Achilles is actually not a demigod, unless you count Thetis as a goddess, but one of the major plot points was that since Zeus was afraid that Thetis' child would surpass him due to a prophecy, he had her marry a mortal so that the child would be less powerful, he would probably be more similar to a Water Genasi than an Aasimar

question, didn't Achilles have a sword? (never read the Iliad but I've always seen him shown with both spear and sword.)
He probably did, it would have been the standard battlefield backup weapon, but he's more often shown with a spear.
