I made myself my first Costoluto Genovese tomato sandwich as you were talking, Jess. It's the first time I've ever grown from seed to sandwich, too! 🍅🍞😋

One of my favorite things that you tell your children is "You can do the hard things." and then you watch to be there if they need extra help. So, dear Sowers family, you can do the hard things together and we're watching in case you need extra help. :)
Right now it might look like a bunch of squiggly lines; but when you're finally finished with all of the logistics and you're sitting by your pond, swinging from your epic tree, you will be able to step back and see that those squiggly lines are a beautiful masterpiece to bring you to the place that God has planted you.....Home.
Out with the old adventure and in with the new one. My grandmother was born in 1913 and I was about 12 when she purchased her first electric toaster. She previously would "toast" bread on a dry black skillet over a flame just like those which you always use to cook with. Even now when our power goes out due to terrible winter storms or, God forbid, another massive earthquake, I am able to "toast" our bread because I've seen it done. I really like it better but sticking it in an electric toaster is so much easier. May God bless your trips. I'll pray for clear skies, good weather and lots and tons of patience. And everyone said "AMEN!" Oh, don't forget the garden wind chimes.
The flavor of stovetop toast just does not compare to either toaster or oven toast (even if you use the same pan in oven as on top of the stove). Stovetop is the absolute best.
You guys bless me and cause my face to hurt from smiling and laughing. Thank you for sharing so much of your lives and the family. I know God is with you and He has great blessings coming to you for HIS purpose! I will be watching and I will be praying for all of you. In HIS name, Lisa

As I look around I still have boxes and “stuff” all over the place. When you said “I’m tired” I felt it in my soul. You’re almost there. You’re in a home stretch. You got this.
As somebody who found you a little over a year ago, I'm addicted to your videos. Lately I've been moved to go back and watch your early ones to admire how far you've come in the last five years. About moving Chickens. I'm a retired chicken rancher where we moved 100K 22 wk old chickens every 3 months from one ranch 140 miles away from the lay ranch by freeways in the high desert of California. We used semi trucks with a trailer that had wire sides like cattle panels. A second trailer looked more like the cow trailer with holes for air in the sides. Once the truck was loaded we NEVER wanted it to stop because chickens need the air flow. Their bodies generate a lot of heat and without airflow they will die. We always moved at night in the summers. It took us a week of moving at night to move this many chickens with 2 semi trucks. My husband is in heaven now but we were ranchers for 33 years. I love your show, I love your farm, I wear your T-shirts and I want the best for you, Miah and the kids in NC. I pray for your family. You inspire me. Thank you for giving so much to all of us. ❤️
You can do hard things❤️ The last bit is the hardest but soon you’ll be sleeping in your beds again and you’ll settle in 😴 Your hair looks fantastic! The highlights really make your eyes pop💇♀️
Thank you for the update. If it takes a village to raise a child, so too it should to move a family with such abundance. Enjoy your rest moments, your brilliant squiggly lines and remember God is watching over you all through this adventure. 🙏🏻
I had to take a breath around 28:00 because it was stressing me out just listening to the logistics of it. Makes my 3300 mile move in one car seem like a breeze
Who knew a tomato sandwich could evoke so many emotions? I laughed, I cried, I wished I was having one too… I am truly so happy for you and your family. You’ve inspired so many and you will continue to do so. Best wishes and good luck with the squiggly line. Can’t wait to see what’s next. ❤️❤️
God Bless you all!!! Lord keep that hedge of protection around this beautiful family!!! Keep them safe in their travels, I ask this in Jesus' most beautiful name!!!! Amen 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️
I moved my chickens in their coop 400 miles, I had the rooster penned separately. In the coop I gave the chickens a head of cabbage and offered water whenever I fueled. The chickens were so content that they laid eggs on the journey. Best wishes for a smooth journey.
We just went through a BIG move and it did feel nuts and when we tried to explain it all to other people it sounded crazy but somehow it all works out! Praying for you guys. ❤️🙏🏻❤️
Bwahahahahaha from East Texas! I am a Lifetime Navy Brat, Army Veteran and Navy Wife. Spent my Childhood packing, moving, and driving from East Coast to West Coast every 3 years. Days in the Station Wagon. Unpacking the house. EVERY opened box was like Christmas. Reestablishing ourselves. New Friends, schools, Communities. I relish those memories... and hassles. Be Blessed on your New Adventure!
Dear Jess, I can definitely feel the stress you are feeling as the pitch of your voice is abnormally high! So thankful you talked it through and could get through it all! By the strength and providence of the Lord this Will all fall into place! Covering you all in prayer, just breathe and keep looking up! 🙌🙏❤️🙏🙌🤗
I began my first garden this year with my grandson this year because of you Jess. Your inspirational journey as a woman , wife and mother was seen in the growth of your garden. Beautiful gardens grow where love blossoms. I wanted to share this with my grandson. And it is an amazing feeling to have watched both my garden and grandson blossom and grow this spring and summer. So thank you for your honesty, humor, and love of helping both nature and people blossom. We live in Beaufort, SC so also welcome to our beautiful state!!!
Jess and Miah, Y'all just need some real down time to be away from all the stress of moving, and establishing a new place. I hope staying at Justin and Rebekah's cabin allows you time to just relax. Sending hugs, and prayers!
WOW. I can't bring myself to watch the garden tour yet but be blessed and carry on. You have taught me I can, you have shown me God, and all I can say is thank you.
That plan is certainly like a complicated game of Chess. But you SO GOT THIS!! You have it all planned out and it is all going to go just beautifully. You are full of grace and when you want to cry, laugh 🌻❤️
So glad you all have gotten everything together and getting moved and taking some time to rest and just spend sometime with the Rhodes they are amazing family. I love them and the work ethic that they have. Just want to say to have safe travels on your journey and God bless you all, and thank you for sharing your journey with all of us.
The seemingly hairy, messy, tangled ball of life always unravels itself perfectly to plan...even if we can't see it at the time! You definitely got this and the future looks incredible. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Wow, so take a deep breath and look for joy in the little blessing moments as you go along this curvy line itinerary. Remember, like you said, this is just a season of discomfort for a permanent improvement. You will make it. Hug each other each day and remember relationships are the most important in the midst of the challenging days. Thanks again for sharing this update. Praying for safety and peace of mind for you all.
Y'all have somehow managed to take the hairy, messy, tangle of life and keep it real/personal in a way that makes watching a pleasure. I genuinely wish the entire huge bunch of you the greatest success and happiness in your new locations/experiences. I can't figure out if I should call y'all a family or a clan. It's obviously a wonderful mix of love, laughter, hard work and new horizons. It's a beautiful way to live. Wild like a garden full of volunteers and transplants. Never knowing who will sprout and bloom in any given spot from season to season.
You two are crazy...and I mean that as a compliment. May the Lord bless you and keep you safe (and sane!) as you set forth in this new chapter of your life.
I think I speak for everyone in saying WE BLESS YOU ALL! WHEWWW! LOL You still have your humour so it's all good, squiggly lines and all. My family never moved a farm but being a military fam we moved every 4yrs of my childhood. Your kids will be much better for going through this and I'm sure you know that already. 😉 Wishing you all continued safe travels.

I just almost choked on my coffee with Jesss’ comment “ I feel a little tightness in my chest! “ 😆🤣 it is all going to work out like it’s supposed to be. Love y’all!
Toddler squiggly lines are great for laughing so you don't cry. Praying for safe travels and a good rest when it's all done.
I hope you have a backup generator at the new place too, now that I think about this. 👍
Birth is something painful but wonderful and majestic. Months of preparations weeks of being uncomfortable trying to get ready and labor...I wish you nothing but the best through these last few pushes and I am so excited watching the new life emerging, blossoming and becoming. Can't wait to watch Roots&Refuge 2.0 grow up.
Can’t wait to bump into your family here in SC. By accident, or by invitation!! I’m not a stalker 🤣.
My sentiments exactly!
Same lol
same here
That's what I was thinking living in Columbia
Same but we are close to Augusta Ga, Not Columbia 😔
Golden Sweet Miah quote!! “See, you can make it, you just have to color outside the lines! “ Love it!! You guys are doing a great job!
Yes, my head is hurting but I'm glad you're able to laugh through this. You are so hilarious.
Who knew a tomato sandwich could evoke so many emotions? I laughed, I cried, I wished I was having one too…
I am truly so happy for you and your family. You’ve inspired so many and you will continue to do so. Best wishes and good luck with the squiggly line. Can’t wait to see what’s next. ❤️❤️
You’ve coined a new phrase “kalmboucha”. Market it quick. 😁👍
God Bless you all!!! Lord keep that hedge of protection around this beautiful family!!! Keep them safe in their travels, I ask this in Jesus' most beautiful name!!!! Amen
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️
When you realized you didn’t have a knife 😂😂
Hahahaha I was also thinking “oh no big, you can just smear the bread together…. Oh no… the tomatoes” 🤣
Reminds me of ZENTANGLE art…all the tangled doodled lines come together to form a beautiful picture!
Dear Jess, I can definitely feel the stress you are feeling as the pitch of your voice is abnormally high! So thankful you talked it through and could get through it all! By the strength and providence of the Lord this Will all fall into place! Covering you all in prayer, just breathe and keep looking up! 🙌🙏❤️🙏🙌🤗
We just moved from MT to SC a couple months ago glad the move is over. Can't wait to see your new farm develope. 😁
Lord , we ask for your Protection and thank you for providing Friends
Never toasted my bread for tomato sandwiches. Will have to try. So excited for the videos at your new home. Safe travels to you all. Blessings
Safe travels.
So glad you all have gotten everything together and getting moved and taking some time to rest and just spend sometime with the Rhodes they are amazing family. I love them and the work ethic that they have. Just want to say to have safe travels on your journey and God bless you all, and thank you for sharing your journey with all of us.
You are such a sweet sweet person..
You and Miah are wonderful together. Beautiful family... Prayers for you all for a safe move. ❤🌻🌻🌻🌻❤
The seemingly hairy, messy, tangled ball of life always unravels itself perfectly to plan...even if we can't see it at the time! You definitely got this and the future looks incredible. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Thanks for bringing us along..sharing your life and the happy and concerning times. You allow us to be a part of your world.. thanks...🙏🏽❤😊
VW one of the most amazing family's I know
Wow, so take a deep breath and look for joy in the little blessing moments as you go along this curvy line itinerary. Remember, like you said, this is just a season of discomfort for a permanent improvement. You will make it. Hug each other each day and remember relationships are the most important in the midst of the challenging days. Thanks again for sharing this update. Praying for safety and peace of mind for you all.
My head is spinning. I can’t even imagine how y’all got all this organized-no wonder you seem so giddy. 😆
Saying a prayer for all of you this morning as you begin this leg of your journey. Safe travels and see you on the other side…the east side 😉🙏🏻
I'm sitting here in tear. 😢
This is such a big change for yall. Sending love
Hey, if there’s anyone that can get through, this it’s you guys!! I’m routing for all of you!! 🌻♥️
You two are crazy...and I mean that as a compliment. May the Lord bless you and keep you safe (and sane!) as you set forth in this new chapter of your life.
So much to juggle, but the move will soon be finished and you’ll be all settled at your new classroom! 🙂
Hope to see some video of loading and unloading animals.
The best part of ALL ya'lls videos are the "LOGISTICS" !!!!!!!!!!!
Nothing better than home grown tomatoes! Can’t wait to see y’all get moved into the new house and farm!
Please film when you return to pick up the pets. Bear will be so happy to be reunited with his momma!
I lived on 4 different farms as a kid , we moved all our animals too.
