Been listening to knocked loose for a few years now and they have just gotten better and better with each album! Bryan Garris is an absolute legend! Cant wait to see what they have next
Hi Icelander here! Instead of M-yu-r it's closer to Moor (the R is short and rrrrolled) Múr can be translated to "Mortar" or "Brick wall" Holskefla could be interpreted as a few things if i am correct here, it's quite a "fancy" and uncommonly used in casual day Icelandic but i think the meaning in the title would be "Breaker wave" The synth solo in the end is actually performed by the singer Kári who rocks a sick all black and red keytar, working the synth during live shows. For your next reaction of them (if you will do one, which i hope you do) you should do their Heimsslit/Kviksyndi Live performance. It will blow your mind ruclips.net/video/ENGOwY-05OY/видео.htmlsi=RL9Blqj5Vop-d94J
Thank you so much for clarifying this for me. I hope to pronounce it better on my next reaction of theirs. Also thank you for the suggestion. I really do want to see what they are like live. Thanks again 🤘
Just in case you don't know, tomorrow another Chris' song will be out "She Called Me Diaval" and this one is also coming with MV!
Awesome!! Thank you for sharing. I will definitely check it out. 🤘
This is not what I expected. A little trippy but still cool. Would listen to more. Great little fact on the Icelandic language, due to Iceland's remote location, leading to geographical isolation for much of its history, the language has hardly changed the last 1000 years or so, so if you learn modern Icelandic you will probably be able to read things written in the Middle Ages in the original text. A second fun fact adjacent to the first one is that we have a bunch of old Nordic literature available to us today thanks to people in Iceland who wrote it down at some point in the Middle Ages (Poetic Edda being one of them). And I think that's metal as hell. Source: two semesters of Scandinavian studies back when I was like 19, and no I sadly don't know any Icelandic.
That is awesome!!! I had no idea. Way to go Iceland!!! Thank you for sharing those fun facts. As far as the band goes, the video was crazy, but I did really like the music. I will definitely check out more from them. 🤘
I agree on the video, but I've heard things about Icelandic film and this fits right in 😂
Now I am curious to check out some Icelandic films.
There's a film called Metalhead that I've been meaning to see, but I haven't found it anywhere yet. I think it's from around 2013.
Thank you, I will look for it on my side of the pond. If I find it I will let you know
You have actually reacted to another band from Iceland, Skálmöld. I didn’t like this song but it sounds similar to something I would normally like so I’m going to give the album a listen an see how I feel about that.
Awesome, great call out. I have been meaning to check out more from Skalmold. In this case the video was strange, but I did like the music. I would definitely check out more. Thank you my friend 🤘
the guy with the dreadlocks (christos antoniou) has a master degree in concert music and is responsible for all the orchestral parts of the band. he is a genius!
Thank you for the information. That is fantastic! Thank you for sharing my friend 🤘
+
Thank you for watching 🤘
Simone's first name is pronounced like Simona. And her last name is pronounced similarly, without the "ah" sound at the end. So altogether it goes like this: Si-MOAN-ah Si-MOANS. Sounds kinda musical, doesn't it? But it's just her real name. This woman, even her name is perfect. You're correct that in Dutch a W would normally be pronounced like a V. But I've only ever heard Wessels pronounced the English way, so I'm not sure. And Alyssa pronounces her name like Elisa for some reason. Oh well.
Thank you for the information and for watching 🤘
Great reaction video 😁 the song is incredible 🤘 Im on the same boat with you aswell, Alissa is my favourite singer for Arch Enemy. cant wait when the album comes out and to go see them again in November! 💙🤘🤘
Thank you my friend! I am glad you liked my video
heck yeah thats good :)
Awesome, Thank you for watching 🤘
I agree that they are a great gateway band for people who already like the traditional stuff and are looking for something heavier. That's how I got into more extreme styles hehe, and a big part of that is their melodic side, but also Angela's super confident performance (that was maybe 2006 😅) . I get the meet and greet experience, maybe it will be easier the second time around? I know I somewhat forgot my English with Apocalyptica, but talking to Lisa and Anders from Draconian was very chill, so maybe there is a learning curve 😂
Yeah, I definitely need to try and play it cool the second time around. This time I have a talking point. I printed a poster for the tour I went to in London and have a meet and greet with In flames a few weeks prior. I am having In flames and Arch Enemy sign the poster. So it will be a little bit of a talking point. I am thinking that will keep me from tripping over my words 🤞
Sounds like a plan!
🤘
Both are extremely strong lead singers who dominate the stage. Alissa has the advantage that she also uses her clean voice and therefore has more options. That gives Alissa a point win. Arch Enemy makes melodic death metal and that's it.
I agree 100%. I just love everything about the band
Thank you very much!
It’s an honor for me that you checked out my video. I can’t wait to hear the new album. I would love to sit down for an interview sometime 🤘
Its solo because he Chris love to experiment. He never did solo. He always talk about it. And as in the song "i was too afraid" He need to courage to change. Watch his shows before 2019 or 2020. He open up really slow.
Thank you for sharing. I love that he now has the courage to do this. I saw them in September and they were Amazing! Chris is such a great frontman. 🤘
Chris was born in 1980.
I am glad I didn’t mess that part up ( I have been known to be quite wrong sometimes)
When I go to a concert I will take some pictures and record some footage, and of course have to remember to embrace it. like not have my phone up the whole time lol. Im planing on going to see Godsmack in April. and Arch Enemy in November, same place where they place at Eventim Apollo London 😁
I think I am going to do what you do, it sounds like the best of both worlds. Arch Enemy at Hammersmith will always be special to me. It was such an amazing trip. I am seeing them again in May over here. Have fun at your shows. BTW I saw Godsmack open for Metallica in the early 2000’s and Godsmack was Amazing. In my opinion they were better than Metallica that night (St. Anger tour). 🤘
@MattsMoshPit1 Thanks buddy 😁 hope you have fun at your shows too. Yes! That night when Arch Enemy played at Hammersmith that was a special experience for me 🤘 and I was like "I hope they come back!" 😆 all the bands were good that night. I look forward to seeing your video on the Arch Enemy show in May. That's cool! In regards to Godsmack, I look forward to seeing them even more. 😀🤘
🤘
As far as I know the album is going to be all electronic music. I didn't know if I would be interested in this, because electronic music is very much a hit and miss for me, mostly miss. But this is exactly the kind I like, this retro synthwave with a goth tinge, so so cool!
That makes sense as to why it’s not a Lord of the Lost album. I hope it’s all like this song. I am ok with most electronic music, but sometimes it just doesn’t work for me. 🤘
The second single is out, not sure if there will be a video for it, but I listened to it today and I liked it. Maybe not as much as this one, but it's still very cool. I think he's going for a similar vibe in the whole thing. Damn now I have to buy the album.
lol… all of these great albums to have to buy. I totally know the feeling. My music collection is insane and keeps growing. I created my own music server years ago, so my collection doesn’t take up as much space as it used to. Anyway, I want to check out the new single, but I will wait just in case there is a video.
I may have to pick your brain on that soon, I decided to cancel my Spotify subscription and digitize my CD collection, since Rokk doesn't have all the music I want yet. But it's a lot 😂
Honestly, it’s the best decision I have ever made. I use it all the time. I have avoided streaming because they don’t have a lot of the albums I have ( live or unreleased music or obscure). You just need a home server. I have a synology Nas that holds 12 TBs of content. Then you just use an app called Plex to build your library and access it. I use it everywhere (car, internationally, etc). You can either populate your own metadata or use the Plex system that does it. It’s pretty accurate and easy to work with.
This song on it’s own could probably work for Lord of the Lost, but maybe not a full album with this sound. Sounds a lot like some of the music I loved back in the 80:s and still listen to now but nostalgia is probably the primary reason why I still like those songs so I’m not very interested in new music that sounds like this.
I am totally with you on that. I grew up with this kind of music and hair bands. There are newer bands that do the same thing and it just doesn’t interest me. It could be that I have been loving all things Lord of the Lost that it still works for me. Only time will tell. 🤘
Welcome back, Matt, and HAPPY NEW YEAR! So, LOTL on rotation and singing - sounds like me! 😊 I am back from Lordfest weekend with my teenage son. We had such a great time and so did a lot of Losties! My best birthday ever! I love the song. I grew up with Depeche Mode and synths. 1984 I bought People Are People as a child and I was sold forever. They have been such an important influence and part of my life, not only of my youth. Saw them dozens of times and still travel to their concerts when they come up with a tour. Today I am a weird mixture of being a lifetime Devotee (DM), a die hard Nightwish fan and a Lostie. All three bands for a very good reason. When Chris announced his solo project with synths driven songs I knew it from the start I would enjoy it a lot. And no, I do not think this could be a LOTL song. Somehow yes, technically, because a good song is a good song as long you can play it in any genre and it still is a good song. Yes, they could play it all together. But for me it is clearly Chris who follows his dream do do an electronic album like this. The lyrics here are deep and the song touches me. I prefer less "happy" synth songs or melodies. Darker ones. So, I Love You had to grow on me, first. But now, I have tears in my eyes, when I listen (and sing) to the song. Love it and the video and the artwork, too. Let us just enjoy art and the creativity of all these passionate artists who achieved to win a place in our hearts the one way or another... ❤
I am so glad you had a great time for your birthday. I saw the video they did on the prep for Lordfest, it was Awesome. They are just so much fun. I grew up on synth music as well. I have even seen Depeche Mode live. Now that I know it’s all electronic it makes sense that it’s not a band album. I can’t wait to hear it either way 🤘
Oh, yes! Always fun with the guys... I believe you had a great time, too. Over the pond. And a happy birthday celebration while visiting Europe? Much love from the hometown of Powerwolf (a one hour ride to Strasbourg)!
Thank you. I had an Amazing time. It must be awesome being so close to Strasbourg. It was beautiful 🤘
Chris is not only the singer of Lord of the Lost, but also their main songwriter and producer. He said many years ago that he also works as a producer in the pop field. In the 2000s, he was also responsible for some ringtones that tormented us back then. Here he was involved in the album in 2022 as a producer/songwriter: Nino de Angelo - Zeit heilt keine Wunden (Offizielles Video) ...and can also be heard on a song (in German): Nino De Angelo- Der Panther Chris was born in 1980. So he discovered music in the middle of the 80s. His role model is Roxette from the 1990s. I don't sing in the shower. I don't want the water to freeze to ice in shock, that would be impractical ;-)
lol…. Everyone sings in the shower or at least they should. I can’t remember a shower that didn’t have music playing. You should give it a try. Not gonna lie, everyone sounds great when they sing in the shower. I had no idea Chris produced ring tones, that is awesome. I am definitely excited to hear this album when it comes out. 🤘
The water becoming ice might heart you but you would be kind cool as Elza Just let it go. Let it go.
@@xydoit2024 Damn, I spilled my secret... ;-)
Gott nytt år!🥳 I don’t mind people recording at concerts. My phone mostly stays in my pocket but I usually try to record a minute or two of every band when I’m at a concert or festival and post shorts on my YT channel to keep track of which band I have seen and when and where. But I have fallen behind on editing and uploading lately so now I have at least 20-30 videos (the oldest are from Sweden Rock Festival in June) that I need to edit 😞. I think there have been a lot of people complaining about what other people are doing at concerts lately. Some people don’t like it when other people are recording or taking pictures, some people don’t like it when other people mosh or sing along, some people doesn’t like it when other people aren’t very involved and just want to hang out in the back and listen. I think we need to have a bit more empathy and realise that not everybody enjoys the same things at a concert and I think that goes for the bands as well. If a band don’t want people to record than I think they should communicate that when they announce the tour and at the beginning of the show. I’m not very interested in watching a full concerts so I usually only watch the beginning and the end of your vlogs, sorry 🙂. Maybe try recording one song per band (preferably the most popular song or a new song) and publish every song separately, make sure to mention the name of the band, the song, venue, city and year in the title. That way you have the chance to show up in as many relevant search results as possible, make sure to place a link to the concert review in the videos to get as much traffic to the review as possible.
Happy New Year! Thank you for the great advice! I will try it out. 🤘
In terms of concert vlogs, I'm always very interested in the venue facts, especially if it's an old venue. Also loved the small interviews with other fans in line at the Iron Maiden concert, that was super fun to see. And the new music concept is a good idea. I mean, if you discover an old band, their music will be new and exciting to you and probably the people who already like the band will enjoy seeing your take on their music (like I did with the Stratovarius videos, for example). But with new releases it's a more journalistic approach, I guess. Anyway it all sounds cool, can't wait to see it!
Thank you for your support and ideas. It’s always good to know what works and what doesn’t. 🤘

@@MattsMoshPit1 what about another eivor? ;)
Definitely, what would you recommend?
@@MattsMoshPit1 good question, there are so many good songs to pick from. maybe something stripped, live. slor from the london solo sessions, i love gloomy sunday feat, ginman after dark, too. she is wearing suit and tie in there. wake me up live at rtt, also a good pick. truth live at studio bloch as well as bridges live at studio bloch. boxes live 2012. just do them all, that's the easiest! 😁
Awesome, Thank you! I will add them to my list 🤘
Icelander here, the title Glósóli is kinda pronounced like glow-sole-i. Only way to phonetically explain it to an english speaker, the ó is like the exclemation oh!
Awesome! Thank you so much for the clarification. Thank you for watching, as well 🤘
Thank you for sharing! That was one of my favorite stops on the tour! Just out of curiosity, do you have any more raw footage that extends past the point where you stopped here? I was trying to track down a specific moment just after the set! Thank you!
Thank you for watching. Unfortunately, I don’t really keep the original footage after the video is created. Thank you again for watching 🤘
Happy New Year Matt. Sabaton came 1st, 1999. In 2012, Sabaton split , with only Joakim and Par remaining. Guitarists Oskar Montelius and Rikard Sunden, along with drummer Daniel Mullback and keyboardist Daniel Myhr , all left and formed Civil War. Nils Patrick Johansson is the singer, and Stefan Eriksson on bass. Yes, they do history , but more on American history , where Sabaton is more European history. Today , only the 2 Daniel's remain in the band from the start, their 2nd singer(who was only on the 4th album) just left, and Thobbe Englund is a member of both bands now. Heard a couple songs, but not too familiar with their catalog.
Thank you for the History on them 😉. I love Sabaton, so if given the choice I would take Sabaton over them, but I did like them. 🤘
This warmed my heart!!!
That is awesome, thank you for watching 🤘
@@MattsMoshPit1 Welcome!!! 🥰🥰🥰
As far as I know Civil War was started by former Sabaton members, so Sabaton def came first. Maybe it's not a great representative of their music, so I want to be cautious here, but this song sounds a little bit generic. The vocals do sound similar to Biff's, maybe somewhere in between Kai Hansen and Biff. All in all, not exactly unpleasant, but I have no desire to hear it again. Don't get me wrong, while I like Sabaton and own some of their albums, I do think they've been doing the same thing over and over again, with some exceptions, and have slipped into generic territory themselves, especially after Carolus Rex. I guess they still get away with it through the big choruses that make the listener want to sing along (myself included), which is something that is lacking in this song imho. But my feeling of indifference here are not a result of trying to be protective over "Sabaton's space", so to speak. Military history and history in general is a super metal subject, I don't see why only one band has to cover it in their songs. God Dethroned released a WWI-themed album in 2008 or 2009, called "Passiondale", it's, predictably, about the trench warfare in Belgium. But, they are Belgian and also a death metal band, so they sound very different. This is not exactly a recommendation, more like an example. Heavy new year to everyone!
I understand. I do love Sabaton. My favorite Passiondale is the Maiden Passiondale from the Dance of Death album 🤘
@@MattsMoshPit1 "Price of a mile" from Sabaton is also about Paschendaele. But I also prefer the Maiden song.
That is a great one as well. 🤘
There are more original Sabaton members in this video than in Sabaton 😂. Sabaton sort of splitt into two bands in 2012. Joakim and Per remained in Sabaton and the four other members left and started Civil War. Tobbe Englund joined Civil War 2021 and it looks like he is a member of both bands right now.
Thank you for the History 😉. I think I am biassed towards Sabaton, but I did like this.
Awesome Matt! I bet you will have a great time in Tuska! I really hope that Tuska will later add also some front row Finnish artists perfoming with their native Finnish language. I am pretty sure that many of them would hit to your taste. If you already want to check some of them in advance, please find few suggestions below: TURMION KÄTILÖT - Kyntövuohi (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) STAM1NA - Valtiaan uudet vaateet Mokoma - Kuollut, kuolleempi, kuollein
Awesome! Thank you my friend. I am about to record some more reactions. I will definitely check them out. Have a safe and Happy New Year!!!

Wow, Thank you for all of this information. I can’t wait to visit Finland this summer for the Tuska Festival 🤘

That is awesome!! Thank you so much for sharing
Great idea to do such a song and the line-up is insane. I'm not going, but I'm excited for you!
Thank you! I can’t wait
This was so overwhelming because I kept trying to keep track on who is in the video. So many of my favourite musicians. I swear, I don't just keep looking for Finnish bands, I find a band I like and then it turns out they're from Finland :D The awesome bass solo dude is Lauri Porra, I am crazy about his playing, he is a virtuoso. And both guitarists from Wintersun, almost all of Amorphis, Samy from Lost Society, of course Kai Hahto, Mika Karppinen, and and and.. This was super fun. Now I really want to go to Tuska.
You should absolutely go to Tuska if you can. We can hang out 🤘
@@MattsMoshPit1 That would be awesome 🤘
Hmmmm. This performance had lots of interesting elements/visuals etc but it was "empty" somehow.🤔🤔 Reminded me too much of AI metal. 🥰🥰🥰🇨🇦
Yeah, many are feeling the same way about this. I guess you can’t win them all. Thank you for sharing my friend 🤘
I don't know if I like it? The keyboards are cool though.
That seems to be the consensus. Ya cant win them all 😉
That's true. To be fair to them, I don't think they're bad, just not aligned with what I like. I will break the habit and recommend an American band now : if you haven't already, check out Oceans of Slumber
I haven’t heard of them. What song should I check out?
I am only just getting into their music, but I like everything I'm hearing! Try "Where gods fear to speak" from their latest album ruclips.net/video/GZ-uFhTng5g/видео.htmlsi=LLHcY-9vnrh99-wh
Awesome, I will check it out!
I was 2 years old when stratovarius started. Seen them many times live. Hi from snowy Finland. 🤘
That is Awesome!! I definitely need to check out more from them. Have fun in Finland. I can’t wait to go there in June for the Tuska Festival. Hopefully it won’t snow then 😉
@MattsMoshPit1 haha, it wont snow that time of the year. 😄 Have fun in Tuska. I am going to John Smith festival here in Finland next summer. It's also a really great festival. 🤘😊
I’ll have to look out for the John Smith Fest. Thank you for sharing 🤘
This wasn’t for me 😕. Maby I missed something because I didn’t like it and didn’t pay enough attention but I think it sounds really generic. Do you like Björk? If you do than I think you should try listening to Gaupa, their vocalist sounds a lot like Björk (the music doesn’t). Febersvan is a good place to start if you haven’t listened to them before: ruclips.net/video/_4DbgHA4cRs/видео.htmlsi=3wlkbWGZyjlXKhZg
Ya can’t win them all 😉. I do like Bjork. I have not heard Febersvan. I will check out your link. Thank you my friend 🤘
WTF.. I’ve ended up in a scene 😂
Awesome, thank you for sharing 🤘
How about something a wee bit more appropriate🤔 A really old band but still producing great Concerts. A great band from Poland. Behemoth "The Deathless Sun" ruclips.net/video/mwHng79Scv8/видео.htmlsi=A3pnHEq_zQO_kvmE
I love Behemoth! One of the first reactions I did on this channel was for Behemoth. I kinda goofed on it, but it did spark my interest and I went down the Behemoth rabbit hole shortly after. Thank you for the suggestion 🤘
I was very surprised to see this thumbnail on your channel and knew it would not be for you.😏 I discovered this band through Dimash when Jordan had about 4,000 subscribers which I thought was criminal. Sadly they are independant and refuse to sell out to the US Music Mafia. I consider this Symphonic Rock. "But One Ghost" has incredible lyrics and this might be my favorite song but it competes with Graves and Gardens, Us, and Andromeda where Nova (violynist) has a heavier role. None of their music is heavier than this. Jordan has amazing vocal prowess and Andrew does a good solid support guitar. Nova blends her violyn in beautifully. The band has a unique sound but all their music is very similar to this.🙄 They recently completed a tour from Texas to Indianna which did well. 🥰🥰Many Christmas Blessings from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦
You suggested it, so I had to check it out 🤘. While it’s not for me, I am happy to shine some light on to them. Thank you for sharing. Also Merry Christmas to you as well!
They had a crazy moshpit going on when I saw them at a festival once, It was about 10 years ago I'd say. They played before a band I wanted to see (I think it was Epica) and as I wanted to be close to the barrier, I had to go through all the pushing, crowdsurfing etc. and I was still a scared kid back then :D (not a kid anymore, but still scared of big moshpits) It's party music for me, beer in one hand, vodka in the other (I remember their song Vodka was pretty popular in the past) but not something I'd listen to every day.
From the comments, it seems like they are much better live than album. I definitely want to check them out the Tuska fest in June. Thank you for sharing 🤘
With holiday season, I finally have some time to catch up on all your videos. I've never been this busy in my life, so I'm really behind. I've heard the band name so many times but never had a chance to check them out. Sounds like heavier Babymetal. I like some parts of the song, some not that much. I'm a little confused about what to make out of it as a whole. But would be cool to see this live, great energy.
I am glad you have some free time. I am honored that you are spending your free time watching my videos. I would definitely check out more from them, the other reaction I did for them was for a better song. Merry Christmas 🤘
This is way too mainstream musically and vocally for me, but they might be interesting for fans of 30 Seconds to Mars etc. Not bad at all, just not my thing.
Yeah, it was a little light for me, but I had to check it out.
Merry Christmas Matt. 🎄 City of Sound is a totally independent band out of LA. Freeze the Fall has a distribution deal, but are otherwise independent, that may be why you got this recommendation on that video. I found them because Jay, the lead singer, started his own yt reaction channel (Wrighteousj). Only heard a couple songs myself. Like you, I usually lean towards heavier stuff, but they do make good songs in their genre. Cold Play , as you mentioned, is a comparable according to their website, also Muse and 30 Seconds to Mars.
Thank you for sharing. I can appreciate the song, but it’s not quite what I gravitate towards . Merry Christmas my friend 🤘
Must check Dana Dan but make sure the CC is on. It’s an experience.
I will definitely check it out. Thank you for sharing my friend 🤘
❤ Das Lied ist wundervoll ❤
I agree! Thank you for watching and have a Safe and Happy Holiday 🤘
Thanks Matt for 2024 and the great channel! Happy Holidays and New Year 2025!
Thank you my friend. I hope you have a safe and Happy Holiday. Hope to see you at Tuska in 2025 🤘
Thanks Matt! Will do my to be in Tuska 2025.
VOLA has been around since 2008. 2 EP's and 4 full lengths. If you like VOLA its probably their harder songs i could imagine. You can check out Head Mounted Sideways, smartfriend and a stare without eyes. However if you can not enjoy their more quiet mellow songs I dont think you will ever become a huge fan.
Thank you for the information. I do tend to gravitate towards the heavier stuff, but I do also listen to softer stuff as well. It’s just a matter of knowing what I am getting into. I will definitely check out more from them. Thank you for sharing 🤘
Once again, I've noticed that it's more about songs than albums for me. The list of the best songs would be about 100 titles long 😆But two albums that really stood out for me this year are Make Them Suffer-Make Them Suffer and Future Palace-Distortion.
I was afraid to do a song list. I would be recording for days. I am just thankful we are surrounded by so much great music🤘
