      Do you have a guide for using Einstar software to position your scan in space, and use some of the features?

    • @ProductDesignOnline
      @ProductDesignOnline  11 месяцев назад

      @@andyh8239 I don't. The Einstar software is the one piece of the puzzle that is really frustrating, honestly. I love their hardware, but the software leaves a lot to be desired.

      @@ProductDesignOnline I agree. A lot of reviewers suggest otherwise, but it seems clunkier than it should be.
      1) New Project Group behavior seems odd to me.
      I would expect the app to instead ask for a default working folder, and save as filename at the end.
      2) Once you choose your scan settings it seems like there is no going back without exit / relaunch.
      3) Positioning should be as simple as rotating the object, and define as Front. -or- draw 3 points to establish the front plane, and rotate.
      Instead it has you go to the measure section and do something similar, but less intuitive and more time consuming.
      Once in fusion, alignment doesnt seem much better. Should be as simple as plane from 3 points, move mesh from plane to plane, then rotate from a point.

      I havent tried to align (group) multiple scans within Einscan yet but thats the next thing to play around with.

    Really like the dental models. Right know I send them to my implant company to scan and turn into stl’ s for guided implant stents. I’m an old dinosaur and really love this. May buy one and play with it. Did the iPhone thing and wasn’t happy with result, though is was a great learning exercise. BTW, I now have 5 printers and give prints away to my patients and they love them! Keep it up Kevin

    the thin black scanner at 00:50, the bust model, and the black turntable all look like Revopoint products. Interesting their line of scanners (POP, POP2, Mini, and Range) were not mentioned herein.

      Good eye 🙂
      I do have a Revopoint POP 2, but I don't recommend it anymore because the software is beyond frustrating and they haven't updated it. It's very bad at tracking.
      If someone wants to scan only small items then it can still be a decent scanner for the price. Just be prepared to curse at the software 😅

      @@ProductDesignOnline i have a mini and agree about the frustrations. I keep meaning to try again with Revoscan 5 app - the demos and videos online look soooo much better than my earlier experiences. Edit: I just noticed that Windows Revoscan V5.0.7 was Updated 2023-05-26 (yesterday)

    Cloud processing for photogrammetry? Meshroom is free and local, i use Kiri engine which is cloud based, but even with pro, it's limited to 200 pictures..

    Amazing videos! Would love a breakdown of 3d scanners on the market and the one you suggest or is it the einstar?

    • @ProductDesignOnline
      @ProductDesignOnline  Год назад +1

      Not necessarily the Einstar. Really depends on needs, if computer OS is a concern (i.e. Einstar is Windows only), and typical projects.
      What do you plan to 3D scan?

      @@WorldLeadersPlayground The Revopoint POP scanner or 3DMaker Pro would work for those use cases and be about half the price of the Einstar. The key with your projects will be using one of the 3D scanner sprays, otherwise the light will reflect on the glass and mess with the scan results.

      It sounds like a joke but foot powder works really really well. As long as it’s something that you can wash after.

      vision miner sells scan spray that evaporates after several hours leaving no residue to clean up. Kind of spendy though.
