Beautiful car Luke, those paddle shifts are a bit loud also mate! We love ALL the cars you bring us Luke, along with that breathtaking scenery! I really love how you have your, "coffee runs" and I think you should make that your signature at the end of every video! Well done for another week Luke! Love from Texas!! 💚
@@carswithluke how long does it normally take to establish a connection to a dealer until your are able to drive, record/doc the drive to production is finished and you upload all those stunning videos we all take for given - which im very humble for and glad that is has become a way of living for you:)
If you have the XL seats (which most of the cars do), they rub against the center console tunnel. Wedge a piece of cloth in between the seat and the tunnel and it's completely quiet.
Your videos are clearly an asset to your friend who owns the dealership and we all encourage him to continue to permit you access to such a wonderful array of autos. Drove one of these hard back in June around Europe and it drives so well. It's a really good driving experience outside of the intermittent hybrid errors but we did do a rally across 7 countries.

Yessss love a 296 but a Pista is the same money now… or a 992 RS. Would appreciate your view Luke as you’ve driven all of them. I borrowed a 296 for a week and have a Lusso and 600LT spider. Decisions!
We have to see you in that TDF! Daniel, be a lad, and let Luke take her for a spin... I mean a sensible drive! :D As for the 296, the ride seems surprisingly rough, or is that just your camera mount shaking?
I don’t think this current era in cars will be looked at favourably in the future. Manufacturers in many cases alienated their customer base to cater to demand in the far east, now that’s taken a dive and sales have dropped massively most are in trouble.
Spot on. Brands like Ferrari alienate the customer bases they were built on. If it continues, they will find themselves suffering from Aston Martin levels of depreciation.
@ bmw are also guilty with their huge shift in design which was met with negativity from its core customer base and the response to that was petty tweets like “okay boomer”. Good luck in having returning customers
It’s a really good car, no doubt about it. Every person that has driven one will confirm it. Yet at the same time, most owners I know who got one, are desperate to get out of it. Battery warranty and related problems seem to be real! Plus there are many better Ferrari options out there. It’s not the greatest. I would prefer a late F8 Tributo Spider V8 over a 296 as a long term keeper.
I've discovered the same thing. See SO many of these sitting in the used car market. I think on paper, people read about this thing having hypercar performance, good fuel economy, a "picollo" V12 yada yada. Then once you own the car, you realize it's a V6 Ferrari with a bad user interface and a lot of problems arising from hybrid technology. It's not giving you the feeling you should have from owning a Ferrari.
I am considering one, I like the sound and that it's not as mad (dangerous) as the 812 but not as boring as the V8 turboes. I drove 488 and the engine felt a bit unexciting, this seems more lively. BUT the ride on this video looks very harsh. Now I'm afraid it would break my back lol.
Can’t believe it’s legal to drive it on summer tires at 3C° in Switzerland. In my country it is obligatory to have winter tyres on all wheels from October 15th
Yeah it’s leah here (not on snow) the issue is if you have an accident then the insurance company could argue not to pay so generally I try not to do it, it was around 4c lower there than where I collected the car sadly.
“A really nice experience “……love the brutal realism and honesty if this statement. Ferrari has gone sterile with this car and it’s def not for the better.
I had the 296 GTS assetto fiorano and I found the car ironically too fast to enjoy in legal roads, 2 seconds full throttle and you instantly need to hardly brake to stay legal... Assetto Fiorano I believe has some hacks on the turbo intakes and the turbo pressure outtake which reminded Sometimes on old Quattro days... A hell of a car but no hybrids for me. 🎉
Balls of steel Luke driving with summer tires during this time of the year. Not a fan of these hybrid super cars. Give me an F430 over it any given day.
Is that what it sounds like after 5km? Rattles and squeaks. I've never driven one, so honest question? How much of a function of that is road noise and rough roads vs. build quality?
It's the most exciting mid engined Ferrari since the 458. I didn't really like the character of the V8 biturbos (488 and F8). That said, you could've driven by my house a little more reasonably. 😅 That thing's surprisingly loud for a 2022 car. And it sounds good too, much better than the V8 biturbo in my opinion.
Bro, you totally get my dream cars! Out of these-GTB, 765LT, 720S, GT3 RS, Turbo S, SVJ, and Huracán-which one do you think is the best? If you had the money to buy one, which one would you go for? I was thinking it would make a great video idea to rank them from S-tier to C-tier and keep updating the list after every coffee run video. It’d be an awesome way to revisit and refine the rankings, especially since these are the cars I have on my list for when I finally decide to get a supercar. (ofc buying it on second market hhh)
How tall are you? That squeaking would drive me insane. I suppose with the different seats it would be even more snug as they’re thicker than the buckets.
Dear Mr. Luke, I need your help 😊. Let’s talk about weight. Ferrari defines the (kerb) weight of the 296GTB at 1470kg. The weight on the registration-papers ( Fahrzeugschein) says: “empty weight “ : 1725kg / “ready to run weight” : 1825kg. These are huge difference’s. But what is the truth? You are testing a lot of sports cars in especially the mountains. So, the weight / power ratio is very important. Is it possible for you to weight the cars you are testing ? Maybe DTM SportsCars AG is able to weight this 296GTB ???
Yes good point, I think about this often. See so many times now brands like Ferrari stating “kerb weight” but then it’s much heavier. I’m going to see if I can find a car scales for future videos to find the truth.
Ferrari should offer one other option of this absolutely gorgeous masterpiece design with no electric motors - just the V6 Twin Turbo. Who cares if it drops 100-150 bhp. That thing is still a rocket. And I can guarantee it will sell even more and will have better intrinsic investment value. It won't be much slower as it will be lighter too.
how was somebody paying nearly half a million for a 296?! I mean it's a nice spec but the 296 doesn't seem like a 400k supercar. didn't know the pricing before this video but I thought 296's generally sell between 250 to 300k bc that's what they look like imo...

The ‘problem’ isn’t the turbo hybrid V6 power unit, the problem is the capacitive touch-only dash and steering wheel controls.
They’re laggy, counter-intuitive, buggy and, in many instances, illogical.
It’s a cabin HMI similar to a mk8 VW Golf. In a Ferrari.
Meanwhile, Aston, Bentley, Pagani, Porsche and Bugatti, et al, all use physical switchgear for frequently used commands.
