  • The best knee arthritis exercise really depends on where you are in your knee osteoarthritis. Treating knee arthritis really is a process and cannot be fixed by one single exercise done repeatedly over time. This is why sometimes an exercise will help for a while and then eventually the pain might return.
People that suffer from knee arthritis often find 1 exercise they like that makes them feel better - like cycling for example. Then they’ll invest in a bike and keep doing that with hopes of making the knee arthritis problem go away. But that’s just not the full picture for treating a knee osteoarthritis problem. Once the knee improves, then it’s important to start to work on exercises that progress you through the next phase.
In this video, Dr. David overviews the different phases of knee arthritis and shows you examples of what exercises you might be doing depending on what phase you’re in for your knee arthritis.

@@phannavan yes it can be main thing is offloading of any abnormal pressure if it is there supplements may help maintain overall health but a strong joint requires stronger muscles too. Some changes are irreversible but manageable

Hi Divyashree, if you can do it without feeling any pain and you are using proper form it should be fine but we do recommend doing gentle stretches. There is a concern of over stretching so please proceed with caution.

Praying for some help, for the last six months I’ve been having knee pain when standing in both knees. It starts after only ten minutes or so. I’m only 30, I have complete range of motion in my knees. It feels better when sitting down but starts again once I start standing. Physical therapy hasn’t helped or the chiropractor.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

Every stair one takes will put more pressure on the joint than the "baby-squat". At the same time, you are not supposed to do more than the "baby-squat" for up to a year? How realistic is that ?
