Thanks for your Ayreon reaction. Arjen’s music can’t get enough promotion. And he very generously shares his music on YT. Arjen is a bit of a social recluse. His life revolves around music and that is all he has time for. Sincehe lives in the city of Tilburg which city has a nice music theater, that’s where he went when the idea of doing a life show came up.
And I suspect that will not change for any future shows. At the September 2023 show I met 2 guys from Chili, a Canadian fan and a couple from Norway (we were waiting in line to get in the venue). So if you want to exoerience this musical spectacle live you better decide to travel to Tilburg. 😂 From personal experience I get tell you it is worth the trip.
One of these days I need to get out there and see the show live. Let’s hope this channel blows up, so I can afford it : )

Arjen and Robert sifted through a 30-year-old cassette tape containing their demos and stumbled upon a bluesy, unfinished piece featuring just Arjen's guitar and Robert's voice. Arjencompletely forgot about it, but felt it had the potential to be something special.He's glad yhey pursued it, because it turned out to be one of the album's highlights!

Ayreon isn't a band, it's a project like" Guilt Machine, Star One, Electric Castle etc. And you can do a trip to the Netherlands. Greetings from the Netherlands.
I would love to go to the Netherlands. One day my bank account will agree with me : ) If and when that happens I will 100% plan it around an Ayreon show. Thank you for your support

Went to Tilburg this past September for the first time to see Ayreon. Been a fan since the late 90's. You will never experience anything like it. Make the trip. So worth it. Watch The Sixth Extinction. That was the concert I got to see. And yes, we are rabid...lol!
OMG, that is Awesome!!!! I just watched the Sixth Extinction (reaction coming soon). I couldn’t get over how much talent was on one stage. I’ll bet it was amazing! Thank you for sharing

I have never seen that version of The Scarecrow befor. Looks cooler than the version from Wacken 2008 🙂. But I think I prefer Tobias vocals on the 2008 version (sounds a lot more intense) and I feel lika that version is better mixed.

Ayreon is so great. Anneke's voice sends me in a state, how can she sound so pure! And on the bass guitar here Johan van Stratum, he is currently touring with Blind Guardian, so you will be seeing him live at least.
I think the topic of fan bases and rabid fans is interesting and warrants a discussion. The phenomenon of someone way too obsessed with - anything really - goes beyond the world of music. Tank the Tech did a nice video about it recently, I recommend it, he makes very good points. But also when we think sports. Films or series. Some people take it too far. There's a reason why I'm not in any fanclubs at all, because a lot of people become unhinged - or maybe the unhinged minority takes over. Some Nightwish fans make me super uncomfortable, and I have been a fan almost 20 years. It's like, according to them, you're not allowed to enjoy something without having it consume your identity, and that's a scary attitude.
Ayreon fans are some of the chillest I've seen, although maybe I'm just lucky and haven't encountered the rabid ones yet 😂 I third the suggestion for Avantasia.
Awesome, I will look out for Johan : ) I did see that video from Tank. I really like his take on things. One think I like about doing these videos is when I drop them I never know what kind of fanbase I am going to get. So far they have all been pretty friendly and nice to talk to, but sometimes you wild stuff comparing singers to Gods and stuff like that. I love a lot of bands and artists, but to me they are just really talented people and not godlike.
@@MattsMoshPit1 I am not religious or believing in any way, music can definitely be alike to a spiritual experience as far as I can understand it, but it is still done by humans. Which is the really cool thing about it! You go and listen to Peer Gynt or Kullervo, or Rime of the ancient mariner, or Cell-0, or Ghost love score if you want, and it's done by the same kind of being you are and not by a supernatural entity. That's honestly so great!

I’m sure rabid fans are great for getting a lot of views and engagement on a reaction but I also think that some fans take it to far. The comments can get really nasty on a reaction video that isn’t 100% positiv for some bands/artists.
If you like Ayreon then you would probably like Avantasia. It’s not exactly the same, more like traditional power metal, but it’s an other project with vocalists from several different bands. ”Avantasia - The Scarecrow (The Flying Opera) live HD” can be a good video to start with if you want to check them out.

@@MattsMoshPit1Same band but I would recomend the version I suggested over the one from 2017. It’s from a DVD and the sound quality and mixning is much better. And I think Tobias vocals are better in the 2008 version but l’m not sure everbody would agree on that 🙂.
Ayreon doesnt really have a huge fanbase. Not like A Nightwish or anything, or anything close. It is a very passionate cult fanbase though. Not rabid though, but very chill!
I guess these reacts have actually increased the fan base a lot since they do so well given all the famous singers.
So far the fanbase has been very friendly and fun to talk to. Instead of rabid, I should have said passionate.
Just pronounce Ayreon without the 'y' and you will get it right: A reon.
