ari Aster: What if we do a horror movie but all the horrifying stuff happens in broad daylight? A24: Here's 10 million dollars!
I mean really haven’t we as a human culture been conditioned to be “scared of the dark””?” I don’t know, horror shit happening in the daytime is freakier for me.
@@SafeTripHome33 budget is relative, A24 makes solid movies on average budgets. The $200+ million budget didn't make movies like Transformers and Suicide Squad good for example.
@@everose4886 so? If they made a judgement about the quality of the film this would be true but from the trailer they are saying the cinematography looks good
I read the leaked script and although I won’t spoil it I will say that hereditary is scarier but midsommar is more disturbing. What I mean by that is hereditary had the demonic and haunting elements that invoked fear, whereas this one has more violent scenes that will make you look away from the screen and make you sick to your stomach.
Andres Hernandez but don’t forget that the script isn’t everything. Natalie Portman thought that Black Swan was a ballerina documentary until AFTER she saw the finished product. She didn’t even know while filming!
I adored the movie but can we talk about how masterful this trailer alone is? How excellently they provided enough information to give you the premise and some of the thriller elements of the film without giving anything away? The way they blended the clips in with the music? I keep coming back to watch the trailer just because the breathing + violin part is such a bop. And, after seeing the movie, being able to watch all the clips flashing through at the end that inexplicably unsettled you when you first watched the trailer and now make sense with context and still unsettle you? Sorry I'm just popping off but I'm so glad this movie and trailer exist
This movie was INSANE... and the camera angles were amazing. I got so much anxiety watching it especially with the music. That cliff scene traumatized me for a good 30 min though. wasn't expecting it to straight up show the impact of their heads like that lol
Bloth Sear I haven’t watched it but I read the leaked script. A24’s horror films never struck me as “scary.” I see them more as artistically disturbing. Midsommar, in my opinion, is just as disturbing, but more gratuitously violent than Hereditary or The Witch. That being said, it’s my favorite work from Ari Aster (so far).
see!!! you don't need dark visuals, dark atmospheres, dark skies, dark footage and completely dark, black, faded reel, unwatchable films... even summertime movies can be bone chilling.
Hall Of The Vardy the new one is dark, i agree; but the old one was just pure daylight horror. And being a super horror fan, I love watching movies that mess you up in broad daylight. I mean, jump scares and darkness scares everyone, its way too common and lame.

Its Wildfire awesome. All that said, it is MIDSOMMAR that will be the theatrical experience of 2019.
Florence Pugh didn't get enough credit for her ability to emote in this film. She is great at portraying someone trying to conceal her depression as well as stand up for herself in the face of an uncaring partner, trying to find a balancing act between doing that and not pushing him away. There is a lot of depth to the characters in this film that I don't see in many films.

Whoever makes the trailers for A24 movies needs a pay raise and fast. They are doing a good job
Jonathan Mulondo eh idk. They made Hole in the Ground look generic somehow when that’s one of the best horror films I’ve seen recently.
Travis_Redfern yeah but the hereditary trailer was fantastic and this is just as good
@@travis_redfern6771 I think you meant 'drama' film..horror never entered that picture..one of the most boring un-horror flicks 'labeled' horror that i've ever seen, and i've seen alot. They could of threw a cat at the screen sometime..i would of at least gotten a cheap jump scare out of that whole 90 minutes that i'll never get back.THIS 'Hole In The Ground' flick is A24's absolute worst movie that they ever distributed.Andrew Garfield's new 'Under The Silver Lake' from A24 is their next worst one..it's 2 hours you'll never get back either..just trash.I'll still stick with A24 ..where 'originality' exists.
Nick dude...Everyone has they’re own opinion, like I have about that film. You can’t just tell me what’s good or not cause you found it boring. My statement still stands despite that. It wasn’t some generic horror film like the trailer showed it to be, whether you found it boring or not.
I felt like the last trailer for Midsommar was a lot better. This one spends the first third of the trailer giving way too many details for my taste.
Every grief of that woman is undeniably without a doubt convincing.
She's a solid actress.
She’s a good actress.
She's Florence Pugh
Nor for me, I cringed at her horrible acting. She just screamed with no emotion. I have never seen anyone cry like that, full screaming.
kirika20 People grieve differently. Some people definitely cry like they’re trying to scream themselves hoarse. It’s all about how you process and make yourself feel better. And no offense, but it seems very close-minded of you to assume that simply because you haven’t observed something, it doesn’t happen.

A24: we need a new type of horror movie!
Ari Aster: What if we do a horror movie but all the horrifying stuff happens in broad daylight?
A24: Here's 10 million dollars!
exactly sad but true.
Are you implying the budget for this movie isnt high enough to execute the idea of it properly ?
I mean really haven’t we as a human culture been conditioned to be “scared of the dark””?” I don’t know, horror shit happening in the daytime is freakier for me.
@@SafeTripHome33 budget is relative, A24 makes solid movies on average budgets. The $200+ million budget didn't make movies like Transformers and Suicide Squad good for example.

Me: Will this be scarier than Hereditary?
Ari Aster: I was most excited for you to come
I read the leaked script and although I won’t spoil it I will say that hereditary is scarier but midsommar is more disturbing. What I mean by that is hereditary had the demonic and haunting elements that invoked fear, whereas this one has more violent scenes that will make you look away from the screen and make you sick to your stomach.
That's a shame. That's the idea I got from the trailers. I guess I'll still go see it, maybe.

Very well put.

This movie was INSANE... and the camera angles were amazing. I got so much anxiety watching it especially with the music. That cliff scene traumatized me for a good 30 min though. wasn't expecting it to straight up show the impact of their heads like that lol
Critics: Hereditary is the scariest movie since The Exorcist!
Ari Aster to Ari Aster: Hold my beer.
@gyuri16 Of course.
*Hold my head
Guarantee this won’t be scarier than hereditary or witch.
Bloth Sear have you seen it ?
Bloth Sear I haven’t watched it but I read the leaked script. A24’s horror films never struck me as “scary.” I see them more as artistically disturbing. Midsommar, in my opinion, is just as disturbing, but more gratuitously violent than Hereditary or The Witch. That being said, it’s my favorite work from Ari Aster (so far).
Is no one gonna talk about the violins? I mean, yeah, sure, the movie looks scary, but the violins just made it go from 70 to 300 REAL QUICK.

Midsommar is a masterpiece, one of the greatest films of all time.
You need to be totally drunk or blind not to appreciate the classical cosmic horror, the symetry of the stages in the background, the colors and contrasts used in the montage, the absolute minimum of the background story to comprehend the main topic, the climate of scenes, the landscape used in this movie. You can easily see the the director took a lot of effort and energy in composing this masterpiece called, Midsommar
also forgot to mention a lot of stuff, but the music needs to be mentioned and appreciated
