Love the speed of the bike at 1:18, it is so nice on a bicycle too to be able to keep up with traffic most of the time, I think it makes the ride that bit safer because less cars try to overtake you
Those direct drive motors are Fantastic! Mine does 44mph too fast!but if it's restricted 22ish plenty for what I need it for, and it handled hills like there nothing, you've got a good set up there!Good blog Dude!
Thanks mate, I've just built a new one, same kit again but lighter frame, just getting over a broken collar bone so I'll be making new vids again soon.
@Untold hi mate, with the voilamart kit I bought, you can run it at 1000w or join 2 wires together to limit the motor to 250w to make it street legal. As long as you pretend to pedal every now and then you can leave it on 1000w and use the throttle. I've been riding my 2 ebikes for 3 years and never been stopped by police because I pretend to pedal when I see them. If you buy a pre-built ebike it will be limited to 250w permanently.
@Untold if you're using it for delivery jobs I would use a 1000w motor kit with a decent size battery (mine is a 52v 20ah battery it's £320) and then limit the motor to 250w while working, that should last for 20-30 miles.
@Untold no worries mate, yeah if you're insuring it you'd be better buying a pre built ebike, I don't think they would insure a self build. Good luck mate, hope you get a good one.
