    I've been in an RV park for 2 years. I absolutely love it. 650.00 per month including water, sewer, sanitation, 100.00 in electric, pool, bathhouse, fishing pond, trails. Very quiet. I'm staying my ass right here. 🤣

    I'm not doing it yet, but to me, two of the pros are: 1) Living lighter and being able to do the things I really want to do with my life, rather than spending my time earning money to take care of my house and stuff, pay for it, etc. 2) Being able to clean my home in 1 hour.

    Great video! Newly retired, late 50's here and getting ready to live the "Snowbird" RV Lifestyle. Gonna do 6 months of Seasonal Florida Winters Nov.-April and Maine beaches Summer Seasonal. Owned a mint Holiday 32 ft. Summer Seasonal on the water at York Beach, Maine for quite a few yrs back in the 80's and 90's. Now I'm a retired single w/kids all grown up into young professional adults, I'm gone! I just remember the enjoyment of being in my 20's back in the 80's and living every summer at the beach. Just like Eddie Money singing "I Wanna Go Back." I'm done w/New England Winters and the Nor'easters, blizzards, ice & snowstorms. So sick of Winters. Time for the Snowbird Lifestyle!

I wish I would’ve known about RV park living season or not so many years ago! You got in the club early! But after 5 years full time I can say there are way more benefits of stationary living vs traveling 🧳 so I like your plan 👍 Which RV are you going to be enjoying your best years ever in? 🤔

    Excellent info. I was considering living full time in a park model rv, but now, I'm not sure it's for me; (or that I am that kind of guy.) I'm older now, and not as physically capable as I once was. Plus, I'm retired, and there is a lot of things I just don't want to do any more. (I know how I am.) I'll still look into it, but this has made me think about specific things. (I'm not as tolerant of noisy neighbors as others might be. And I don't think I'd take care of the RV like I should.) But THANKS, it made me realize what I'd be getting into, and I'm not sure I would be a good fit for that lifestyle.

    Remember, stationary is relative. That could be a year at a time or just a few months at a time. You can get monthly rates at a lot of parks. Spend a few months maybe work camping at one park, then find another work camping gig a little ways away that gives you new scenery and new things to check out on your off days. Summer up north and winter down south. That said, we had a great time wintering in the hills or NW Oregon. It was a little creepy when we got over a foot of snow and we knew there was only one other person in the entire state park. A definite "Shining" moment.

    • @RVersity
      @RVersity  2 года назад +1

      I could see that and relate to those feelings! I agree on the stationary stuff. I didn’t plan to be stationary for so long I have had lots of family issues to tend to and the pandemic all played a role in my decision. But, I love the idea workamping and did stay for 2 weeks to a month before my present situation! Thanks for all your comments & watching my video!

  • @neilouellette3004
    @neilouellette3004 2 года назад +4

    Correct about less wear & tear on your RV. Great point. People don't realize as your traveling w/your RV there is a lot of flexing on the unit. Especially w/a travel trailer besides the motorhome. Continuous flexing can cause more maintenance of the weather seals around windows, roofline, ac's etc.. Especially on the lower quality RV's. A lot of them out there! Less wear & tear on a Seasonal or Full Time site RV.

      @RVersity  2 года назад +1

      I couldn’t agree with you more Neil! Most people definitely do NOT realize the benefits of Full Time RV life and the RVs. BUT it does depend on how people take care of their RVs too 🤔 I’ve seen some strange things with people do with stationary for a while and what they do NOT do! (Like maintenance 🤦‍♀️) Thinking back most of my problems have come while “moving” or in the process of arrivals, departures, & on the road trips! Thanks for sharing your thoughts 💭 Neil!

    Thanks Brandi. I'm currently traveling with an RV club for full-time single RVers in my class A motorhome. I'm paying an outrageous amount of money for fuel on the road, so thinking of parking in an RV park and getting a job.
    Last winter,, I workamped at an RV park and spa in southern California
    from Oct 2020 to April 2021 and accumulated a ton of stuff, which I've reluctantly given away or tossed into trash even though nothing was wrong with it, I just didn't have space to carry it and still be comfortable in my RV.
    TLDR: Thanks, I enjoyed and appreciated your video and have experienced some of what you discussed.

      @RVersity  2 года назад +1

      Hi 👋 Lilac! The RV club sounds fun but traveling vs staying longer at RV parks does make a difference on the bank account 💰
      The spa workamping idea sounds amazing! Hopefully you took advantage of the “spa” part while you were there 🙌
      And you’re right staying in one place does cause more stuff to accumulate. I’m constantly minimizing my life!
      Glad you can relate & thanks for watching Lilac! 🙏

    So rv living is cheaper then a house or apartment, you never have to mow your lawn unless you choose to go stationery, you can bring your house with you and travel to beautiful places anytime you want, it can be more eco friendly because if your using solar panels for power its better for the environment then your average home owner, you have less stuff and therefore have less to clean, if your moving a lot you are forced to keep things clean and tidy leaving little to no room for laziness..... This is sounding better and better by the minute...

    Omg I am just starting out on the research part of rving stationary. I feel so lucky to have found you because I KNOW NOTHING. It’ll be me and my mom. I am 50 and my mom is 70. We are on a very limited income however we have a lot of equity in our home that we are going to sell and take the profits and buy an rv. I’m a nervous wreck but tired of worrying about if I’ll have enough money to live each month.

    We currently live stationary in an rv park. We have full hook ups and we do have laundry on site and our garbage gets picked up. My husband has a job 20 minutes away and my son has a summer job 5 minutes away. There isn't anymore weekend warriors in this park. The park is strictly full timers. Not sure if we will stay here for more than a year. We do want to do some traveling and are just needing to be wise about when and how long we're gone.

      Hi @scottvickery2057 it depends on the RV Park. Some allow them, but you have to pay for it and leave them if you depart. Some already have them pre-built. All depends on the "rv park owner" I would say see what others are doing. To me, being stationary in an RV defeats the purpose of being in an RV. In some areas you could easily buy a house for the same or less than what you paid for the camper. And the house goes up in value. If I were stationary, I would go for a mobile home and have more space that’s better built.

    Ah, ever heard of depreciating assets though? So unless you tell me your RV is worth more after 5 years than you bought it, you have still less than a mortgage towards a house that cyclically will be worth more over time.

    • @RVersity
      @RVersity  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi @vtr-vegasteslarides569 🙋‍♀️ Thanks for watching and chiming in! YES normally I'd say RVs are depreciating assets especially a new one. BUT, there was a HUGE shift over the past few years that did allow A LOT of people (including me) to SELL their RVs for MORE $$$ than they paid for! Supply & Demand. I think it all depends on people's reason for RV Living especially Stationary in an RV Park. Paying for an apartment doesn't add any value to your portfolio either. Same with a mortgage it all only works out as planned if you pay it down, get the right loan terms, etc... WHY are you thinking about "Stationary RV Living" and buying an RV?

    This might be a silly question, but I've never lived in an RV. When you say you haven't moved it for a year, does that mean you can drain the water and stuff like that from your parked spot? Or do you have to drive it to another water hook up place on the property? Thanks!

    Question: how long can you keep an rv parked before the elements/moisture starts to ruin everything? Wouldn't you have to buy a newer one every 6 or 7 years? Sitting in one spot, wouldn't that wreck the tires? Thanks

    • @RVersity
      @RVersity  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Karen! Great question 🙋‍♀️ even while the RV is parked I still reseal the roof! Wash the RV. My tires are covered, and the tires are also coated with a film that helps protect them. The stabilizer jacks are down and that helps relieve some pressure off the tires also we have installed some jacks under the slides to help with stability. Tires are replaceable! They’re just regular tires 🛞 also if we ever move our RVs we have an air compressor - always check the pressure before moving. I made some more videos about my rv park life you can watch below! The ones that I’ve visited all have clauses that say no more than 150-180 days consecutive or whatever. That has been a real problem and I’d love if anyone knows any way around that? Maybe? Hi @RealBadKompany 🙋‍♀️ YES the rent is usually cheaper when living Stationary in your RV and leaves you with extra money to buy nicer things! Love the way you think about that! Thanks for watching! I'm so glad you enjoyed these stationary RV Pros & Cons! Also, if you enjoyed this video I made an entire playlist of Stationary RVing Videos you can binge watch 👉 ruclips.net/p/PL40DcZKtlqbONLBI-fuJraB_-T1PXOb1e -- ❤️ @BloggingBrandi

    Hey there, I've been thinking a lot about stationary RV living for a while and one of my biggest questions is how well the slides hold up. If I plan to be stationary (and I mean really stationary, as in rarely if ever moving the RV once it's placed) it would be nice to keep the slides open as much as possible for the extra room. They wouldn't be getting bounced around from driving and I could always put some kind of tarps and weather sealant on them, or at least that's what I figure. Do you or any of the other RV lifers that you know keep their slides open more or less year round?

      Most guys get an awning for the slides if you’re gonna leave it out full-time

      @@Ray96744 Is that safe for the slide and the home itself though? I'm assuming that the slides aren't meant to spend months or years left open but I wouldn't know.

      theres a video on yt shows a gal that uses that wavy style plastic sheeting on top of her slides (hold in place with a rock) it drains the water off very easily; much cheaper than slider awnings and no leaks!

    Wait wait wait just a min! Lol did you just say that these Super Expensive depreciating vehicle homes don't actually keep you cool or warm ? My god that is a deal breaker for about 98% of people who wants to live in a box with no AC because you just basically said it doesn't cool your rv enough meaning its uncomfortable, wow
