Yes, I think Obutto Revolution or Ozone is the way to go if you want to use the cockpit for more than just racing. This was crucial for me as this is used by youngest son who doesn't play any racing games, unless you count Rigs of Rods a racing game but he plays that with keyboard and mouse anyway :) I think you will find that you don't need to mod it. The creator, Chris Dunagan says he plays more fps than racing anyway these days.

Thanks Chris for a most versatile rig. Although set up for driving/racing, it's actually used mostly by my son using keyboard and mouse. Sometimes used for flying as well.
I don't play fps but my sons do. Obutto is very comfortable for fps games because you have a big keyboard/mouse tray that you can the adjust position and height.
It just worked for me. G27 wheel, Leo Bodnar BBI-32 board (button box) and G27 pedals on Leo Bodnar pedal cable. My shifter and handbrake are connected to the button box.
I own an Evo X, but I cannot push it hard, it is bad for health and finances, I would crash it, I wanna buy a setup like yours to live out my rally driver dreams. The first time I drove the evo with my friends we all decided that it would have been safer to buy a great simulator setup.
Hi. Thanks. The Obutto cost me abt $1300 AUD with kitted out. I'm really liking that the game supports PC better than WRC 3 but a bit too early to tell if it's better than WRC 3 in terms of gameplay. I've only just started :)
The monitors can be moved higher but the wheel is at the lowest position. I'd prefer the wheel to be lower. Seat is fixed but I can modify it to be higher but then the pedals will be too low. I've only had this assembled for a couple of days, so it's still early days.
@shuah long, looks like you have Contact Lock on and that is probably why I cannot reply to your posts. To answer your question, RBR feels much more realistic compared to WRC 4. RBR therefore gives you a sense of achievement for finishing the stage in one piece. WRC 4 is much easier to get into to have some fun. So, if you want some quick fun, WRC 4 is great.
YipZone I thought some of the tracks on this game were more difficult than RBR. The ones that are really tight and slippery like Australia that have multiple closely stacked hairpins are incredibly difficult when you use 900 degree lock. Transitioning from one hairpin straight into another while racing up hill is really hard. Specially when going hell for leather trying to hit fast times. This game can give you one hell of a work out. I had to practice a lot to get good on this with full rotation on the wheel. The straighter tracks like the one here in the video are easy enough but the much more technical ones are a nightmare.
Unfortunately being 15 and living in the UK, I am unable to work and simply can't afford something as beastly as this. Luckily 16th is just around the corner. How much was this in total? I'm guessing not in the reach of a school boys pocket money :P Still great video showing off the Obutto, heard a lot of praise about those rigs. Oh and is WRC 4 better than 3 and why? As I said great video, keep em comin'! :D

The tray doesn't move around when you play. It wobbles up and down a bit though because it's on a cantilever when playing hardcore fps, eg Battlefield/COD etc. It's more comfortable and better than a desk for fps gaming.

Awesome set, I'd love something like that but I can imagine it's not cheap to source and build, I love the realistic gameplay with these simulators especially with the rally/GT and F1 games even on PS4 consoles they are amazing. I could play these games all day on my basic steering wheel & pedals, once you get into a rhythm and you produce a flawless stage it's so addictive and rewarding just like your stage then. Windows 7 64bit as well. G27 has force feedback but not as much as WRC 3. Definitely not feeling any environmental effects. Hope there will be a patch for it.
My T500 RS has no FFB with this game whether I turn on or off 900 degree steering, I'll wait for the patch (hopefully there will be one) before going back to this game.
Hello How do you set the keybinds on WRC4? I have a logitech MoMo wheel and a set of DIY hydraulic pedals but can't find a way to set the keybinds to work. Also I can't ''clear'' the atributions I don't want to use, but the game keeps choosing keys for me. Hope you can understand my doubt. Cheers
Awesome vid, too bad it wasn't using Richard Burns Rally though, or even an rFactor mod. How do you like the triple monitor mount? There is a bit of movement/flex with the shifter mount, does it bother you? Can you feel any movement/flexing with the wheel base or wheel stand when you raise the FFB in a sim like rFactor 2?
Most of my other videos are either RBR or rFactor. The triple monitor mount is fine but takes a bit of fiddling to get it right. Once set, I've not had any issues with it. There is a little flex with that shifter but no, it doesn't bother me. If you have the shifter lower, there is less flex. With some high FFB you can get a lot of movement with the T500 but not because of the wheel stand flexing. The wheel stand/base is very sturdy.
YipZone Ok so even with the FFB very high and getting a little crazy lol, the mount/shaft/pole of the Obutto is sturdy as a rock? I'm using a thin wooden desk right now and I can feel the wood actually flexing a bit, especially in rFactor 2, ahaha

YipZone Looks like you're turning your wheel more than the car is responding. That's a good thing otherwise it would be over sensitive and you would be bouncing off the walls. I've got the game but can't recall if there is an in-game steering wheel setting to accomplish that or not. I lost my O/S and haven't reinstalled the game yet.
yeah but, he might say that just to sell to fps gamers ( I'm just speculating) I bought the plans to build the ricmotech wooden rig(just because its rock solid) but never touch it because of the lack of versatility between fps and racing I though about moding the plans but that would take an immense amount of work and space after I was finish building it.

maybe ... but you get the online racing comunity etc and you dont have to buy new tires etc... if you play rfactor for example you get more than 1000 pro players you are playing with teamspeak and a real team ...
Petr Novak the game have good phisics, i play it. is not pure sim but is close, to me one of the best rally game out there. i think the phisics are one of the good things about this game, what is bad is the carrer mode which is the most uninteresting and lame i've ever played, the game gets saved buy the driving phisics which are good

Bonnet cam is good too but I wish there was an option to turn off motion blur.

@zana826, T500 is 'away' at the moment with somebody who's modding some parts for someone else. Hope it will be back soon :)
Hi, just standard with 900 degree option turned on (my Logitech was set at 540). All deadzones were set to zero though.
