    I just want to say thank you so much I literally just took a job as a Bioinformatics Analyst and have been so overwhelmed with where to even start, some of the more experienced Bioinformaticians have been a little reluctant to train me, so I have been trying to research on my own but even with a background in both Immunology and Statistics I still did not even know where to start with Bioinformatics!!! Your video really reassured me and helped me to relax, now I feel like I really can do it! Thank you so much you have earned a new subscriber!! I will connect with you on LinkedIn :)

      Hi Payton, awesome I’m so glad this video has reassured you! The leap seems so daunting but if you take it step by step and use what you know you can definitely take on this learning curve. Feel free to let me know if there’s anything specific you would appreciate a video on and I’ll do my best to cater the content!

    Just want to say thank you for creating such useful content specially for people like me who don’t have any background in computing sciences, but would like to learn bioinformatics, can’t say how much I love your videos! ❤️❤️❤️

      Hey Tina! Sorry I’m so late getting back to this it’s been a busy month. Yassss so happy you’re here for this content 🙌 you can definitely learn bioinformatics without a background in comp bio… there’s many of us here and excited for you to be on this journey xx

    Omgggg I screamed when you said you studied molecular biology and genetics.🥰 I’m majoring in Genetics and I’m about to start learning coding especially python again . I also heard perls a good pl for bioinformatics. Fun FACT: I actually want to dive into bioinformatics and salesmanship someday with a dazzle of consultation. Love your channel will be here all through undergrad and beyond ❤❤

      Ahhh love that! Hello fellow genetics person 🙏 Great to hear you’re gonna start learning coding. Perl is kinda old school, being phased out. The new kids are python and R for bioinformatics! That sounds like a really great career plan, I always think it’s good to be technically savvy before you head on over into consulting, means you know what you’re talking about when you go to sell/manage etc. thanks for the comment, hope the videos are helpful for you! 💕🫶

    Wish they taught us R in 1st or 2nd year at UEA. I've had to do my undergrad project with R and no previous experience. Not the only group that had this problem too.

    • @genomicswithgeorgia
      @genomicswithgeorgia  2 года назад +1

      Hey! Yes I agree, it’s helpful to start learning these things asap! I believe there is now a data science module in second year at UEA for biological sciences which covers some R 🙌 But sometimes you have to go out on your own and learn these skills. I’m sorry you had to suddenly use R with no previous experience, it takes ages to get used to talking to a computer. Hopefully we can spread the word that biologists should be taking this coding thing up earlier rather than later ☺️

    Thank you for the video! Do we really need to learn codding anymore? Because some people from the field they says dont west your time by learning how to code AI is gonna do that for us. Just understand the dinamics🤷🏻‍♀️ i dont know? Learning codding is a big investment. What do you think?

    • @genomicswithgeorgia
      @genomicswithgeorgia  6 месяцев назад

      Yes… someone has to code the AI to do the things the human wants it to do. Tools like CHATGPT are speeding up coding, they help us debug errors, explain packages to us, much faster than our google and sifting through multiple websites was doing. Understanding coding is key to future proofing your employability, in my humble opinion 💖
