Oh man, I still don't know why this channel hasn't grown to 200k subscribers ... Interesting, well mixed content greatly presented with a good sense of humour... What else could one ask for?... Keep it up man, awesome content!
My preference for "home" switches in the last year or so has been the juniper ex2200 series. Pretty quiet (except for about 20 seconds after powering up), fairly low power, poe :)
I think you can take those HP ProCurve 2910s and flash them with modern HP-Aruba firmware for a refreshed UI look. I use a slightly newer series as my lab switch at work.
This program was sponsored by ? =) These 5300XL can draw a lot of power as they share the same power as 8x 24-ports switch, so take care with the powerbreakers and groups. This is in overall a very nice and generous donation. If you need any assistance in the networking setup, you know where to find me.
Well, if the slot is 5V only and the card is 3.3V only it won't work. The 5300 is both, the 6400 is only 3.3 volt. EDIT: After taking a second look my ML530 has both slots (5V and 3.3V) but there are no universal slots, which I guess was my point (if you only had one PCI-X slot). Further, the 5V slots are marked as 64 bit/33 MHz, whereas the 3.3 slot is marked as 64 bit/66 MHz. I think Victor's point is that the 3000 only has 5V (32 bit) slots, so he'll need the 5300.
For fiber generally speaking, the modern trend is to use connectors called LC - that is what is on your small patch leads. Older fiber used SC which was bigger and square. SX means short distance fiber, like 300m or so. LX is long distance fiber up to like 20km.
Hallo als je een HP Switch gebruikt kun je een ip-adres instellen op de Switch dan moet je niet altijd te console Poort gebruiken om deze te configureren
I had a friend and this was his first computer.. It really sucks balls... It is literally the worst computer in the world.. even in 20-years time retro computer hardware people will bury in the ground so they don't have to look at it... Sending it to recycling is too good for it.. you would have to leave it on the street so all the dogs urine on it.. and even a dog with think twice before blessing that computer with it's urine.... That's how bad that computer is.... If Satan has the internet he will make you use that computer to access it... That is how bad that computer is... 😞

That PCI-X SCSI card will work in a standard PCI slot, just at a lower speed.
Well, if the slot is 5V only and the card is 3.3V only it won't work. The 5300 is both, the 6400 is only 3.3 volt.

Yes the 5300 works. And the 6400 doesn't fit physically in the pci 32bit slot

Very cool!
Those AIR-LAP acces points won't work with the standard firmware , they will need to be reflashed with the autonomous boot image.
