Some really strong lessons in this video. During that spin we may have been missing a small amount of concentration as we're thinking about the car we passed. Just a hunch. During your first few rallies your brain is often swimming or it's at least trying to doggie paddle.

Do ARA officials track your speed through the 'virtual chicanes' using the Rally Safe system, or some other means?
The old style REAL cone chicanes we stage workers/volunteers used to have to setup were a pain (tape measures to set the spacing accurately, etc.).
Then we had to go out and shag the cones, a la autocross course workers after a crew took one out (some crews even took the cone with them in their bumpers/wheel wells, so we had to have 'spares'! 🤣).

I noticed that for Rally Portugal this past weekend, they had most (all??) of the starts on tarmac, and then immediately turned into the gravel stage roads.
I am guessing it is done to create parity for all those down the start list, so that they do not have to battle 2 foot deep ruts for their start??
(With the added benefit of lessening the erosion, at least in the most torn up spot on any given stage, caused by the event, maybe?)
