Thats why when you look around you see fat, mean, aggressive women and scrawny, scared, confused young men. Example: During WW2 you had young men lying about their age to get into the service to fight the Germans. Now, you can't get a 30 year old man out of his single mothers basement to get a job and put the weed down, let alone be a leader of men and stand for something greater than himself. Especially when there is opposition telling that young man that he should be ashamed of the testosterone in his body. Very confusing times right now for a young man in the US. BUT, the universe always balances itself out.

Now worth 500k. Financially sorted for retirement. My final salary pension is stopped, they can't afford them anymore, I need to move and can't sell my house, due to brexit (which boomers voted for). Kids need to save 40k deposit in the Uk to get a house and often leave uni with 40k debt to go into a zero hour contract, part-time job on 8-10 pound per hour. These are facts, not opinion. For the complainers about college debt, working fulltime through college, graduated debt free. Did I have time to party? NO! Between shifts I napped, and studied. Was it worth it? Of course. 4 years of sacrifice, no social life and little rest, meant NOT BEING A SLAVE TO THE BANKS.
Marta Altheide good for you Marta, I hope you managed to have some fun during those years, you're only young once and it seems your a very disciplined lady.
Well...although I get your point, and it's a good one, if you're earning federal reserve notes, you're most definitely a slave to the banks. Not your fault; college won't teach you that part.
To a large extent, college grads are useless. In the real world engineers and the workers who realize their concepts are useful. Get an education to become an electrician, a plumber, a builder, welder or any of the useful trades. Otherwise, you will have to become a total sellout who bends over for the days pay.
Marta Altheide........ I am intelligent enough to have earned scholarships that paid for 100% of my education because I'm gifted. So while you look down on those people complaining about their student debt, I look down on you for being of inferior intelligence.
Your generation didn't have to receive any education beyond secondary school, you finished school, got a job in a factory and were able to use that income to buy a house, a car, raise 3 kids and often support a non-working spouse. That same factory job today pays enough to just about not live in poverty, our generation work our holes off to get masters degrees only to live paycheck to paycheck. You were born into an economy that values hard work, WE were born into an economy that only benefits sub-contractors and the 1%. The reality is that the traditional 9-5 DOES NOT WORK for millennials due to the economic situation that YOUR GENERATION has created for us. The reason we put value on having experiences is because we'll never be able to afford our own homes regardless. The same sense of life satisfaction boomers enjoyed is not available to us, so we seek satisfaction via other means.
David K what? You’re timely I see. Stop whining and make something of yourself. Be productive at something. I’m not a baby boomer. You must not know what hard work is or living within your means. If you can’t enter working life debt free, it’s your fault because you made the choices. Typical of your generation, nothing is your fault, though. I understand. Where my generation went wrong was creating a fake world where everyone is a winner and no one loses. We’ve lied to you. That fault I will claim for my generation. I won’t claim it personally because my children have grown up and are productive. If you examine your life and can’t articulate where you are productive and contribute to society, I would declare you a failure to this point in life. But this is America. You can choose a different outcome for yourself. Consider yourself blessed that that is true.
@@ranger894 Oh of course! Don't engage with any of my points, just berate me instead! What a great approach. Housing and education costs have tripled in the past 40 years while workers' wages have remained stagnant. Housing is virtually unattainable to our generation unless inherited. University wasn't a problem for me because I'm not American, so my education was free, but education is becoming more and more unattainable for Americans as the years pass. The issue here is the economic injustice left behind by your generation, but I suppose you don't want to engage with that. You just want to rant about us being lazy and failures. Charming.
Hard to reply to any of your points when they are so totally off the mark personally and toward my generation. You started this interchange as though you know me and that I had some unfair advantage to my stage in life that you don’t have. You are simply wrong and fail to know how to take advantage of the opportunities you have. I conceded that my generation has failed to raise you properly because you hold an improper view that things are owed to you and you should never feel the hardships of failure. In my personal case we are blessed to have not done so with our children who are highly productive and active at making a contribution to society rather than demanding things and blaming me for your lack of ability to develop a beneficial character. Good luck to you.

Cant agree more. At 35, with a wife and 2 kids, 2 vehicles, a mortgage, 5 yrs military service, and a 15 yr aviation career, it disgusts me to be in the same category as these “kids” just because of my birth year. Millenial to me is a mindest, not a birthyear. I work with several 20 to 25-year-olds who are actually decent people that work hard and have a decent head on their shoulders. @@Alex.1739 From my (as limited as it may be) 38 years on earth I can see that we're living in the "easy times" right now.
Vernon Huffman you moron, a pathetic stupid rant from an entitled millennial not understanding how hard actual millennials have to work to buy a house, pay off debt, save for the future, whilst the generation she is lauding sold all the assets, have themselves cushy pensions and bought all the cheap housing. Stupidity begets stupidity.
I'm 41 by the way. And left home at 18, worked very hard in a demanding but well paid job, saved, bought a house etc but I look at my Dads generation, 30k final salary pension.Bought his house for 35k, 35 year ago. Tell me which generation had it worse??
I like him, his compliments to her were thoughtful and heartfelt.
She said and delivered everything in this interview perfectly. Such an amazing person.
girl your so right, thank you for your REAL contribution, i was born in 1994 and i just do NOT identify or relate to the average person my age, i havnt since i was young, i see the same issues daily and im so glad to see this went so viral, your a real role model.
A young lady that’s a lady! How refreshing! God bless you young lady. We know that there are people out there like you, and we applaud you. Please continue to be an example for your peers, you are the future.
She's smart and beautiful. Great millennial!
My daughter is a hard worker working 12 hour shifts. She bought her first house at age 23. So there are a few millennials out there with good morals and work ethic. 😊
I'm guessing you are not a single mother.
@@Glasshopper Why? I'm one and my daughter bought one at 22 and 1/2. She's now working on her postgraduate while working her regular job and another P/T. She pays all her bills on her own. What does being married have to do with raising a great child??

Need more sweet and honest people like this in the world today.
Beautiful young lady, so smart. Thank you. My grandson is a good person.

Finally a millenial I can agree with!!
A millennial is anyone from 24-35, so you must not get out much.
Ok boomer
@John2265 Sure, insult the generation that was drafted into Vietnam or joined willingly. People who didn't get to play on their phones all day. Tell me what brave things Millennials are doing?
A self aware millennial & honest - well done her.
Marcus McIntyre More divided than the civil war? More divided than before and during the civil rights movement? Saying Yes ma’am and no sir don’t make you less or more of a productive citizen. Very few "UM" "LIKE" "UH" sounds come out of her mouth. She's so articulate and bright. Too bad this is wasted on her vapid peers.
Very eloquent
Unlike hillary in her last interviews.

She should have a spot in Trumps cabinet as a "Millennial Adviser" .
Trump sits on his fat ass and watches fox news all day.
I love this woman because she is telling the truth.
I agree fully. But I also love her because she reminds me of the late 1960s Doors song, "Hello, I love you, Won't you tell me you name .... " LOL
She's right, unfortunately I fall under the millennial era but I respect my elders and work hard. Not all young people are lazy, entitled crybabies...but i'de say 75% are.
Do you have any facts to back up that number you just pulled out your arse
Good on ya mate! Keep up the good work.. Of course you are a millenial though, named Chad.. Don't tell me you have a gal named Stacy? lol..
Tzim L what about Vietnam and korea and ww2 and ww1?
Lawrence Haynes Jesus Christ it’s colon sense. There’s an age limitation on who can join the army so it’s only fair to say most ppl in the army are millennials since the age cut off is like 33. And you can’t join til you are 18. Do the math.

My mother grew up in a time where people said no ma'am and yes ma'am but that was a very long time ago. It's a shame kids aren't brought up that way any more.
It's almost like a lack of discipline or something...
Who gave you the discipline in your house, your mother or your father?
Still think it's a good idea to keep children from their fathers by weaponizing divorce laws?
You can either have single mothers en mass, or you can have people with manners and ethics. But you can't have both.

So you had to sactifice fun and social interaction in order to get off debt-free? that's a prettty shitty system
You’re all taught to have an “experience” instead of producing results or producing anything of real value for the world. She is right.

David N In today's so called academia, "professors" teach that American has never been great and that we and Western Christian-Judeo values are to blame for every ill in world history.
Its your attitude, work ethic, and the way you treat other people that should determine your true character, not the year you were born.
What about Gen Y? I think 80's babies are gen Y (90s kids) and millennials were born in the 90s (2000s kids) Then Gen Z are the children of Gen Y's and possibly the oldest of millennials. What comes next?
