I never cried through out the entire film but when it came to Balin crying it was just pure flooding my eyes wouldn't stop... Bless you Balin you cutie you! :3
This song from the Prince of Egypt fits so well. The Dwarves returning to their homeland just like the Isrealites returning to the Promised Land. I love it
As mentioned below it seems that Tolkien did base the Dwarves of Erebor based off of the plight of the Jewish people who were expelled from their homeland, and their language is also Semitic in origin. So this song could not be more fitting, I would be curious to see how you would interpret this with the final movie included as well. Since incidentally or not you end this with the Dwarves about to enter the Lonely Mountain which is analogous to the Hebrews journeying to the Promised Land.
I honestly didn't know that Tolkien based the Dwarves of Erebor on the Jewish people who were expelled from their homeland. Now that I think about it, it makes sense. I don't know why I didn't think of it before. Does that mean that he based Smaug on Babylon, then?
Beautiful video. Though I do wish that you had used the original version of the song. I think it packs a bigger emotional punch. But that's just my own personal preference. :) Have you ever thought about making a similar video using, "I Will Get There," from, "The Prince of Egypt"? I think that would be a great one to use for Thorin and his Company.
Neekfail Aww, that makes me happy to hear! I'm glad it was as emotional as I intended it to be :) I'll admit I teared up the first time I watched the end bits after putting it together! Thank you for your comment :)
GuessWho Thank you very much! :) The singer's name is David Archuleta! He was on American Idol a few years ago and he sang this on the show at one time. If you like his voice, you should look up some of his other songs :) He really is amazing! He's one of my favorites!!

Fascinating, seeing as how there is some debate as to whether the dwarves might be a parallel of the Jews. Anyways, brilliant and lovely. :)
