Infinite Painter is really good. Very good for the price, too, as a one time payment. I also like Clip Studio Paint, but it is subscription based. I also have used Ibis Paint X. I have the Samsung tab S8 Plus, which is big enough for most things. I think the Ultra is the best way to go for painting and for Clip Studio Paint (it has a lot of UI elements that need space, since it is more or less a direct port of the desktop application).
How are you liking the Ultra now? I caved and upgraded to the S9 Ultra since they give hefty trade-in values right now. I figured out how to cleanup the CSP UI to be more minimal. The advantage I'm looking forward to is having all the same features on the tablet and the desktop. @@BasementPicasso
@@markanthonyart Nice one. Welcome to the S9 Ultra club. Yeah - I am really pleased with it. Still mainly focused on Infinite Painter. Had a brief look at Ibis Paint but prefer IP. I like the Samsung matte surface and the Noris digital jumbo pen combo - it has a nice feel overall. I think the latest CSP has a simple UI toggle - not had a look yet, but I think I have a demo so will get round to it eventually.
@@BasementPicasso It literally arrived before you replied and it's transferring from my old tablet now. I will be looking for a screen protector soon. Does the pen pressure or tilt work ok with a screen film? I think CSP and Samsung have a partnership of some sorts. There is support for the pen button mapping and also the Air gestures with the pen. Super handy to hover click, click, or double click for various shortcuts.
I always enjoy your detailed videos and look forward to seeing more of them. I have never experienced Ipad because I have allways been happy with my Samsung products. I have not tried Infinite painter but I will soon after watching your video. I have taken a different approach to selecting my apps and hardware. I initially started with the Samsung Tab S7+ but shortly after discovered Rebelle that I could only use on my desktop. Seeking a better way to use Rebelle I purchased the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 that allows me to use Rebelle and all other Windows apps. Sometimes I would also use an App called SuperDisplay that mirrors the Galaxy Book onto the S7+ very well. I have always prefered sketching and painting on a visual display but no matter what display I used I developed a sore back (a sense of a huntchback after hours of painting) . Eventually I setteled on dedicating my painting time to using Rebelle and raising my Galaxy Book to eye level and using my old Wacom Intuous Pro which took some getting used to and well worth it I fiound this to be the best solution for me and my back.
Thanks for feedback. Most kind. I am keeping my eyes open for an android equivalent of Astropad studio - that let me use Rebelle on the iPad. But equally I really like Infinite Painter on the Ultra, so I may just stick with that for a while :-)
@@BasementPicasso SuperDisplay works pretty great for using my tab s8 with Rebelle :) Still trying to get the tilt figured out, but new to it all at the moment
@@Aurora_Trivialis Fantastic, Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately Windows had a complete meltdown at the first attempt (complete re-install 😞), But I think that was a windows / display port issue! Have tried it again after the re-install and it looks pretty impressive. For me, with rebelle 7 I have been able to get pressure, rotation & tilt working - plus touch to pan & rotate, so very impressed!! Thank you for the suggestion - I think I will do a video on this at some point.
My first goal travelling using, im courius about the size and portability big size is awesome but in plane and small seat spaces can be trouble with ultra. Do u suggest plus or ultra?
Yeah, I can see why the plus might be better suited. The Ultra, with my Samsung matt screen protector, measures 327mm by 217 mm. It might be worth cutting a bit of card to that size & see how it feels & whether it fits in your bags etc. Hope that helps
Was debating for a long time what to get for my dad. iPad Pro 11 inch or tab s9+. Even the tab s9 ultra comes in cheaper than iPad Pro 11 inch with LCD display. Since all of us in the family has been in the Samsung ecosystem since a long time, ended up buying the iPad Pro today. Have a slight sense of buyer’s remorse but I think it should serve my dad well. But he’s not a painter like you, so it should be fine.
I was thinking of getting an iPad but I was also looking into Samsung's tablets. Everyone says the apple pencil feels great and that Samsung's isn't as good. I've never tried an iPad. Is the Samsung's pencil better or does it feel just as good? The next iPad is supposed to come out Christmas of next year or before it's going to really like a 14 inch screen well according to the rumors anyways.
I was fully expecting Apple to announce a larger iPad the day after I bought the Samsung !! :-) Will be interesting to see if they eventually do. The Apple pencil is extremely good, but it is still improved with various combinations of tips and screen protectors. The Samsung pens are almost as good. My combination just now is the Ultra S9, the Samsung matte screen protector & the Staedtler Norris Digital Jumbo pen. The tip feels finer and more accurate - it is as good as the best ipad experience. Hope that helps

Love the video. As an ipad pro primary user, I tested this out the last month. Samsung gets better and better each generation.
