Wonderful fern vidio, its as if walking around the woods. And I never knew ferns had rooting stems. Learn something new every day.

Thank You for Your excellent videos!
I grow many ferns in my garden in Vancouver, Canada. And I was happy to see all the NZ species, having spent 9 months in Christchurch.
I visited Tresco when I turned 21. It's hight time for a return trip, perhaps for my 51st birthday in 3 years 😁
Are you considering making a video on palm tree species grown at Tresco? Limited to Trachycarpus and Chamaerops locally, I'd love to see the palms present at Tresco.
    Cheers!

Thank you so much! Wow, what a place to spend 9 months. I really hope to go to NZ one day. Such an incredible array of ferns and plants in general.
You should definitely try to get over, I bet a lot has changed since your last visit. There was the big freeze in ‘87 and a huge storm in ‘90, the combination of which completely decimated much of the collection so it’ll be great for you to see how it’s come along since then.
Great suggestion! I was actually planning on doing more episodes including an episode on palms as well as weeds/self-seeders, the eucalyptus field and iconic trees all on top of the monthly recap vids. It’s just a case of finding the time!

Exciting! Weeds and self-seeders are a super interesting subject. Especially as some originally desirable plants escape from cultivation. At Tresco, the whole archipelago, and just about anywhere else globally, humans, leading modern day plant vectors, are busy addressing this problematic. You can certainly keep it light if you zoom in on species we intentionally introduce to naturalize for their attractive attributes and skip the thugs.
I'm now seriously pondering a trip to Tresco. Best of luck and I look forward to your future videos.
      Cheers, Martin
