    Don't do this you'll have a bunch of dead mice in your crawl space, seal up everything set actual rodent traps in one area and remove them until you don't catch anymore, then seal that area boom your are rodent free and won't have to worry about another infestation or dead rodent smells.

    Hi Dan, I have an important question. I will be sure to contact my local pest control, but honestly would love your opinion and knowledge. My house currently has a brown recluse infestation. I noticed the first one almost a month ago. I called pest control (Orkin) and talked to their techs. In the meantime I immediately bought a bunch of glue boards amd set them all over my house. The technician came and sprayed inside and outside my house. A week and a half later, I daresay the problem seems worse. They're still definitely all over the place, I caught 9 brown recluse under a small dresser in my bedroom. Here's my problem...maybe that increase at first is normal, but my technician told me nothing on what to expect AFTER treatment, if anything. If it stays the same, increase or decrease...would have been nice to just have that explained and I wish I had asked.
    Is it normal for brown recluse to be more seen after initial first treatment? Im going to end up paying over 600$ to get this problem under control (7 months of treatments about every 2 months) is the increase in spiders seen around normal? Im very concerned. I've two young children and this problem is extremely unsettling. I haven't slept well at night ever since all those started.

    Dan i had a customer with a mouse stuck behind a fridge i had a glueboard in my hand and it ran out i slide the board in front of the mouse and caught it in front of them 😆 looked like a boss.
    I also had a smart rat i couldnt get in traps . I saw its ass sticking out a hole trying to get into the wall , i pulled it out by the tail and threw it on a giant rat glueboard.

    Honest question as I'm dealing with a similar issue... if the house smells like mice... what's it going to smell like when they die in the crawlspace?

    • @toecutterjenkins
      @toecutterjenkins Год назад +1

      Usually, mice are so small that it's not an issue. Like Dan said, the quickest way is baits. I usually tell customers it's like tearing off a bandaid. It sucks but it's best to get it over with fast.
      If it was rats, I'd start with traps. They will smell bad .

    • @DanTheBugMan
      @DanTheBugMan  Год назад +1

      It may smell worse before it gets better but that’s just part of the process. Replacing the insulation will help too!

  • @ethan6198
    @ethan6198 10 месяцев назад

    So they eat the bait and just die inside the wall? Why no snap traps?

  • @iambumpy
    @iambumpy Год назад

    Putting bait in the crawl space when there's no actual infestation will just attract more rodents. In Canada we are also no longer allowed to use Contrac bloc bait due to cross contamination between poisoned rodents and predator birds. Use strategic trapping for success in taking down numbers, then fix the dang house so they can't get under and can't get in.

    • @DanTheBugMan
      @DanTheBugMan  Год назад +3

      There's always more than one way to do things. As a pest company, baiting is much more efficient usage of resources for the price people want to pay. If someone is willing to pay more then exclusion and trapping are great options as well.

      The holes in chicken wire are too large maybe harware cloth. Best to stop them from getting iside in the first place. Or use ipm to clean up yards and decoys likenplastic owls to make it less inviting for mice in the first place. If it's a constant issue, you can use bait boxes outside to knock down the population

    • @DanTheBugMan

    • @animalsareourangels93
      @animalsareourangels93 Год назад

      @@DanTheBugMan I know it is more work, but in the long run, it would be worth it. Also, once you have the chicken wire up or some thing with a smaller grate, you can spray flex and seal on it. I don’t think the mice would be able to chew through that as well. It’s also very effective for rats. The way their situation is now is that all there insulation is on the ground. If not now, in time it will all be destroyed. take care, enjoy your videos, as I learn a lot….Susan from Canada 🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀
