I thought it was going to run the first time you span it up with air! For the bearings, try to get or make 'full complement' bearings - these have no cage. The centrifugal force can destroy the bearing cage, if it runs, in any case.
I think it dragged because the turbine got hot and expanded not because of the bearing, although the bearings need changing as well. Bearings without a cage and more balls are popular with diy jet engines. You can also add a belmouth inlet this will reduce losses
Cageless bearings, also fuel injection direction could be opposite to airflow in the engine to allow for better mixing. This would possibly make it run.
the flame combustion is too long, put a restrictor on the intake until it is confined in the comustion chamber, there is to much flow for the lenght of the combustio chamber and the full temp occures outside of the chamber... you could also redesign the holes in the chamber. The calculations are right but the flame is too long. It occures to a Russian guy with a small turbine, he restrict the inlet and it worked
Use ceramic bearings. Or if you're really smart, air bearings. Also use a leaf blower for starting as it won't imped the initial spool up the way a direct drive starter does.
you guys look like your internal turbine temp is super high and getting hot starts. It might help if you let the rpms get high enough, and then introduce the fuel.
I've gathered all the required material to build a turbo jet engine. But, what i'm lacking is stainless steel tubes to build sleeves to cover vapourizing tubes. I was planning to use Copper Tubes as sleeves, is copper a best choice as an alternative solution to use as sleeves ? Guy's if have any idea, would be great if shared.
Awesome project! All my life I wanted to do something like this and how I can see it come to fruition through your hard work. Well done, mate!

he has to modify the bearings then it works
Maybe it would be good to integrate a roller bearing which supports the shaft?
@@Michael0905 He can modify the bearing and it's good.

How about taking a step further and making an AXIAL compressor.

he needs to make one of these like mine I'm making.
Would be really nice, somedays there hopefully will be a scale build of a jumo 004 haha
But I cant wait to see this one running!
@@Michael0905 Williams F-107 is also cool, but all of them were destroyed intentionally by government

Probably, You can get start the jet engine in the future! Just you should make all calculation! I believe in you!
I think the issue is with the diffuser design, I think you need more compression
that's right he has several problems mainly with the stator exhaust diffuser and bearings
Cageless bearings, also fuel injection direction could be opposite to airflow in the engine to allow for better mixing. This would possibly make it run.

Get start it finally!

Did you thermal expansion calculations for the housing and turbine? Should give you a rough idea of what clearances you need.
Get start it in the end!
Wow ! Wunderschön !
Intake velocity, and you need new design of turbine and ngv
lu keren bang

try using closed ceramic bearing good days :)
Would be cool if you'd make a video about preliminary calculations of a jet engine.
there is a paper published on it search in all the video description
Bearing problem?
You need a bigger compressor...Inlet to small!!. Need more air true the turbine..
Work this je may supporting only to very high frequency of RPM.

It could maybe work but copper would burn away in the hot environment
If you want a persistent jet engine you need stainless steel. There are 1500 centi degrees in the primary area of the combustion zone.
Yeah it goes without saying you'll need heat and fire resistant components for a jet engine lol.

You need thrust ball bearings.
