I wonder what a Chilean air force KC- 135 E (ex US air force) was doing in Miami? The Spanish air force used to have their 707s (ex TWA converted to tankers ) undergo maintenance in Miami in the 1990s early 2000s. I live on Miami, I would love to see a KC 135 or 707 here again . The ship in this video has the original turbo fan engines...the KC 135's original engines were even louder would you believe? They were turbo jets and used a special water injection system for takeoff. As the pilot gave takeoff power, water was injected to the engine"s combustion chamber causing a controlled explosion of smoke anf steam..it looked like the engines were on fire because they left clouds of thick black smoke down the runway. Look up early videos of the KC 135 A...you will see what I mean. This Chilean air force KC 135 didn't use up that much runway...that tells me that he is going to land somewhere closer than Chile......Chile is an 8 hour flight meaning that he would have had a full load of fuel and would have used up much more runway.... I must add that at the time of this writing (February 2022)..., Miami airport has 2 DC8 73 cargo (ex Flying Tigers) based here....wow!
Great video : ) I remember when there were lots of 707 and DC-8 freighters based out of MIA, and it wasn't that long ago. I wish we had digital photography and video back then!!!
thank you for a clip of this historic plane I remember my first visit 1990 in MIA and the amazing traffic of 707, DC-8 , Connies and Concorde please more of them 👍
This aircraft is not an conventional Boeing 707. It's a KC-135 Stratotanker air refuelling aircraft. Look at the boom located beneath the rear fuselage, under the rear stabilization control surfaces (main drift and elevators)
Its quite as loud as the "old reliable" B-52H, because both aircraft are equipped with the P&W TF33 turbofans. More efficient than the original P&W J57 but not very ecological in terms of noise pollution.
It's a 707. Kc135 and 707 airframes arent the Same. Kc135 has shorter wingspan and it's wing are so much near to the nose on the kc135 than the 707 and kc135 wing's sweep it's so much bigger than 707. Notthe Same planes. Actually exists KC-707 and KC-135, not the Same. And those two ones can use the tail boom or two wingtip refueling drogues
WOW - I had forgotten just how loud the 707 could be. I sure miss the days when jet aircraft sounded like that.
Biscayne Boeing good thing it isn't a 707

@@jakesnussbuster3565 Exactly what is it, then?
@@davef.2811 it’s a Kc-135E Air to air refueling tanker that Chile bought used from the United States in 2009

Great catch! That is one of the greatest sounds in aviation history. Those JT-3s are music to my ears. 👍
*AHHHH* my ears... the 707 is quite the screamer!
The 707 had one incredible sound… like a 737-200 on steroids!! One of the loudest too…
Edit: Madness how loud this one is🤯

fightingfalcon1986 I know look at my description I just put 707 since more people know the 707 then the KC-135 to help people find the video easier 🙂
