    As an ardent beard wearer, I get a little vicarious living from these videos. My message to all my bearded cohort is despite our mostly covered faces, there’s still a joy of shaving the neck and cutting out the lines of your beard with quality products.

      I have just shaved off my beard this morning! And already I'm glad I did, the compliments are coming thick and fast and I'm giving a fresh new impression today.
      But, it has to happen when it's right- please don't think I'm badgering you :)

    My advise to the chap with bumps is to NOT shave against the grain. Never use those multi blade cartridges as they slightly pull the hair before cutting which then when released may go underneath the skin causing ingrowing hairs. Use a DE safety razor that cuts flush to the skin.

  • @Olyfrun
    @Olyfrun 21 день назад +2

    That is a gorgeous razor. And I am so jealous of your beautiful soft hair! Watching that razor skate across the skin is a different world. I have very coarse and dark bristles, my pre shave ritual takes about ten minutes- shower, scrub, moisturize, hot flannel, shaving oil... And then we get to the wonderful Body Shop shaving cream which I find unparalleled.
    A pleasure as ever, and something about the combination of watching a man shave outside and hearing him talk about the bugs in the Middle East transported me back a few decades!

    Shaving with a double edge safety razor is the way to go. I started 6 years ago and never looked back. I usually use a Feather AS-D2 razor loaded with a Feather blade.

    Watching this video makes me nostalgic for my childhood, when I used to watch my father shave with this sort of safety razor, accompanied by a brush and a bowl of shaving soap.
    I am currently using a range of products by a company called Harry's, and they make a good shaving gel, body wash, after shave balm, and scrub/exfoliant.
    What many will not approve of is the multi-blade cartridge razor with the lubricating strip. Although it's true that these blades can get clogged after repeated use, or if I'm shaving off several day's worth of stubble, I have never once cut myself with this sort of razor.
    My father used to occasionally walk around with little bits of toilet paper stuck to his face to staunch the bleeding after a morning shave, and I've always been a bit reluctant therefore to use a classic safety razor.

      @aronscott9698 День назад

      A quality DE razor, blade, brush, cream or soap and good technique and you’d never want to go back to a multi blade cartridge. I’ve been shaving this way for 13 years and I never cut myself. Cuts tend to be the result of a blade that’s been used one too many times or from poor technique. It is imperative that you do not press down on the skin with a double edge razor, the weight of the razor is enough to do the job for you,

    Thanks for the video.
    I used for 43 years cartridge razors, and always be fine. After my retirement I saw 2,5 year ago a few RUclips movies about Safety Razor shaving.
    And I shave since then with a SR. Strange thing happened, I cannot go back to cartridges.Whatever soap I use. I get irritation at once!
    That Reggie Razor looks beautiful by the way!

    I do enjoy your shaving videos. Right now I am finishing up a tub of J. Peterman's 1903 shaving soap, an American product. Nice scent. They also make an nice aftershave. And I agree that shaving more lightly, letting the razor do its job, is way to keep the skin in shave and also reduce knicks and cuts. Ash, keep up the good work!

    Ash , please , don't use micro plastics and throw that synthetic brush away , my friend.You have brilliant made in England badger shaving brushes and while I understand that synthetic brushes dry faster they contaminate like we don't even know and don't have anything "eco friendly"
    Great razor , btw , wondering if they're gonna sell in the US and also the rest of Europe.I should let people from my Spanish Shaving forum know about it.

      I would not recommend a badger brush; the badger hair (regardless of where it is assembled or sold) all comes from horrific farms in China. Very cruel to the animal.

    I too enjoy a daily wet shave. Recently, I purchased a new safety razor from Muck & Brass (I'd never heard of them either) It weighs as much as Mjollnir!
    Great shave but, as always, my face looks like I used a blunt Axe
    As for the lotions and potions, still not really my thing.
