Those Marines were Hooking up "COOLING AIR" to ground run AVIONICS not pressure starting the engine. They don't need external Air or Power to start the engine
@TheDailyAviation 8:12 - that thumb up means engine 1 is online and the Plane Captain (not crew chief) is ready to move to the next step, which is streamlining the flaps & ailerons. 8:18 - he is telling the pilot to hold because there are maintenance personnel (trouble-shooters) under the aircraft. 8:29 - the engine are already started, the movement he is doing with his hands is a means of safety, for people in the area to stay clear of the aircraft as it is running its FCS BIT sequence for the integrity of the flight control surfaces/systems. 8:50 - the plane captains do compete with each other on their launches, it can be fun as each person may add a personal touch to their launch. 9:53 - now they are being launched, taxi, nose steering checks, brake test, launch. The hand signals are universal, at least, throughout the Navy. Great video otherwise, thanks for sharing what we do. (I Am A PC, Plane Captain.) 🙌

I would even say more, totally useless, this plane is certainly the worst plane designed by the USA after the B737 and the F104 (nicknamed the widowmaker), 871 failures: it is expensive to buy, it is exorbitant in cost of maintenance, it spends 2 to 3 x more time in maintenance than a Rafale or a Eurofighter (a detail, if we take the 7 characteristics requested by the Pentagon to be a 5th generation aircraft, the F35 only meets only 4 out of 7 so it was never a 5th generation aircraft and the Rafale meets the 7 characteristics and it is only 4++ generation, amazing!!!) it only flies at mach 1.4, it carries little of armament (5800 kg against 9500 kg for a Rafale), it has a flight range of 2200 km while a Rafale flies over 3700 km!! it is either too heavy, or its engine is not powerful enough for an aircraft of this weight (14.5 tons for 178 KN F35 C against 9.9 tons for 150 KN Rafale C) its engine is kissing, these tires do not last long, its ejection seat is dangerous for people weighing less than 75 kg (a woman for example) its gun is imprecise, there are problems with overheating, its wings collapse, the oxygen generator works poorly, its computer system is such a complicated gas plant that few people dare to make changes to it, its target display does not correctly display the correct number of planes in flight (friends or enemies), it cannot flying when there is hail, it has electrical sealing problems, its paintwork is fragile and it costs $50,000 per liter that has to be redone in the event of hail, for example, it works poorly when it's cold, the helmet and the visor interfere with the rotation of the head in the cockpit, the visor e and the helmet are so heavy that they cause trauma to the cervical vertebrae, and many others, the list is so long !! you are ridiculous, you invent all the nonsense that goes through your head, it's borderline pathological, we call it mythomania!! It was a disgusting shame when my employer lost the contract to produce the vertical lift bevel gear. After scrapping dozens of those gears one after another I would have pulled the contract as well.

The C-5M is not a larger version of the C-5B. It has new engines and avionics along with other upgrades. There was a modified C-5A that was used in the Space Shuttle program called a C-5C. It was used to carry the external fuel tank by removing the upper troop compartment. It was still the same size though. Ron S.

Takeoff speed of 250-300 knots?!? I think that's a little bit exaggerated. I think, with full ordinance and gas, we're probably looking at 200 knots tops. Anyone know if this is accurate or not?
@michelekaufman the internal ammo went up from four to six missiles, a great + but when some aeroplanes get up to 12 missiles, 6 missiles is far from what's needed for Air Superiority. The poor maneuverability, the slow max speed, the weak structure of the plane, the lack of a cannon, the touch- or-voice command only display, the poor data fusion, the poorly developped software and the one and only not very reliable engine ...really do not help...
@@alexdarcydestsimon3767 The plane operates in stand-off mode, and is not designed to dog fight. The sensor fusion is vastly better than on any other Western aircraft. The flight control software is still wretched, even after a major rewrite.

@michelekaufman the internal ammo went up from four to six missiles, a great + but when some aeroplanes get up to 12 missiles, 6 missiles is far from what's needed for Air Superiority.
The poor maneuverability,
the slow max speed, the weak structure of the plane, the lack of a cannon, the touch- or-voice command only display, the poor data fusion, the poorly developped software and the one and only not very reliable engine ...really do not help...
@@alexdarcydestsimon3767 The plane operates in stand-off mode, and is not designed to dog fight. The sensor fusion is vastly better than on any other Western aircraft. The flight control software is still wretched, even after a major rewrite.
