Thanks for watching this week's video! Drop me a comment below and let me know any tips that you've found effective for music career success that I may have missed! 🤔
sorry to be off topic but does someone know a method to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow lost my account password. I love any assistance you can offer me!
Been doing all sorts of music for the last 15 years and just started freelancing. Just wanted to say this really helped focus my approach, really well articulated. Thankyou.
Thanks so much for this. I needed exactly this to feel better about the path I’ve been taking. I left my job last year and have been working and fortifying myself on video art and 30 years of beat making. Instant subscription. Thanks again.
Great tips that are musts for any occupation. The one that resonates most with me is not waiting or seeking for external validation - once I stopped seeking that, my whole mindset changed. Great video and new fan here.
That's fantastic to hear, I'm glad these tips resonate across industries! All that matters is how you feel about your work and your own personal growth. Congratulations on making a massive step with that one! Do you have any other tips that have helped you succeed?
Thanks Marina! It's all part and parcel of going it alone in the big world of freelance! Do you have any tips that have helped you and your great channel to take off? 😊
I love that you say "Making it doesn't exist." And if we let go of the idea of making it, and focus more on what different elements of our industry we enjoy... that's a much happier journey! Amen! So, so true. Not always easy to remember, but makes all the difference! And yes! Pursue Excellence, not Perfection. I look forward to being able to call myself a "reformed perfectionist" as well! This isn't even my exact industry, but the ideas in your video really resonate with me. (One question about YT editing: How do you block out each section of your video like you did? That's a cool thing I'm not sure I've seen before. And as a viewer, that's really helpful!) Thanks again for your informative and inspiring video!
Nice video...The Journey is what grows talent, either through playing an instrument(s); and writing music, lyrics; then Production!!! I've been on a LONG journey!!! I have enjoyed it since I started and until NOW...30+ years later!!! Still writing and playing, mixing, producing every day...just need more hours in a day!!! Validation...best understanding its just me and my grind!!! Following your channel!
I agree with the time!! We all want things now! But everything takes time and also it's all about the journey you're so right! :D Really helpful video and can be applied to people outside the music industry too!
Definitely one of the key ones here. Having a goal to pursue is important but it's definitely worth working out what that goal specifically is instead of consistently trying to "make it".
Hi Sara, thanks for getting in touch! In terms of cover songs, you're in a great and lucrative market. By releasing cover music, it means that you already have an audience waiting (the same audience of the original artist in question!). A great strategy would be to try and identify their fanbase online and find a way to reach them and make sure that they hear your music. :) I would love to hear one of your covers so please do post a link in the comments below!
Such a useful video. Congrats that the leap and glad it worked out well for you. Have you checked out 'Your Music and People' by Derek Sivers. I am sure you'd love it!!
