The fact that a segment of the video is labelled 'Jon's Excuses' is hilarious. Loved the very realistic 1st look and unboxing part of the video, really tempered my expectations for when I get mine
Yes I had the same residue. It cleans up nicely. You two together always make me laugh. Thanks for taking the time for the review from your busy schedule having two businesses. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.🎇🎄🎉
Hello Bill, Just out of curiosity, was your V12 kidding any of the rubbery shock absorbers from the top of the wheel too? as Ian's from the back of the wheel/above the charging port ... Or any other part which might be glued usually? Just trying to find out what that residue could have been.
You two make a great team and videos. I thoroughly enjoyed this while at work and my coworkers were coming into my office to see what was so funny. Notably, I just received my V12 a week ago. One unusual thing...I can't get the Chinese test rider's name erased and replaced with my name on the Me section of the app. Suggestion? Keep up the great videos gentlemen!
What a great double act! I've had my v12 for a few months now in Canada, you should be able to get better range than that once the battery has calibrated, and I'm sure the mud pit didn't help! I didn't have any of the mottling issues on my finish. I've been really pleased with this wheel, looking forward to your long term tests - they are exceptional.
This is awesome, two total different angles and man I had a laugh at that manual where you said you need to hold hands before setting off. Also very interesting that the app is not full English. Thought they would have sorted that. Would also be good to get the new firmware on there that changes it to mph. But this is some solid range in the weather we having here in the UK. How does it feel power wise to the S18? Keep well and keep sharing.
very nice and entertaining as usual a good laugh😂 Wel 2 questions what pedals height adjustment you and John have( lol you forgot to mention pedals are adjustables 3 height possible) and what firmware you have? Seems like youre result were a bit off probably because you do not have the same firmware. please update bot V12 you also have some improvements too.
Hilarious, yet some good information in there too! Not sure I'd take my expensive wheel out in those conditions, but interesting to see how tricky it is to ride up a muddy path with a glorified road tyre. Predictably chaotic so Jonathan did a remarkably GOOD job considering! Would be interesting to know what the mileage would be on roads and firm paths - possibly more than 32?
I dont think it would be much more, the mud section was only approx 1 mile ish, I think we would struggle to get much more. Summer might be 40 miles perhaps at a guess. Slower speeds of course would = more miles.
Its a hard one to say without more info, I out together this video here to help: electricpeople.org/post/which-electric-unicycle-is-best-for-me-5e8cb38260242b53ae7229fb

It seems to be a first batch, can't see the screws on the trolley, is it ? There seems to be some issues with cut outs at low speed when encountering a bump or a pothole, do you have any informations on that ? Thank you very much !
Now THATS a brave skydio user! Ugh, how you gna use one of these if you dont have any devices with apps? I havent kept up with much for new wheels either. Perhaps its time I just order a pair. Thanks for the reviews, looks like a nice lightweight wheel. Mten ftw! So, is it the KS18XL killer? Oh wait, its a 16" with 30 slow miles, not a chance. Wow, it looks damn big for such a small rim. Go faster, fall less, worth a shot!
Some is Skydio 2 some is DJI FPV :) You will get more miles if you go slower. I could kill the KS18XL batts in the same distance as well - they are on par in terms of range. I would say the V12 is a bit less likely to fall apart on impact when compared to the KS18XL, both cracking wheels though! More to follow!
To be fair to John, I didn’t like this tyre on my MSP. It flew out from under me a couple of times from loss of grip, once on concrete tiles! Doesn’t look like the v12 has a lot of clearance for an off road tyre like the c186 either?
Could be wrong but far's I know, CST does not make a 16" (actually 12") dual sport knobby. & I don't think Kenda nor Shinko nor Duro does either. So for 16" wheels, we're basically left with bike tires or full on dirt (which makes for a squishy & soft ie slippery street ride, if it fits ofcos).
Hi Ian, how come it took u so long to get hold of the v12? Anyone who rides a bit off road needs a proper offroad tyre. Only problem will be it eats the mud and clogs up! Euc + mud= Bad. Is there an offroad tyre for this?
Great plan as you two for whatever godforsaken reason just work. However, you need uniforms. Spandex. And a cape! Singular, which you have to share. Maybe a joust or two at 1000km?
I'm surprised that drone of yours doesn't connect with any trees 🎄 V12 tested to destruction. John can be relied upon, that is if he doesn't break his mobile first 🙂 The V12 has being doing well in reviews and now of course they are talking about a V13 as well, competition for the S20 🎅 With two machines I see some competitive stuff here 🏆I have a screen on my 16X, I stuck a mobile to the thing 📲 I think Inmotion have a reputation for quality and water proofing as well ✔
You guys woulda faired much better in those "wood" trails (as Jon says) with a ds knobby ala kenda/cst/shinko. & THIS LACK of real tire choices makes the V12 (or any 16" for that matter) a pass for me. & Unless one's a late 60s supermodel named Twiggy, we know how dumb the 100mile range claim is. I really wish mfgrs would stop that bit of absurdity. Real question is, how does the V12 perform against its obvious rival, the GW RS? Geewizz flashbang blingbling tech aside ofcos. I'm talking performance as in riding ballz out with eyes just on the road without a care for which or what wheel. Esp since both are basically identically priced. I know which I'll pick but it would great to hear Jon & your opinions. Thanks for laugh a min Jon 🤣
Very similar but with of course bigger batts (just) and what feels like a lot more torque and managed speed. Thats what I have at this early stage anyhow! Checkout www.ElectricPeople.org
Are you taking bets for Jon’s V12 being a ‘did not finish’??? Or was it a BOGOF, lol! Better to have a V12 with residue than one with little residual value 😆👍🏻👍🏻
I know that a v12 range test probably isn't exactly the right context for 'Is it a dog or is it a sausage?' but this video still felt lacking without it.
Agreed. Best feature ever... we just filmed an episode with Wrong Way and I asked him the question everyone wants to ask him... is it snow or is it balls.... coming soon!
I normally rate SF reviews quite highly, but I have to call you out on this one. You clearly edited the video to make the V12 look good and left out the bad footage. How do I know this? It's easy....Jon rode the wheel and there is no mention of him breaking it. We all know he broke it! So just come clean with an apology video and the destruction footage. ;-)
at 20celcius + i do 85km yes cold have an impact. and i do not ride under 20% it's dangerous at -10 riding a 40% battery at 45kmh underload it's 19/20%
@@ImSoooRad87 deep mud, offroad, and cold, yes that has that much of an impact. Always funny when someone watches a video then acts like they're experts. On road the wheel will get 40+miles. I know because I've done it. I did 42 miles on my nikola 2700wh in one ride and was down to about 34% battery, on a bike path/semi hilly terrain. 1850wh isn't a massive battery. But 30-40 miles is not "very low" for a battery that size. The "average" speed is deceptive, to get a 18MPH(not 15) average they were probably doing 20-30mph for much of the ride.. Come back when you learn more. Maybe watch 1 more video then you will know everything about life itself.

Looking forward to seeing this one. Saving up for a V12 as we speak by using my 16x to deliver food. Already half way there in 2 weeks!!!!
Even though I am extremely light to this, I thank you both for doing this. It was interesting and entertaining and useful.

Feels like it pulls a bit more than the S18 with more top end as well. Will keep on testing, the 250km will be out soon ish
