Best Urlacher play, the one I most remember him for, was playing Green Bay and he overplayed a sweep that ended up fooling everybody when it became a reverse. Urlacher recovered, ran over multiple blockers to not only catch up with the reverse on the other side of the field but ended up turning the play into a 3 yard loss. As a 49ers fan with no interest in the Bears, it is a damned shame that Grossman was their QB when they played the Colts. That defense and Hester on special teams was good enough to win it all. Too bad the offense wasn't.
TheAnimationLads - Yep, and they beat his Saints in the title game. I doubt he would have wanted to play for Lovie though, as Peyton was a known offensive coach.
The Colts had the #32 run defense in the NFL that year . . . the field was wet . . . yet the Bears only ran the ball 19 times (they were ahead into the second quarter and within a TD most of the game) . .. they could have pounded the ball and likely won that game. I almost feel that Lovey wanted his mentor (Dungy) to go out a winner
@Drummajortsu Orton got them through the playoffs, but the Bears ownership was so hot on Grossman they forced him back in that game. There's a reason why Trent Dilfer was a super bowl champ, he didn't turn the ball over and scored enough points for his defense to play with a lead. I love Lovie Smith, but he should have known that team lived and died by their defense and not taken the ball out of their hands by giving it to Grossman.
If anyone deserves to be in the Hall it's Urlacher. I can remember his first season and thinking "who the hell is this BEAST!?". Just one helluva player!

Urlacher for me was the middle linebacker God. Sideline to sideline speed, stuck his nose at the point of attack, great pass interceptor, unstoppable tackling machine, made crucial plays when needed. Bears had something special when he chased down Michael Vick towards the end in a game against the Atlanta Falcons. His first ballot HOF induction speaks volumes about the player and the man.
He got rejected by Texas and every top 20 college for a football scholarship too. Only New Mexico gave him one, and he was nominated for the Heisman his senior year, so every other college knew they blew it.

Gave us Bears fans something to watch during some frustrating seasons (and a few good seasons too). Congrats Brian!
I am a life time Packers fan, but Brian Urlacher is one of my favorite players of all time.
I've never been a Bears fan..but I rocked that Urlacher Jersey all day
I feel like he could’ve been a great TE too.
He was a great player, one of the best ever.
Urlachers bears always neutralized mike Vick. I loved seeing that
I was at the game they showed 2005 it was so cold my beer froze. at the time coldest game in history
Brian we need you to suit up again. This team needs a leader
This channel can do it all
Such a great era of foot ball!
Easily the best defensive player on our team during the 2000s. Unbelievable that our front office would disrespect him smh.
yeah they shoulda payed him more for less!
Lance Briggs is up next!!
