Absolutely. I really dont know what they were thinking when getting rid of ROE. That soundtrack has suck emotions and meaning. So to hear "we go on" at Epcot, again totally gave me chills.

I think they learned their lesson when they totally ignored nostalgia at the Magic Kingdon 50th. As a 40 year EPCOT enthusiast, this brought tears to my eyes.

The applause when “we go on” starts should be an indicator to bring back the illuminations music to the nighttime show!

The Dreamcatcher going around did it for me.... I hope Bob and the rest understand what the past 40 years have meant to us Millennials. We were brought here as kids and absorbed the magic and want to show it to our children now. Bring back the classics that made EPCOT what it was. Edutainment is the answer, not IP....
And the Boomers & G-X'ers.

Disney really outdid themselves. They learned their mistakes while doing the 50th Anniversary of the Magic Kingdom. It's not about the money or the additions, but the memories and the nostalgia that people made over the years.
"We Go On" at the end just brought tears to me and my wife's eyes. I have never seen another Disney show that can bring out so much emotion as Illuminations did for us. Harmonious was a poor substitute with no emotion. I'm hoping 'Beacons of Light' is still there for when we can get back to EPCOT!

Harmonious is awesome, I hate that Disney is going backwards and bringing old shows, yeah they were good but is time to move forward and have new thing and not keep living in the past.
Outstanding content! Needs to play nightly!! Original EPCOT music even speaks to people who don't understand the context. NOTHING in this was derivative or based on IP. Just Outstanding

I know that the corporation icon for Disney is a mouse. But in my book, SPACESHIP EARTH will always be what I remember about Disney. Although I have not been there in 20 years, videos like this reminds me of that symbol, and how it has evolved. In the late 1980's, those lasers showcased what this company could do. With the additional of the LEDS on this, it looks even better. Thanx for letting us see it

2:40 is it just me holding on to the past or did the show designer intentionally pay tribute to the Jeremy irons version of spaceship earth where you past by the city at night with the lights that pass above you??? Regardless, I will at least pretend it is 😂

The show unfortunately did not interact with Magic Band+ 😕
@@AlbyMarz Oh really? I thought the band was supposed to change colors to coordinate with the light pattern on Spaceship Earth. I'm guessing that it didn't do that?
@@PrinceMarc22 it will interact with the regular Beacon of Magic shows and Harmonious 😉 .... Also just a heads up, the 40th anniversary show was limited to the anniversary weekend 😕
@@AlbyMarz It could be that your magic band is defective. I had to exchange my first Magic band because it didn't link to the Bluetooth properly so that could be the case with yours.

as an EPCOT purist if Disney did this every night ill go to the park.
The parade for the millenia celebration along with the fireworks was the best.

It's perfect. But isn't it sad that a quick light show on SSE ellicits more positive feedback and emotions than a massive budget water show?
Love the concept, but play more songs and more of each song... 4 minutes for 40 years?
This is not the fireworks show. This is simply the spaceship earth light show. The light shows is usually 4-5 minutes long, and then the show happens again.

Have the cd version, but for their 40th anniversary, sorry, I’m not impressed ☹️
Terrible and sophomoric, like a giant, crappy lite brite with a front color wash. Should’ve added a video layer and lasers protruding from the ball. Also looks like you have some no color nodes out already, how easily fallible.
to be fair i was never impressed by the giant golf ball, but these guys are loving it, so good for them
