Charley has the "it" factor and seems to be carving his own way trough music. I appreciate what he is doing for country and keeping the true art alive.
@@kenfromnj6929yeah but also jumping on a group you had nothing to do with and have trashed only to make 2 songs and more to come in the same lineup. She’s an extreme hypocrite that doesn’t deserve it after trashing country and folk for so long. Also she grew up in Texas I know but she didn’t even grow up in the actual country
Real talk, all the hype Beyonce is getting should go to Reyna Roberts, she's a real black country women that truly deserves recognition.@@buggedouts6409
Crockett and The Blue Drifters are always dressed to the 9's and putting on such an awesome show, showcasing true talent and entertainment. I wish they got the same love and recognition that Stephen Sanchez and Leon Bridges get!
I agree. I'm black from the city and i mostly listen to rap music. But i enjoy a multitude of genres. It pisses me off that if i go to a country radio station it sounds so influenced by pop which is heavily influenced by rap. Hearing 808s in country music is jarring. But we have this issue in rap as well. The core rap audience is overlooked in the mainstream to create music that "anyone" can enjoy. Which waters down the genre. Country is made so rap fans can like it. Rap is made so country fans can like it. When you do that you remove the things about the genre that make it unique and distinct. With both genres the only thing that will help is the core fans of the genre really rallying behind the people who are not... afraid to develop the genre, but they maintain the traditional core attributes of the genre.
@westerngroovetv No matter the genre good music is good music from Muddy Waters through the Stones or Beatles to good old Charley to A Boogie. You have great taste
Went to see him with the blue drifters in Dublin and he was the best thing I’ve ever seen live. His music never gets old. On repeat in my playlists for work
Charley Crockett is, and will always be, the man that kept the wild west alive. No disrespect to Sturgill, Vincent Neil and those alike but this is something else!
I just discovered you. I love the steel guitar & piano. If you’re not too big to listen yet don’t depart from the style. You don’t need it in every song, only the ones you can feel. You know what I’m saying. The ones you sing when you’re alone because you feel. Storms of life, walk-in away, here in the real world, does Fort Worth cross your mind, or you look so good in love. THE ones. Keep up the great music. Thank you.
So excited for this live album! If there was one show from this past year I wish I could have experienced in person, this is it. Cincinnati with Molly Tuttle and Marcus King was awesome, though.
He’s not really old-school country, but he does the schtick really well. If you watch his earlier videos, he had a completely different style. No southern country accent, was playing blues, jazz hip-hop, etc.
He still plays blues and jazz mixed with his own country sound. He's found his place in music. It's called Gulf and Western. People on the streets a few years ago probably wouldn't listen to a strong Texas accent. You have to know your audience. He worked hard to get where he is now. He's got no schtick. Just good, honest music.
Please correct me if I'm wrong here, but why does a guy like Charley with such a unique voice still use processing with auto tune during his live performances!? It sucks the character right out of his voice! Now I'm not saying it's extreme processing, and I'm not saying he can't sing. It's the opposite. Check out him performing this same song acoustic on youtube. He voice is great, you hear the character, the nuance etc...why on earth do people prefer the pitch corrected shrink wrap!? It kills the whole vibe and lumps the sound into the crap pop country that everyone else is doing.
It’s beautiful to see a man doing what he was born to do. He’s a national treasure. Thanks Charlie and the band.

All the hype around Beyoncé’s “country” album and this man has just been putting out bangers for 10 years. Underrated as can be
Don't need to put one person down to elevate another.

@bugged, I could not disagree more. Beyonce is simply amazing. She has performed at the Houston Rodeo multiple times. Nothing fake. Try to be nice.

Good as ever. I realy hope I get to see him. And even more in such a beautiful concert hall!
I've got a strong longing for the good ol' days of TNN and live performances from those who likely inspired Charley. Great work!
Had to be a killer show! 🤟🏻
Modern GOAT

No skinny Jeans! Give him a CMA.
Nah. He already has an Ameripolitan Music award. That's better.

Will the full Live from the Ryman concert video be on youtube?
I believe it’s dropping as an album in a month or so. I’d imagine most of the video will be posted by then too.
Dropping tomorrow. @drewsmith1876
