Bit of Everything That is true, but imagine being married to someone able to love someone “unworthy”? I have a guy in my family that has a HORRIBLE mom (lies, take things, does drugs, had many broken toxic relationships...) and he still cares for her and loves her. He is only 19 but I can see him as an amazing husband and father one day.
I wish Pete's dad would be there to see his family.. Pete is doing the best he can to make his mom happy..

As others have said, Scott Davidson (Pete's dad) has been dead since 9/11/2001 (made more depressing by the fact that Pete was seven when it happened and Scott's body was found before Pete turned eight in November 2001). Scott was one of the firefighters who tried to rescue people from the World Trade Center when it got hit, and died doing it. Most of Pete's stand-up is about how he coped with that loss. I'm more amazed that Amy (Pete's mom) hasn't fallen apart over losing Scott. I mean, yeah, there may have been some moments of despair, but she pretty much carried on, though she stayed single after he died, but I'm guessing it's because she didn't want to upset her kids.

I don't see how anyone could mistake the two, but whatever. It was a happy accident that led to Pete doing comedy), that seems like a fair trade.

Jezdamayel Caster I’m reminded of a young paralegal who used to ride the bus with me. She was loudly trashing men who still lived with their parents. At the time, my stepfather had run off two years ago due to the sadness surrounding my grandmother’s death ( the family matriarch), my mother gave up a high-paying career to save my sister, and they needed help keeping the home and bills paid. Plus, New Jersey was expensive as IDKW, so I had no choice. When I hear ANYONE trash people who live with their parents, I’m almost tempted to throw a punch. Ironically, though, self-preservation in this manner appears to be becoming the norm.
I think the stigma is going away slowly because we're all so poor. But seriously, the idea that people should move out at 18 was ridiculous from the first place. I'm glad I'm from a culture that doesn't expect that sort of stuff- and honestly, I stop caring about people's opinions much when I learn that they judge people for that. There are a whole lot of reasons for people to live with their parents for a while as adults.

I grew up in a farming area. You might have 4 generations living on the farm. It was great. Families like each other.
