But my thought is how can you vote for somebody who's up for so many trials and at the criminal level. It makes no sense how can you expect that person to perform as the lead of the country

The voter turnout in the USA in 2016 was about 60%. In 2020 it was 66%. If Americans have a collective brain worth spit, the turnout will reach the hoped for target of 70%, or even higher, to ensure that the country doesn't have to suffer another four years of Trump. And, just maybe, those who effectively select presidential candidates in future will ensure that younger, more capable people are found. At almost any other time in history, the present Trump would have been unable to exceed the first rung on the ladder. If he is re-elected in 2024, America has surely lost its way.
