Muhammad Ali was a Machine! The Strong Powerful Dancing Legs, The Educated Punches & Head Movments For Also When He's Not Dancing, He Can Move Around Bobbing His Head. Chuvalo Is A Tough Cookie! He would NOT break the entire fight. A lot of Low-Blows But His Hip & Kidney Punches are fucking insane! Idk how Ali took those. That was the Chrampion Spirit. I Love How Ali Also Pieced His Rounds On Which Rounds He Would Open Up. Most Scores Were about 10 numbers apart. These were Also the Days Ali Took His Boxing VERY Seriously.
Great video. This one really hammers home a point I've been making for years about Ali. The guy was TOUGH. Everyone knows him as a master of movement, but I rarely see people talk about his concrete chin. Chuvalo was NO JOKE. He was from that Marciano school of just powering through pain. Even still, Ali weathered the storm like a solider.
From 18:57 unreal what Ali did. Clinching Chuvalo, who's battering his side with hard right hands, and Ali just holds hims and talks to him. What was he made off?
The amount of shit fighters were allowed to get away with back then was insane. If you ever get a chance, check out the old Jack Dempsey footage. He practically beat on downed opponents. I can't think of a single 'old' fight I've watched where the ref stopped the action because of a headclash, for example. It was just considered part of the rough and tumble of the sport, I guess. Boxing was RAW back then.
By the way, if you're ever curious about how legendary Chuvalo is in Canada, David Cronenberg cast him as an arm-wrestling brawler in The Fly. 20 years after this fight. Fair warning that this scene is absolutely brutal, but that's him in the mustache. ruclips.net/video/4mgm6K91Qts/видео.html
You've got to notice....in the late rounds Ali is scoring 3 punches to 1 yet the announcer stays silent. All he does is periodically mention how many seconds are left.
They say Ali went to the hospital after the fight I can believe that he took a lot of body shots and low blows, but I'm pretty sure Chuvalo went too because he took a lot of clean head shots every for fifteen rounds
Beating some one in the side and winging the left hook and getting beat in the face for 15 rounds makes you tuff but it doesn't win fights.Ali took Formans body shots for several rounds.
I wonder that I see Bundini Brown. The history says, that he was suspended till the comeback in1970, but I`ve seen him since the Terrell fight in Feb. 1967. As often, the history lies.
I think there was some juridical technicalities that had to be navigated through, but yea I've read that too. Many times. Just don't remember exactly how he got around it
Chavulo one of my favourites fighters.
My second favourite next to HURRICANE. I got his autograph signed to me as well. My prize possession.

Ali's core strength was insane. Even Foreman's best body shots weren't a problem for Ali.
This was the first time Ali tried the ropadope

High quality for you, Keith. 🥊🥊
Chuvalo is a tough fighter but i've never seen such an amount of low blows during a fight, and the referee doesn't mind

@@briand4763like Jesse Willard for example that can go down as the worst in the history of boxing

214lbs was heavy for the time.
How the heck was Ali taking those body shots. Too tough.
No tough is George Chuvalo.
Tough is also Ali agreeing to fight Georgie Boy.
Great fight
