Minor error, in ME1 biotics effect ALL enemies, including shielded ones. This is why Adept is so overpowered in ME1 compared to the other 2 games. That's also why I disagree with your assessment of Liara in ME1. Since singularity effects shielded enemies too, it's far more useful to have another character with singularity than one that can strip shields. With 2 singularities and 2 lifts, you can spend basically all of almost every fire fight with most of the enemies floating. It's so overpowered that it basically sucks all the difficulty out of the game.
This guy knows. An Adept Shep with Liara is biotic explosion heaven and what you don't blow up quick enough Garrus melts.. This is the single best setup for insanity in all 3 games. No one else is needed.
I found the bonus power "Reave" to be the best biotic power. At high skill level, it applies to an area, and through material enemy barriers (e.g. metal shields) and at any distance. The most awesome property of Reave is that it sucks health from enemies and gives it to the player. It enables combo detonations as well. With a low cool down time at high skill level, this means you can permanently suck health from several enemies simultaneously, which allows the player to survive long periods under heavy fire.
In ME3, I always go with Garrus and Liara. Garrus for overload, Liara for a second singularity and plenty of biotic explosions. With the offensive capabilities of both, I don't really need Edi's decoy. Things just die too fast.
While I generally like the Adept, it has to be said that unfortunately, the class is at it´s strongest in ME1. I will never forget the first time I used lift on a Geth Armature or a Krogan Warlord, completely neutralizing these otherwise scary enemies. In the subsequent games, especially in ME2, the Adept is not that good, because biotics can´t affect enemies with protections anymore. The abilities got nerfed in exchange for shorter cooldowns. I personally preferred the way abilities were used in ME1, with long cooldowns, but devastating effects. It also left more space for gunplay, which I felt was really missing in ME3.
Yeah that’s how I felt playing through them as well. The biotic combos in 3 kinda made up for it, but I definitely feel like I needed squad mates to get rid of protections. Thanks for the comment!
@@ShadowSmith14 Biotic combos in ME3 are great and all, until you run into a Banshee. The only combo that always works on them is probably Dark Channel + Reave, as both of them arrive instantly. Any abilities with a travel time, like Throw, usually get blocked, which makes fighting them as an Adept almost impossible. When you compare that to an Infiltrator, who can just kill them in one Black Widow clip with headshots, you can´t help but think you chose the wrong class.
@@ShadowSmith14 I always found the problem was not really the Banshee, or any other big enemy (like Brutes or Atlases), because their attacks can be easily avoided. The bigger problem is that these big fuckers always force you to leave cover, which exposes you to enemy fire. And unfortunately, these big boys almost always come with a ton of grunts in support. On insanity, your shields go down in one burst without upgrades, and because it´s Insanity, enemies instantly zero in on you the second you pop your head out of cover.
Agreed, they nerfed the adept in 2 so heavily; no upgrades available for biotics before horizon, nerfing the physics and having to chew through protections to do the fun stuff you could do in one y default. Got better in 3 with the detonations and combos, but the adept is still most powerful\effective in 1 and paradoxically Andromeda. Yup that's right in Andromeda if you go full biotic. the pull\throw combo becomes so OP especially if you take the N7 Armor, fill it and you gun with reaction optimizers and one power booster on your gun and keep a light gun, hence your recharge @200% you'll be decimating the map by mid game. Too bad Andromeda was a such a crap story. For tose wondering what i mean here just go watch Ninaflips: Insanity Adept guide for andromeda😜
It is definitely a fun class to play! Overall it is probably tied as my favorite class, with the other being the Infiltrator. Hope that play through goes well!
@@ShadowSmith14 - Infiltrator is my current favorite, followed by Vanguard. I’m doing a pure Renegade Soldier run right now, as it’s my first go through the LE edition. Next will be a FemShep Adept, as I’ve never done either of those builds. Gotta say, the changes to the LE edition in ME1 have been welcome.
My first mass effect playthrough 1-3 i went in blind and chose soldier so yeah 3 was real fun trying to slog through everything at least i carried all ammo types but pretty much resorted to heavy weapons and armor piercing ammo but since the soldiers aint got dick for ability its all I could do thank God I wasn't doing insanity on my first playthrough but my current playthrough and first insanity playthrough im going adept all the way in 1 its pretty damn good in 2 I struggle bus the whole way in 3 I'm hoping its gonna be different.
I'm trying to choose a class for my upcoming canon run w/ my definitive Shepard. It's between Adept, Sentinel, and Vanguard. Leaning towsrds Adept at the moment, since it's the only class with its signature ability in all 3 games.
True that, but you have to do that one mission where you pick an ability to use a different Type of weapon or if you want you can pick a better version of a weapon you already know how to use. For example as Adept you can pick shotgun or assault rifle ( I suggest avoiding sniper rifles ) or as for example Infiltrator you can pick the best sniper rifle since you already know how to use it.
Yes you can, singularity clumps them all together, applies a biotic primer, then the cluster grenade sets off both its ability and a biotic combo! Works great against husks, and other enemies without extra protections :D
hi i heard that stasis was bugged and didnt unlock after completing the shadow broker dlc, just wondering if this is not the case or if there has been a patch and its now available?
I believe this is still bugged as I have not had the option to have it available in my ME2 bonus powers. I can check for you later this weekend though!
Didn't pistol for adept in ME1 had highest DPS for the class ? I'm sure at the mid-late game player could afford pistol that was enought to deal with all enemies.
In my opinion the easiest class overall is the Sentinel, you’re tanky, get a lot of defense destroying abilities, and it makes insanity just a bit easier!
So playing as the adept for setting off tech combos, my recommendation would have to be EDI and either Garrus or Tali. As the adept, you’re not able to proc tech combo’s fully by yourself, but your squad mates definitely can! I would also recommend picking up a bonus power like Energy Drain or Dark Channel to really get off some damage
Hey there! Just wanted to say, I was sniping in the ME1 clips just to show off how the Adept can now use the sniper rifle in addition to other weapons! But thanks for the feedback!
Everyone downplays adepts on ME2, yet I was destroying groups of enemies with a pull field, warp combo, with my low cooldown times I was spamming pull field like there was no tomorrow, I actually liked pull more than singularity because of the reduced cooldown, take kasumi and garrus to deal with shields and no enemy was a problem
Adepts take a while especially in Insanity difficulty. You need to beat the early levels while severely handicapped. But when you get leveled up enough, you're able to hold your own.
As someone who played the entire game series on Insanity as Adept, the only game I had any issue with is ME2. 1 is irrelevant if you focus on Bastion and Barrier spam while shooting shit with the Assault Rifle and in 3 you destroy everything with biotic detonations. Group incendiary ammo, warp for fire explosions, double throw for biotic and fire explosions on a single brute completely deleting them from the game.
Liara,Garrus and Femshep Adept is God mode in all Mass Effect games on Insanity difficulty. Biotic explosions all over with Liara while Garrus Witham maxed out Sniper rifle just melts enemies. You need to learn from trying.

You are 100% correct, the space wizard shepard makes Jedis look silly
Bastion Specialization make Stasis way more useful since you can damage enemies held in it.
Yes I whole heartedly agree! I believe I just went with Nemesis in my playthrough, increasing Warp's damage over time and increasing the Lift.
Bastion also makes you borderline invincible as you can have almost 100% uptime on barrier

Vanguard with Reave, I tend to go that way actually

Garrus with the Typhoon, full piercing ammo and assault rifle Damage is more than enough. He shreds through a banshee in like two seconds on insanity.
You can pick weapon specialisation in me1 and me2 giving you extra weapons in me2 ( I pick assault rifle)
The weapon I usually picked was assault rifle too! They’re a great versatile weapon type that serves anyone well!
just finished LE1 and LE 2, and you are 100% right, nice guide
