Great reaction and comments Buckeye. There are some really great A Cappella groups to enjoy, Home Free, PTX and of course Voice Play to name a few. Personally, I love VP out of them all for their "theatrics" , why they are referred to as the "theatre kids". They have done a boat load of covers in full character theatrics from clothing and make ups and incredible set designs that bring a whole new dimension to the songs they are covering. This one was pretty simple but they will blow your mind with many many others. Cheers. 🥰🥰
THANK YOU! As a huge VoicePlay addict, I LOVE watching people hear them for the first time. VP always respects the original, and they always make the covers their own. I'm guessing you might like 'In the Air Tonight', Creep, Dream On, Queen in 5 minutes. But they do a wide, wide variety of songs, from Disney medleys, to themes from video games to, well - Metallica - and each is wonderfully done. I never walk away without a smile on my face. For your wife - bring her in and listen to Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci's personal channel (the bass) - check out 16 Tons, Till Then, Ain't No Sunshine. Geoff's voice is a special thrill.
Idk PTX still so great home free losing Austin may have killed them . Voice play is the best at bringing people in with them . Fun songs too so each group is great in some ways .
@@heinz57channel39, would PTX be so great without commercial backing and monetary support? I really, really, really doubt it. This is why I like VoicePlay and Home Free... they do it themselves and don't sound overprocessed, for the most part.
Welcome to the #Voiceplay family!! You'll get a lot support from all of us. You'll love Voiceplay's versions of Valhalla Calling, Creep, Hoist The Colours, Hellfire, Warriors, Dream On, Lion Sleeps Tonight. Enjoy!!
Their voices do that to me too! I hope to see a lot more of them on your channel😊 The guys are Independent and do most of the work themselves. They will get outside cameramen and makeup if it's elaborate costuming they need. The arrangements and lighting and first mix are all them. They will send the music off to a guy named Ed Boyer who does a lot of the Acapella final mix for several more well known groups. Enjoy the Rabbit Hole!
That you were overcome by emotion speaks so loudly about your appreciation! A cappella can be a very high impact way to present music. When well-done, the harmonies seem to pull at our minds AND hearts. VoicePlay is amazing. No matter what you pick for reactions, you will be very happy! Outstanding reaction!!
This was a lovely reaction to an absolutely wonderful group. Geoff, the bass, did the genius arrangement for this one. I cried when I first heard this too! You are so going to enjoy their other content.
I am glad you checked out Voiceplay. They are truly impressive as an a cappella group. This video was only one of the three where you get treated to Layne's violin. They do not make a habit of using instruments in their a cappella performances. Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci is the bass singer for Voiceplay. He has many fans. He is also a friend of Tim Foust of Home Free.
Welcome to the wonder that is VoicePlay! They're an amazing group - independent, do all the work themselves. They cover pretty much every genre: pop, Disney, folk, rock you name it. You're about to have FUN.
I Love independent artists for that reason, I love to react to independent artist to help push their music. I cannot wait to listen to and react to more of their music. Thank you for being here for it!
Beautiful reaction!! ❤ I went nuts when they first released this, lol. It remains a favorite for me. I hope you continue down this amazing rabbit hole. Just pick a song you like and enjoy the ride. Another favorite for me is their cover of Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight."
This is Geoffs' arrangement. Left to right you have Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci Bass, J.None Baritone, Eli (Ellie) Jacobson Tenor 1, Cesar De La Rosa Baritone, Layne Stein Beatboxer, Baritone, and VioLayne. #TheatreKidsOfACapella. If you have seen their channel they do everything from Metallica to Disney. Geoff has his own channel where he does LOW Bass covers. Pick anything you like and we will be here.
Finding Voiceplay with THIS song is like discovering KISS with Detroit Rock City, Elvis Presley with Jailhouse Rock, or Phil Collins with In the air Tonight. (By the way, Voiceplay covers that last one, also)
Welcome to Voiceplay 🙂. The group began in 1997 under the name "4:2:Five", and changed their name to "Voiceplay" in 2012. They underwent a number of changes in their lineup, especially in the last few years. This video shows their latest lineup. From left to right: - Geoff ("Jeff") Castellucci, bass (duh!), used to arrange about half of their stuff (including this one). He is one of the two remaining founding members. - J None, baritone, he was a permanent member until 2021 when he went to the Navy to sing with them for 5 years. He still records with the group when on leave. - Eli (rhymes with "jelly") Jacobson, tenor and rock God of Asgard (watch their version of "Valhalla calling" and you'll see why 😁). Usually takes care of the lights and backgrounds, from now on he'll take on about a third of the arrangements. His arrangement of Radioheads' "Creep" is sheer beauty. - Cesar de La Rosa, baritenor, the latest member of the group. Versatile voice who IMHO gives his best in soft, breathy, emotional parts... But can go into berserk mode, or reach incredibly high notes. - Layne Stein, aka VioLayne, beatboxer and baritone, the other remaining founding member and arranger of the other half of the songs. Oh, and he's also the Carrots Lord, but it's a long story 😅. They are totally independent, so they have total artistic freedom. And are reactors-friendly. You won't get blocked by them! 🙂 They cover pretty much all genres I can think of, from Disney (all of them have a background of working for either Disney or Universal theme parks, or both...) to roc to Broadway to video games soundtracks (their versions of Halo Theme and The Dragonborn comes - Skyrim are just phenomenal), to pop to melodic pop to whatever. Even classical music (they have an hilarious, yet virtuosic, cover of "In the hall of the Mountain King" that is a must watch). And they kinda OWN Halloween... 😁 I think you could like to explore their deep rabbit hole... And I'd suggest you to try their "post-apocalyptic Trilogy", which consists of Imagine Dragons' "Warriors", Aerosmith's "Dream on", and White Stripes' "7 Nation Army". But you could pick ANY title that tickles you, there are no "bad" things in their repertoire 😁. Geoff Castellucci has his own solo channel, started when Covid disrupted their touring activity. Another beautiful rabbit hole. If you decide to give it a try, which I hope (and you won't regret), remember that, with the only exception of one Christmas video titled "Mele Kalikimaka", all voices you hear in his videos are his, and all characters you see are him! 😉 Just subscribed in anticipation of more VP, HF and possibly Geoff. See you next time!
Davide- I always enjoy reading your comments. You echo a lot of the things I’m thinking of writing down and now I don’t have to do it. That doesn’t keep me from writing really really long, it of my own, but you often point out things that I had not thought of.I just wanted you to know from another commentor how perceptive your comments are.
Welcome to the Voice Play journey. Their cover of "Hellfire" from Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame, is also a great listen. No theatrics, just amazing voices. Also, you really should check out their cover of "Valhalla Calling". I believe you will really enjoy those.
The amazing thing about vp that makes them the best acapella is not only do they do everything themselves but they just do everything. They don't specialize in a style of music so they have something for every one and every mood.
Thanks for a great and heartfelt reaction. Another Metallica song that they covered recently was "Whiskey in the Jar.", But unlike Nothing Else Matters, which obviously had a lot of elements that were paying homage to Metallica's arrangement, they went back to the old Irish /folk song feel for "Whiskey", so don't expect it to echo Metallica's version. But it will definitely give you a chance to hear more of this gorgeous set of voices. VoicePlay has always said that there is no point in doing a cover if all you're going to do is a copy and paste version of the original. So, there's always something unique about how they approach any song.
Dear sir, every member here has at least 3 octaves range. Mr. Castellucci (Bass) is said by vocal coaches, to have 5 octaves. I realy wish you the best and fun with this down to Earth people. VoicePlay and Angelina Jordan are my kind of music. Elmar from Germany
Great reaction to an absolutely beautiful song. I am in my 70s and missed the whole loud metal music era. I usually found the instrumentation too loud and I do like listening to the lyrics. So I skipped that whole era. But VoicePlay reworks some incredibly beautiful songs and makes it accessible to me in my dotage😊. Because of them I have discovered new groups that I never would’ve thought to listen to and re-listened to songs that were just a little too loud for me but are outstanding songs. I think that’s their genius. They are not only worrying about the music but trying to express the meaning behind the lyrics. I also missed the whole Aerosmith era. But their cover of Dream On is absolutely fantastic. You might like to watch their post apocalyptic trio : Warriors (Imagine Dragons), Dream On and 7 Nation Army (White Stripes). I’m guessing from your reference to Home Free and your cowboy hat that you probably like some of the more country style tunes. VoicePlay covers a lot of genres but they have done some that you might enjoy: Daddy Sang Bass, Can’t Make You Love Me and one of my favorites Tennessee Whisky. For a totally different take, check out their tongue in cheek Bro Country. It is one of their ACA Top Tens where they take snippets of 10 songs and put them together in a medley. These are almost always done without any post production. It features guest artist Chris Rupp who cofounded Home Free with his brother Adam who still remains as their boxer. The bass singer, Geoff Castellucci, has a solo channel and many of his selections have country roots. He was born in Virginia and he tends to honor that part of his heritage. He has performed Folsom Prison Blues, Take Me Home Country Roads, Shenandoah, 16 Tons among others. When he does his solo channel, he does add instrumentation which he provides by using his keyboard and musical plug-ins. He also will usually clone himself and film several versions of himself. He likes to arrange for four and five part harmonies and he usually puts in a version of himself for every section. One of my favorites which is one where he shows a lot of humor and is his cover of Elvis’s Way Down. if you’ve watched Home Free, you’ve probably seen their Man of Constant SorroW. He also did a completely different take on it that’s well worth a watch. I’m subscribing in hopes that you’re going to cover more of them. They are my favorite group. Even though I am not a real big country fan I do watch quite a bit of Home Free. They often will cross into different genres and they obviously love what they do just as these guys do. They’re always worth it watch. Another group that you might enjoy is The Bass Gang. Four bass singers that met through the Internet during Covid. Two in the US, one in the Czech Republic and one in Egypt. They asked Tim Foust to collaborate with them and they did the song Hooked on a Feeling and it is a treat
So happy you enjoyed VoicePlay. They really are a musical gem, in one video they make you laugh, in another they make you wanna rock out, and then they can bring you to tears. If you love Metallica, I think you may like "Carry On Wayward Son" or their version of "Dream On." VoicePlay is eclectic, if nothing else, and have such a spread of genres that it's easy to find songs you love. And don't worry about talking too much. We LOVE to hear people talk about their music. That's why we're here! BTW, your wife may like their version of "Can't Help Falling in Love With You." As a wife myself, it's my favorite love song from them. Perhaps a good one for Valentine's Day.
Great reaction. It is always fun seeing someone react to VoicePlay for the first time. As far as what other songs to react to, you really can't go wrong with any of their stuff so just pick something that looks interesting to you.
Chicago was playing in mid November in New Jersey. They saw this one by VoicePlay and called and wanted them to come and be a part of their Chicago and Friends concert. I found one of Geoff Castellucci's solo in Oct 2 yrs ago. He was doing Monster Mash which I loved as a kid. I watched and listened, looked him up and found he was also in VoicePlay. So, since I was smitten, I started on all of Geoff's solos and VoicePlay's videos which put me at 834 videos. It was amazing. Hardly a day's gone by that I don't listen to them. I love finding a reactor that loves this music - you are one. It's like going to the Grand Canyon and next you want to bring someone with you so you can see the wonder in their eyes. Welcome to the rabbit hole. They did NEM a little more than a year ago and a couple days from my birthday. It felt like a beautiful present. A few of my favorites: In the Air Tonight, I Can't Make You Love Me, Tennessee Whiskey, Valhalla Calling, Dragonborn Comes Skyrim, Little Mermaid, In the Hall of the Mountain King, Creep, Drunken Sailor and their newest The Lion Sleeps Tonight. As a Home Fry, you might like to see and hear a blast from the days when both Home Free and VoicePlay were on the Sing-Off. After the competition VoicePlay and Home Free did Survivor: Zombies vs Hillbillies. Consider yourself subscribed too.
Voiceplay is able to take any piece of music, whether I loved it, hated it, or never heard of it, and make it one of my favorites. Well, at least their version of it is my favorite! A couple of my favorites are In the Air Tonight and Hoist the Colours from Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Subscribed in anticipation of more Voiceplay.
You know, I think a lot of us who love VoicePlay come to the reactions to see the "GeoffQuakes" when he hits those super low notes, or in the case of this song, that moment when Layne catches the violin and begins to play. When you took off your glasses just before that moment, my first thought was, "No! You're going to miss it!" And then I realized you'd been moved to tears by their performance, and suddenly the gotcha didn't matter anymore. Just seeing how much you love this song, and how much you were touched by these guys' performance of it, was absolutely the best thing in this reaction. I know you're not going to cry at every song you hear, but I'm a new subscriber, hoping to get to watch you react to more songs by this group that has become my obsession, to see why I and so many others like me love their music, and what Geoff calls their "own brand of dumb." I think you're in for a fun ride.
Absolutely love VPs rock covers even though their genre range is huge. "Carry on Wayward Son" (Kansas), "Dream On" (Aerosmith), "In the Air Tonight" (Phil Collins), "Seven Nation Army" (White Stripes), "Creep" (Radiohead) just to mention a few. However, choose your genre, take your pick and go - they never, ever disappoint. Every now and again they whip out the VioLayne (The percussionist's name is Layne 😉). These guys are incredibly talented and wonderful human beings to boot. Looking forward to more!!!!🌹🕊
One of our favorite things, as Voiceplay fans, is watching someone react to them for the first time and this was a beautiful reaction. There is something incredibly special about Voiceplay. They are my favorite of the acapella Big Three (Home Free & Pentatonix being the other two) because fo the emotional connection they have to everything they sing. They can make you laugh, move you to tears, pump your adrenaline, break your heart, and then put it back together again. Sometimes all in the same song! They have brought me to tears many times. Some of their songs, like their cover of Creep or I Can't Make You Love Me, make me cry every time, even though I have heard and seen them hundreds of times at this point. Please keep watching Voiceplay. If you want something more upbeat, I recommend Carry On My Wayward Son or Valhalla Calling, which was inspired by the Assassins Creed, Valhalla video game. For a more creepy vibe go with Hoist The Colors from Pirates of the Caribbean or Oogie Boogie's Song from The Nightmare Before Christmas. The bass singer, Geoff Castellucci (Jeff Cast-a-loo-chee) also has a solo channel and his cover of Fulsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash or Man of Constant Sorrow are second to none. Although you can't go wrong with anything on either of their channels. Looking forward to more VP & Geoff and subscribed in anticipation!
Thank you for sharing your reaction to this beautiful piece. It's a moving song to begin with, but VoicePlay elevates that to a new level, in my opinion. The respect they showed by choosing to include the full instrumental intro and outro, among other things, has made this a favorite of mine since they created it a little over a year ago. Some other VoicePlay masterpieces I recommend are Hoist the Colours, Valhalla Calling, Seven Nation Army, Creep and their recent cover of The Lion Sleeps Tonight, but you can choose just about any song in their channel and be confident it will be well worth your time. Their bass singer, Geoff Castellucci, also has a solo channel full of amazing covers in which he sings _all_ the parts (he has a five-octave range.) Liked and subscribed, looking forward to more!
VoicePlay are in a league of their own being often very theatrical, often lots of fun, but they can cover any genre from Disney to rock and anything in between. So you're bound to find something your wife will like. They blow you away, don't they?
Welcome to the Voiceplay rabbit hole. They are an amazing group that perform a wide range of genres. If you need a break for something more light hearted you can check out their latest, The Lion Sleeps Tonight. For all the feels their cover of Creep, but bring some Kleenex. For your inner child any of their Disney covers.
There is something about their covers that somehow focus one more on the lyrics than the original and move one. I grew up listening to Aerosmith and loved "Dream On" back then. But their cover of it really brought the lyrics home to me in a new way that I found more meaningful. And their cover of RadioHead's "Creep" makes me cry over a song with lyrics I disliked until they did it. So, even though you already loved this song, I'm not surprised it could wring a tear or two out of you. Subscribing to watch your VoicePlay journey! Might want to check out Geoff's (Castellucci) solo channel as well. He's the bass on the far left of the screen.
Nice reaction to Voiceplay. I've enjoyed the three most acapella groups (Voiceplay, Homefree, and Pentatonix) but find Voiceplay to be the most creative, fun and expansive in the songs they cover. They tackle all genres and seem to have a lot of fun doing it.
Great reaction 😊 Welcome to the rabbit hole 😅 Voiceplay is independent and does all of their own arrangements and production. They do every genre from rock to Disney and never disappoint. Dream On is one of my favorites as well as Hoist The Colours. Have fun!
Welcome to the Voice Play rabbit hole! They have never done a bad cover. So no matter what you choose to listen to and react to, you can't go wrong. Geoff Castellucci (bass with a range of 5 octaves. B0-A5. Does subharmonic notes, too. Arranges, edits, his wife Cathy is VP's manager). J. None (baritone. Was a member but is now singing for the Navy. Steps in to sing pretty often). Eli Jacobson (tenor, rock tenor, new first time dad recently. Name pronounced Eli, like jelly). Cesar De la Rosa (baritone, quite the character). Layne Stein (beat boxer. Does sing in some videos, produces, arranges, etc.).
Great reaction and welcome to the rabbit hole known as VoicePlay 😊 For your next choice of song, I would highly recommend "Creep" which was originally by "RadioHead". You think this song was tearfully and moving...just wait til you hear Creep. ❤
VoicePlay are an absolutely amazing group of singers, with an incredibly diverse catalog of music and genres under their belts. They are also massively talented in other spheres as well, and 100% independent artists- Geoff Castellucci, the bass singer, was also the person who created this vocal arrangement, and the video was shot in the video production studio that Layne Stein, the vocal percussionist, co-owns with Tony Wakim (former VoicePlay baritone). Layne also does about half of the vocal arrangements, this being a duty that he and Geoff generally trade off. Eli (rhymes with 'jelly') Jacobson, the bald rock tenor, is a bit of a genius at lighting work, and generally does that for their videos, although I'm not sure if he did for this one. The exposed bulbs harken back to a solo video Geoff put out during the pandemic, when I'm pretty sure it was just himself and his wife, Kathy, who arranged the set and shot the video. Oh yeah, Geoff has a solo channel, and it's seriously a rabbithole of its own. He tends to cover a fair number of older tunes- Sixteen Tons, Big Bad John, Folsom Prison Blues- but will also wander into fantasy realms such as Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold from the Hobbit. Realistically though, he's another one that can't really be pigeonholed; the man has a 5 octave range and can sing pretty much anything he wants. His cover of Bill Withers' Ain't No Sunshine is amazing, and he creates an incredible driving rhythm in his verson of House of the Rising Sun. His solo work is not a cappella, so it's a bit different from his work with VoicePlay. When folks are first getting to know VoicePlay and Geoff, I always suggest that you just find something in their channel that speaks to you (as you did here), because whatever you pick, you will not be disappointed. These guys are imaginative, willing to work hard and push their limits, and to not take themselves too seriously despite their prodigious talents. They are also just lovely, humble human beings, which is just the delightful cherry on top. These guys are true artists, every one.
Hi, first off you do not talk to much, this is a reaction channel your suppose to talk and tell how and what you feel, if they don't want talking they can go to the original video, your doing great. Now about voiceplay, them and homefree are my fav, In fact they were both on the sing off but home free won, Voiceplay has gotten so much better from when they were on the show. Tim from homefree helped Geoff with pointers on going low. Geoff can now do it all, he use to be the beatbboxer and taught lane who is now their beatboxer. Some of my fav song from them are Valhalla calling, Oogie bogie song, Seven nation army, and just this week they put out The lion sleeps tonight.
I’m always on the search for new reactors. Their music is amazing and have many favorites and am also sometimes moved to tears as well. With Voiceplay they’ve become a security blanket of sorts because recently my safe place got torn apart when my friend passed. I’m glad I found your channel. Thank you.
I watch VP reactions all the time but I’ve never seen one this heartfelt. I love watching people react to them, especially when it’s out of their norm. This by far has been my favorite one. You should check out some more of the classics they do. Creep, Dream On, In the Air Tonight to name a few
Buckey, welcome to the Voice Play family. If you want a real tear jerker then you must please do a reaction video to Voice Plays cover of ( Creep ) . Please add Voice Plays cover songs ..Carry On Wayward Son originally by Kansas...Dream On originally by Aerosmith. .& Queen In 5 Minutes..a medley of Queen songs in a theatrical way. Voice Play knocks these 4 out of the ball park. Thank you so much for a priceless reaction to Voice Play. I am a new subscriber & hope to hear more Voice Play. Voice Play are known as The Theater Kids of Acapella. You will be amazed by what they do.
Any Voiceplay song is well worth listening to. They have yet to do anything mediocre. Thank you for playing it out to the end - many new reactors don't and there's often hidden gems at the end. Keep the tissues handy - many of their songs hit hard. Can't wait to see more reactions from you.
I really enjoyed your reaction to my favorite group so I liked and subscribed! They are truly incredible so I’m sure you will love whatever you choose next. But you might really enjoy their version of Dream On! ❤
Great reaction- thanks! I am a new subscriber to your channel looking forward to more reactions to Voice Play! I would recommend that you check out their playlist and start with songs you know and like for more Voice Play reactions- you will never be disappointed!
I really enjoyed seeing you be so moved by this. Thank you for sharing your open and honest reaction with us, and I look forward to seeing more of your Voiceplay (and possibly solo Geoff Castellucci - the bass singer here) reactions! This is truly one of my absolute favorites they've made!
VoicePlay are my joint-favourite a cappella group, alongside Home Free. Glad you gave them a go, and glad you enjoyed this cover so much - it's one of my favourites! _Valhalla_ _Calling_ is another must, but they have so so many brilliant songs. They are the "theatre kids" of a cappella, in choice of music but also in presentation. You will be entertained.
Isn't this FANTASTIC ! I love this rendition, and it is definitely one of Voiceplay's masterpieces ! Looking forward to any future reactions you may do to their music ! Subbed ! The human voice is what our minds and souls are most attuned to. Instrumentation is fine, but human beings are most attracted to and have the greatest affinity to the human voice.
❤I love your reactions because they are so genuine! This is my all-time favorite group, you have to do a deep dive on all their stuff...Check out Valhalla Calling if you haven't yet, you will be glad you did! I will be looking for more from you!
Their versions of Man in the Mirror and Oh Holy Night are epic!!❤ I also wanted to recommend Voctave. People seem to leave them out but they are incredible.
Hi! So glad you enjoyed this! Welcome to the Voiceplay Rabbit Hole, where wonderful theatricality is topped only by outstanding vocal skills (plus a few other skills)! I hope you don't mind, but here are some unofficial (but important!) rules for listening to Geoff/Voiceplay! I just came up with them on my own, but after years of being a Voiceplaya, I've found they're necessary for optimal Voiceplay (and to a degree, Home Free as well) listening. If you've already got some of them down, know I'm just posting the list, not criticizing your reactor skills! The rules: #1) VERY important! ALWAYS watch to the very end of the video, or at least a ways into the patrons scrolling. Often times it may LOOK like the video has ended, but there's an outro. Also, watching to the end lets you see their awesome cover art. #2) Always leave the closed captions on. Geoff's wife Kathy (who helps with their videos, she also appears in some, such an amazing woman!) has hearing loss, so sometimes there will be little hidden gems in the CC. #3) If you pause a video to speak, rewind it ten seconds before you start it again, to make sure you don't miss anything. #4) Don't look away from the screen, or close your eyes for more than a second, because, again, you might miss a visual gag or clever moment, or if you do, rewind. #5) Don't go into their videos with expectations on what the song will be like, i.e., that it will be the same as the original. These guys put their own spin on things. The only thing to expect, generally, is to be blown away by their sheer talent. #6) Unless you have a REALLY great speaker system with stereo sound, ALWAYS wear good headphones/earbuds with Voiceplay and Geoff. They do amazing little tricks you can only pick up with those hearing devices. Plus, some of Geoff's notes are so low you practically can't hear them without headphones.
Glad to see you were blown away by them! As we all were, even those of us who have been their fans for years! This is my favorite Voiceplay line-up too, with Cesar (far right) and J. None (directly to the left of Geoff in this). There have been different line-ups through the years, so don't be surprised if the core members' faces change as you go back farther in time. With J. None on a sabbatical of sorts (the Naval Choir asked him to sing with them), they have different guests for each song. But fear not, because they always find the PERFECT guest for each song! Oh, and FYI, from left to right facing the screen we have: Geoff Castellucci (cast-teh-loo-chee) A Bass like no other. He has a solo channel too, full of "Deep Bass Covers" and other neat stuff. For a good Geoff starter, I recommend "I See Fire" or "Jack's Lament." J. None. (mentioned above.) Eli Jacobsen (pronounced El-ee, NOT E-lie!) Cesar De La Rosa, their newest member, and notorious camera flirt (and the camera flirts right back! Who wouldn't?) Layne Stein, their beatboxer. Sometimes he sings, and it's always a treat to hear his voice. I could tell you all more facts and opinions about each member, but I'll let you discover them on your own! Enjoy! I know we will, watching you!
You are meeting the top accapella group they are gods of talent I rec Valhalla calling ,a Viking cover Geoff castelluchi solo work deep bass cover Mon of constant sorrow and enjoy
Another good A Cappella artist to check out is Peter Hollens. He works with Home Free sometimes, sometimes just their Bass, Tim Foust, and had Voiceplay's Bass, Geoff, in one of Peter's Christmas Videos. I recommend starting out with Peter Hollen's "Epic Handwashing Parody." It shows how clever and original he is.
I'd love to hear your reaction of more VoicePlay (or Geoff's solos). A few different ones that are each a bit different: In the Air Tonight (Phil Collins), Tennessee Whiskey (Chris Stapleton), I Can't Make You Love Me (Bonnie Raitt), Little Mermaid (Disney), Drunken Sailor (old sea shanty (with a nod to Alan Rickman)), Dream On (Aerosmith), Dragonborn Comes Skyrim, Hoist the Colours (Pirates of the Caribbean), Wicked (Broadway).
Of the big 3 a cappella groups working on RUclips (Pentatonix, Home Free, VoicePlay), VoicePlay is the LEAST known. Which is kind of odd, since they're just as vocally talented as the other two groups, and are known for their creativity and theatricality - and they are the oldest of the 3 groups, having started in 1996 as 4:2:Five, where Home Free started in 2002 and Pentatonix (which is the most successful, both critically and commercially) started in 2011. There are still 2 of the founding members in VoicePlay - Geoff Castellucci (the bass singer) and Layne Stein (vocal percussion/beatboxer/violinist). Since VoicePlay is based in Orlando, FL, most of the members have worked in the theme parks in the area. All 3 groups have another connection - they competed on the a cappella competition TV show The Sing-Off in the early 2010s, and 2 were winners - Pentatonix in season 3 and Home Free in season 4. VoicePlay also competed in season 4, but didn't make it to the finals. As far as recommendations: This is my first time on your channel, so I'm not familiar with your musical tastes, so these are just some of my favorites: for a Disney flavor, try We Don't Talk About Bruno (Encanto), Moana medley (Moana), Little Mermaid medley (The Little Mermaid), Grim Grinning Ghosts. For a video game flavor, try Halo Theme, The Dragonborn Comes (Skyrim), Warriors (League of Legends), Enemy feat. AleXa (League of Legends/Arcane), My Mother Told Me (Assassin's Creed: Valhalla), Valhalla Calling (Assassin's Creed: Valhalla). For general greatness, try Phantom of the Opera, I Can't Make You Love Me, Wicked medley. When it comes time for Halloween, VoicePlay owns that occasion, creating a special video each year. They've done 4 videos from The Nightmare Before Christmas, and any number of other Halloween videos - this year's was Hellfire, from the Disney animated film The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Or just do what you did today and pick out something that you'd like to hear! I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Welcome to the wonderful world of VoicePlay. I have subscribed to be able to see you react to more VoicePlay and Geoff Castellucci videos. My favorite VoicePlay song is Valhalla Calling, but you can't go wrong with anything they have out. Check out: Seven Nation Army; Carry on Wayward Son; In The Air Tonight; Dream On; Hoist The Colors; Drunken Sailor; Creep; The Lion Sleeps Tonight; Hellfire; Whiskey in the Jar. I could go on and on. Geoff Castellucci (the bass) has his own channel, you need to check him out his versions of: 16 Tons, Misty Mountain Cold; I see Fire; Jack's Lament; Ain't No Sunshine; Sounds of Silence to name a few. Enjoy the rabbit hole.
I'm guessing that if you really liked this one, you will also like: Queen in 5 minutes; Creep: and the theme to Halo. Those would be a great way to start. They also have a playful side and do amazing cover of Disney songs. Welcome to falling down the rabbit hole with us.
They hit you right in the feels, didn’t they? 😊 You many be pleased - or daunted - to know they have dozens of vids out. And they do a new full length every month. They’ve done Radiohead’s Creep White Stripes’ Seven Nation Army Phil Collins’ In The Air Tonight and Areosmith’s Dream On Fair warning. Their cover of Creep is highly likely to hit you in the feels too. I detest the original but I can’t get enough of VP’s. Welcome to the rabbit hole. 😊
To your question about his voice... I have only two words. "Valhalla Calling". You have no idea of what his voice can do here because the song had no need of his taking it to the depths of hell... Valhalla Calling he went full out, so much so that he nearly lost his voice for a few days after. Then, since you are well comfortable with rock songs, check Geoff (the bass) and his cover of "Sounds of Silence". And welcome to the dragon hole. Reactors very rarely escape our clutches.
Cheers. 🥰🥰
Thank you for your kind words and suggestions! I really appreciate you!
Thank you for being here for it and cannot wait to listen to and react to more.
Welcome to the world of Voice Play. Be brave and go down the rabbit hole. You'll never regret it. They are phenomenal!❤
Thank you and I have a list now from you wonderful people!
VoicePlay is the best a cappella group, in my opinion. RHEC.
Thank you for being here! RHEC you are the man!
Right, they’re my dopamine fix.
Idk PTX still so great
home free losing Austin may have killed them .
Heck yes! I agree!! I love them.
Welcome to the VoicePlay rabbit hole.
Thank you for being here for it!
Welcome to the #Voiceplay family!! You'll get a lot support from all of us. You'll love Voiceplay's versions of Valhalla Calling, Creep, Hoist The Colours, Hellfire, Warriors, Dream On, Lion Sleeps Tonight. Enjoy!!
I really appreciate you.
Oh so much more to discover! Enjoy the ride. I’m here to enjoy it with you!.
Thank you so much and I have a few suggestions I am ready to react to!
Their voices do that to me too!
I hope to see a lot more of them on your channel😊
The guys are Independent and do most of the work themselves. They will get outside cameramen and makeup if it's elaborate costuming they need. The arrangements and lighting and first mix are all them. They will send the music off to a guy named Ed Boyer who does a lot of the Acapella final mix for several more well known groups. Enjoy the Rabbit Hole!
Oh I have more suggestions and reactions coming! Thank you for being here for it!
Thank you so much for your kind words, I have more to come.
This was a lovely reaction to an absolutely wonderful group. Geoff, the bass, did the genius arrangement for this one. I cried when I first heard this too! You are so going to enjoy their other content.
Thank you!
Thank you!
I went nuts when they first released this, lol. It remains a favorite for me.
I hope you continue down this amazing rabbit hole. Just pick a song you like and enjoy the ride. Another favorite for me is their cover of Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight."
Oh I will listen to and react to more! This is one of my favorite songs and cannot wait for more! Thank you for being here for it! appreciate you.
(By the way, Voiceplay covers that last one, also)
Thank you for this! so many suggestions and cannot wait to react to them!
Welcome to Voiceplay 🙂.
The group began in 1997 under the name "4:2:Five", and changed their name to "Voiceplay" in 2012. They underwent a number of changes in their lineup, especially in the last few years. This video shows their latest lineup. From left to right:
- Geoff ("Jeff") Castellucci, bass (duh!), used to arrange about half of their stuff (including this one).
They cover pretty much all genres I can think of, from Disney (all of them have a background of working for either Disney or Universal theme parks, or both...) to roc to Broadway to video games soundtracks (their versions of Halo Theme and The Dragonborn comes - Skyrim are just phenomenal), to pop to melodic pop to whatever. Even classical music (they have an hilarious, yet virtuosic, cover of "In the hall of the Mountain King" that is a must watch). And they kinda OWN Halloween... 😁
I think you could like to explore their deep rabbit hole...
Just subscribed in anticipation of more VP, HF and possibly Geoff.
See you next time!
WOW! thank you so much for the info and your kind words! And I cannot wait to react to more by them. I was so impressed with their talent!
I'm glad you typed all that information up. Such a complete understanding of each member, for sure! They are my favorite group of all time!
@@janetdw Thank you, Janet! 🙂
@@ljk5464 Amazing! This is what I love about passionate fans!
Differently awesome 🤘 🎶🔊🎶
Agree!
Welcome to the Voice Play journey. Their cover of "Hellfire" from Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame, is also a great listen. No theatrics, just amazing voices. Also, you really should check out their cover of "Valhalla Calling". I believe you will really enjoy those.
Thank you for the suggestions and cannot wait to react to more.
The amazing thing about vp that makes them the best acapella is not only do they do everything themselves but they just do everything. They don't specialize in a style of music so they have something for every one and every mood.
More reactions coming soon.
Thank you so much.
Loved your reaction!
Thank you!
I am amazed by them!
Thank you so much for your kind words and I cannot wait to react to more!
I know how you feel! Check out Carry on My Wayward Son!
Thank you for this.
Enjoyed your reaction! You've only just begun. Good Luck and have much fun!
Thank you so much!
Thank you and I will react to this one! Really appreciate you!
It is so nice to see your very emotional reaction.Music and this wonderfull a capella group let you feel the musik very deep❤
Thank you so much! cannot wait for more!
Well you made me cry :) Voiceplay brings me such joy. Thank you for your reaction
I never wanna make a woman cry! but I hope they were tears of Joy! Thank you for being here and more to come!
Great reaction. It is always fun seeing someone react to VoicePlay for the first time. As far as what other songs to react to, you really can't go wrong with any of their stuff so just pick something that looks interesting to you.
Yes this was more first time hearing them and wont be my last!
Thank you very much for a great, emotional reaction!!! Ejoyed it all the way.
Thank you so much for being here for it!
That is so Awesome! Love Chicago! I cannot wait to react to more.
I was amazed by them and will react to more. Appreciate you being here.
Please listen to their covers of „Seven Nation Army“ or „Creep“!
I will try to get to them soon.
I cannot wait to listen to and react to more! They are amazing.
Looking forward to more!!!!🌹🕊
I can wait to react to some of these! Thank you for the suggestions!
Thank you so much for your kindness and for your passion for your favorite band! I really appreciate this!
Welcome huge rabbit hole for you !!!😊😊😊
Thank you for being here for it!
Thank you for being here for it and cannot wait for more.
VoicePlay are in a league of their own being often very theatrical, often lots of fun, but they can cover any genre from Disney to rock and anything in between. So you're bound to find something your wife will like. They blow you away, don't they?
I was so amazed by their voices to one of my favorite songs! I cannot wait to hear and react to more!
Thank you for being here for it!
Thank you so much for this information about this incredible talent! Thank you for being here for it!
Thank you! Appreciate you!
Great reaction 😊 Welcome to the rabbit hole 😅 Voiceplay is independent and does all of their own arrangements and production. They do every genre from rock to Disney and never disappoint. Dream On is one of my favorites as well as Hoist The Colours. Have fun!
Thank you and cannot wait to react to more!
Thank you so much for being here for it and more to come.
Great reaction and welcome to the rabbit hole known as VoicePlay 😊
For your next choice of song, I would highly recommend "Creep" which was originally by "RadioHead". You think this song was tearfully and moving...just wait til you hear Creep. ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words and suggestion! Appreciate you!
Good Music 👍🔥
Enjoy your weekend with your family.💖
Thank you Precious! Always good to see you!
I really loved this and cannot wait to hear more.
You just made my morning! Thank you!
You do not talk too much. Great reaction. Go down the voiceplay rabbit hole. All their stuff is amazing. They are my favorite acapella group
Thank you and cannot wait to hear more and react to it!
Excellent reaction! Got me in the feels, too.
Thank you so much and cannot wait to react to more! Appreciate your support for this amazing group and to our channel!
If you liked this one you should check out their seven nation army
I will check it out! Thank you so much for the suggestion.
Any Voiceplay song is well worth listening to. They have yet to do anything mediocre. Thank you for playing it out to the end - many new reactors don't and there's often hidden gems at the end. Keep the tissues handy - many of their songs hit hard. Can't wait to see more reactions from you.
I learned my lesson not playing a video to the end! Thank you for being here and more to come!
Thanks for such a genuine reaction❤ music is really amazing..and voice play is incredible
I really enjoyed your reaction to my favorite group so I liked and subscribed! They are truly incredible so I’m sure you will love whatever you choose next. But you might really enjoy their version of Dream On! ❤
Thank you so much for the support of this amazing group.
Fabulous reaction ❤ welcome to voiceplay
Thank you so much!
Great reaction- thanks! I am a new subscriber to your channel looking forward to more reactions to Voice Play! I would recommend that you check out their playlist and start with songs you know and like for more Voice Play reactions- you will never be disappointed!
Thank you so much and more to come! I really appreciate you!
The deep voice he is called Geoff Castellucci he also does solo work too
Love it!
Your manner is so soothing. I know your page will grow and grow
I really appreciate that! Love your RUclips name!
I really enjoyed this and cannot wait to react to more!
Thank you so much! I have had some things happen and I have not done too many reactions lately, But I promise to get to more.
Welcome to the voiceplay rabbit hole, Geoff Castellucci also has a channel. Enjoy the ride sir!!
Thank you so much!
The rules:
#1) VERY important!
Oh, and FYI, from left to right facing the screen we have:
Geoff Castellucci (cast-teh-loo-chee) A Bass like no other. He has a solo channel too, full of "Deep Bass Covers" and other neat stuff. For a good Geoff starter, I recommend "I See Fire" or "Jack's Lament."
J. None. (mentioned above.)
Eli Jacobsen (pronounced El-ee, NOT E-lie!)
Cesar De La Rosa, their newest member, and notorious camera flirt (and the camera flirts right back! Who wouldn't?)
Layne Stein, their beatboxer. Sometimes he sings, and it's always a treat to hear his voice.
I could tell you all more facts and opinions about each member, but I'll let you discover them on your own! Enjoy! I know we will, watching you!
Thank you and much appreciated. I cannot wait to react to more! I have also reacted to Home Free also! Thank you for being here.
@@BuckeyeCreeker1 My pleasure!
Really, really enjoyed this, and subscribed! Hope to see more Voiceplay!
Thank you, I have a list now that I want to get to by them and can't wait. Appreciate you being here.
You are meeting the top accapella group they are gods of talent I rec Valhalla calling ,a Viking cover Geoff castelluchi solo work deep bass cover Mon of constant sorrow and enjoy
Thank you so much for being here for it!
Thank you so much for the suggestion! appreciate you!
Voice play does all the prep work too like arangment lights sounds costume look on your computer below the vid it shows who does what enjoy
Thank you so much for this!
Thank you so much for this information!
Great reaction man! You need to keep doing these, and keep saying what you feel if the music moves you. Thanks from GB.
You should checkout their cover of Dream On

❤❤❤😊😊😊 More Voiceplay please! You will gain a lot of loyal subscribers if you do. You will not be disappointed . 😊
You have found them now! Good aint they?
I'm guessing that if you really liked this one, you will also like: Queen in 5 minutes; Creep: and the theme to Halo. Those would be a great way to start. They also have a playful side and do amazing cover of Disney songs. Welcome to falling down the rabbit hole with us.
They hit you right in the feels, didn’t they? 😊
You many be pleased - or daunted - to know they have dozens of vids out. And they do a new full length every month.
They’ve done
Radiohead’s Creep
White Stripes’ Seven Nation Army
Phil Collins’ In The Air Tonight
and
Areosmith’s Dream On
Fair warning. Their cover of Creep is highly likely to hit you in the feels too. I detest the original but I can’t get enough of VP’s.
Welcome to the rabbit hole. 😊
Thank you so much for this.
