Aegon is in this situation because he acted wrongly. If he was sober and was strategic, it wouldn’t happen. As Aemond said, challenging Maelys was silly. Even if Aemond wouldn’t burn him Aegon would eventually die in this battle without Aemond’s help.

He didn't know there was going to be a large dragon there waiting for them. If they had just told him about the plan he wouldn't have gone to Rook's Rest. As simple as that. A lot of the bad decisions that Aegon has made is because his family constantly puts him down when there is no need to. He fired Otto on the day his son died because he mindlessly called him 'weak' at the council table where Aegon was having a mental breakdown over his son. They can't control him because he is uncontrollable, they can't do it because they can't handle their own dysfunctionalities. Aegon is easily controllable if you get in his good skin.

ngl, i feel like s2 aemond is extremely different than how i interpreted aemond from s1. i'd assume he would never ask halaena to go into battle, he wouldn't treat alicent this harshly, and wouldn't betray his brother. he might hate aegon but i didn't think he'd actually try to kill him, thought that one of his biggest traits is loyalty to his family despite the misery he might have gone through by them.
I think the change happens because his brother becomes king. He is supposed to be envious and in reality this would cause anybody to change and lash out. Not justifying just my interpretation.
I mean, S1 Aemond shows no loyalty. Just being a true Targaryen and "dutiful". We know Aegon was cruel to him, we know he doesn't think much of his mother in terms of authority or voice of reason.
This is perfect. In season 1 he knew how a dutiful prince would act, war allowed him to change what he saw as his duty. This is a story about how war changes the world and it's people.

I wish she had taken the clemency her big sister offered in the books. I feel like the blacks could have helped her with her visions. The greens have dragons, but they don’t understand them like the blacks do. Also she and her kids wouldn’t have been in Kings Landing for the botched assassination so both of the twins would still be alive. If only she’d fled on Dreamfyre. I don’t know why she stays her family never shows her any warmth. Alicent tries but never puts her whole heart into it. The strong boys were kind to her and she would have fit right in with Daemon’s daughters. I get that having a character like her makes the story more impactful, but forgive me for wanting for my girl ❤
Read the books, Rhaenyra literally never cared about them. She literally put a bounty on Maelor that caused him to be torn apart by a mob. He was 2 when he died

But she, being a visionar, could see Aimond's death and committed suicide.

I think in a way, he accepted reaynera as the heir for so long, and he knew his brother was unworthy anyway, but to see the throne so easily robbed, he just decided fuck it, if not her, why not me, cuz aegon sure as fuck isn't up to task.

You don't know, because alot of stuff that has been done was not in the books, because we wouldn't have really seen Helaena, cuz she wouldn't be acting like she's acting. What a waste of a dragon on her, tbh. I like Helaena, but Rhaena has always wanted a dragon and we’ve never seen Helaena so much as ride hers. You can ride your dragon and not harm anyone. How depressing for her dragon to live completely alone never seeing its rider.
You all need to understand that dreamfyre is breeder dragon , she is the mother of dragons as shown in Got , she’s not a warrior dragon .. if she went to war and died then the whole line of dragons will end with her
