I am fond of the Old Spice and Brut also like English Leather they all bring back memories of my child hood.
Great shave with the Old Spice. Old Spice was my go to soap in the late 70's and through the mid 90's and a sad day when they discontinued it.
Good evening Paul! Love the Lily flowers, thank you Mrs. H! The Shulton Old Spice shaving soap is very good. It is my opinion there is something about the pH level (possibly Alkaline) that makes it soften the whiskers like no other soap(s). Agree, very slick indeed. Age doesn't seem to effect the properties of the Old Spice soap much at all. My example is 73 years old. Even the old fashion scent is there; reminds me of my Grandfather. Yes, apply some Rizla to that weeper...for Dad. Yes, the vintage Old Spice soap, cologne, and aftershave has a much richer scent and has a longevity on the skin. The modern offerings are just less. The closest aftershave to the original is India made Old Spice. Not sure what my New Year's Eve shave will be. I am keen of using the Karve CB all brass razor with the C-plate. You have given me inspiration to use my Old Spice. Oh, that Old Spice aftershave does burn like...heck. Happy New Year Mr. and Mrs. H. Take care.

Yes i remember the old late 70's Henry Cooper advert "Give Bruit 33 on the 25th", i always preferred Old Spice though "The mark of a man".
Fond memories of watching my grampy shave with the Shulton Old Spice soap and AS. Oh how I wished he had hoarded a bunch. I recently ordered your brush not even knowing it was your signature brush. I just wanted the cashmere knot with the classic long handle.

Nicely done Paul💈💈 Nothing like vintage Shulton Old Spice for a reminiscent shave to close out the year. Using your dad's Slim Twist is a testament to it's ability to work as it did all those years ago. The flower arrangement is bright and beautiful to say goodbye to this year and hello to the next, thank you Mrs H for your continued artistic charm as always. I shave on New Years Day, so SOTD is the last for 2020, nothing special: Proraso "Green" Pre/Pro/Post shave, a green badger brush, Timeless Bronze razor w/SuperMax blade, alum, witch hazel and Nivea to finish...Nice. It's Wednesday night here in the States, and I watched your video after doing my SOTD. Unintentionally I used Chiseled Face Tradewinds soap, which was made on an Old Spice scent base, and I used an Old Spice aftershave, so I got the feel for your shave a bit more tonight. I loved the toilet paper. That was a good touch🤣.

New Year's Day 2021 shave! I'm a Straight Razor wet shaver (every other day) and honer. But today I used my vintage open comb travel model. Very satisfying and somewhat relaxing shave (3 passes, no weepers), with an alum block swipe and a witch hazel finish and Nick's shave balm finish. Cheers!

I definitely agree with you on the vintage Old Spice Paul. The Classic in the plastic bottle is near to the original scent but still not as good as the Shulton.

The 31st is my 42nd birthday so I was planning on doing something similar for my shave. I'm going to use stirling spice in an old spice mug with old spice aftershave. I wish I could get the old school old spice, just to smell it once. Happy new year paul, mrs. H and the meow meows. I hope 2021 treats us all better.

A nice, sentimental, shave. My Dad was an electric shaver during his later years but his favorite aftershave was Old Spice. Like your Dad, he always received his Old Spice as a birthday or Christmas gift. Wishing you and Mrs.H a very Happy, Healthy, Safe, and Prosperous New Year.

Using Palmolive and Old Spice exclusively: sounds really nice; there are worse circumstances in life. My mother passed the first week in July, but my father passed the second week in November, the anniversary of which is not too long back. The razor I associate with him is the mid-1960s Gillette Tech, which I use sometimes in his memory. A while back, on your recommendation, I picked up a made in England Slim Twist, which in light of this video, I'll make a point of using shortly after New Year's. The next time this channel features a mid-60s Tech, perhaps one might give my father a thought also. A happy and fulfilling New Year to all.
Well interesting this video was to me. This year I started shaving with safety razors and watched a lot of your videos.
I inherited my father’s shaving supplies. He died in January 1969 but Old Spice cologne and after shave I use because it reminds me of him. But what was interesting to me here is this year I went to use his razor but it was all corroded and rusted inside so I threw it out. I regret that now.
But that razor was the same model you used in this video. You called it the Gillette Slim Twist. Well now I know what model it was so thanks for that.
Hi Paul nice to see the older items my Dad used unfortunately he died when I was relatively young and all the Shaving stuff got thrown out regretfully. I used Brut in my young days but when I smell the Brut and Old Spice on sale now they don't smell how I remember them.

I’m not that old (40) lol, and I remember my Grandfather wearing Old Spice. I’ve got the shave soap and aftershave. The soap performs like no other. My wife says I smell like an old man when I wear the aftershave. I prefer Aqua Velva though.

Spectacular end of the year shave, good sir! It doesn't get more classic than Shulton Old Spice. It was also my late father's favorite, along with his Gillette Fatboy and Shulton Boar shave brush. Thank you Paul. I only started DE Shaving this year and it's a "connection" with my late Dad, so I really appreciate all your comments about and references to your Dad. My Dad certainly used Old Spice (none of that new-fangled Brut stuff) after-shave, but I can't remember what soap he would have used. Happy New Year to you, Mrs H, Alice & Millie.
Same here, started during this year's lockdown and has been a revelation and joy during this period. I hear myself repeating a phrase my Father would say..."That was a fantastic shave today!" Enjoying the products both vintage and new and thoroughly enjoying this community. Keep on enjoying!

Good shave Paul! Floral display is stunning as always!!! My SOTD will my Gillette Slim Adjustable 84 with a Gillette Platinum blade, Kensurfs Winter Edition Badger brush, Mitchell's Wool Fat soap, Irisch Moos Aftershave and Cologne, and some L'oreal Men Expert Birch Sap Balm to finish up the shave. Meal of the day is very simple, just some Chicken Parmigiana with some Angel Hair pasta, garlic bread sticks, and marinara sauce. Have a wonderful day, and ring in the new year right!!!

My mom tossed the soap "because it looked so old", kept the mug....and a brush (thought it was boar, but now maybe it is 1st gen synthetic as I can't get it to be nice". They belonged to my dad BUT I was the only one that started and used it in the 80's. It's amazing how we now have a plethora of expensive soaps, but are they really that much better than this one..... Good luck for the coming year, stay safe. Now I need to use Old Spice....will see if I have a new one....

We aren't doing anything for the New Year. We are just cooking some BBQ, and hanging out at the house. Don't know what my first shave of the new year will be, but it'll probably be Old Spice Shulton.

Gillette slim adjustable i4 (1963 same as me). Wilkinson sword blade. Alum block. 1st use of Shulton Old Spice aftershave. A big thankyou from me for the past year. Cool! If you haven't used the Old Spice soap yet to preserve the embossed pattern if you want to... Just an idea I picked up from Mark at Friendship shaving channel. Shave some soap off the bottom of the puck of soap and lather that. Keeps the soap intact. Same here I recently got a boxed 60's mug with soap, as much as I like using vintage I want to try to keep it looking pristine...dilemma I know.... but not much of one!

I saw that Gillette TTO on ebay for about 20£. And I saw on ebay in the U.S a simalar one as yours,but it read Gillette Made in England P2 and the handle was black and much thinner!

My grandfather used Old Spice After Shave, even though he used an electric shaver. I never really cared for the scent much.
New Years Eve? I was thinking lamb chops, but steak sounds tempting too... I just might shave the beard off for New Years. I received a Gillette "The New" short comb in good nick, which should work nicely for taking down a beard, with sudsy Soapery shaving soap I have yet to try (Lemon Rose Chypre), wizamet blade I think, Myrsol Emulsion as a preshave, Sterling balm unscented with menthol after, the trusty Semogue SOC Badger brush.
