This looks great. We are hoping to be at Kurumba mid May 2017 and I'd love to give diving a go. I can swim and snorkel but I'm a little afraid when I get out of my depth, so long as I can see the bottom I'm fine but I'm willing to give it a go as it looks amazing.

I am currently planning to do a dive master internship after I've completed my Uni degree in Marine conservation. I have recently realised my true passion for diving and the ocean, and I can honestly not wait to begin my career, even if it is in many years to come. My dream is to be an instructor In tropical places like this, I can imagine the competition is tough, but i know that won't stop me. I was wondering truly how difficult it is to get offered a job as an instructor and if it is really something I could live off? Because I understand some people sometimes need another job. Great video by the way, just gets me so excited for what's to come 😊
Hi there, surely if it is your passion you should go for it. Certainly there is a long learning process involved, and you will need to pass many courses, exams and training. Maldives can be a good destination to search for a job, as almost every resort has a diving school. Another thing you need to be ready to stay for a long time away from home, as your job will be mostly available in tropical places, which quite challenging to be honest (unless you never get home sick :)). But if you get a change to make your hobby your job - nothing can be better than that.

It’s a great video. But it’s heartbreaking to know that to experience scuba one must know how to swim! Is it really necessary to know swimming for scuba diving? Me and my wife planning to go to Maldives and experience Scuba. But both of us are non swimmers. Please give us a reply. TIA
Don't dive with a tank marked Nitrox unless you are qualified. If they say it's just air you must check and to do that you must be qualified (catch 22).

I am a certified open water PADI Diver. Is that sufficient or you would recommend to take Advance as well so that I can dive above 18m/60ft.
