  • With so many amp sims it's easy for guitar players to spend time trying every amp sim to dial in a good, usable metal tone.
    Here are the settings you can start with. Remember, these may not be perfect for you but you can always change them later! This is just a good starting point.
    Gain: 5-6.5
    Bass: 4.5
    Mids: 4-6
    Treble: 6-7
    Presence: 4-6
    We really hope this video helps you get a better metal tone from your amp sim, regardless of which plugin you're using!

    One thing I like doing is setting the EQ's at noon and just checking out the different cab IRs until I find one I like and then tweak from there

    I usually roll my bass down to about 2-3, mids at noon, treble at about 7, presence at noon and i started rolling gain down. I use a gate and 808 in front to tighten things up.

    I'm working on a metal song at the moment that my friend's uncle wrote in the 90s and I've really worked hard in writing the music in 2018 and now that I have a home studio I want to record and make it sound professional and I'm still working on finding the right tone and I'm not sure if I can make it sound professional with plugins, I've tried different plugin like the ampire in studio one, amped roots and guitar rig 6 and I haven't found the perfect tone they all sound cheap ... I've tried cutting the high end and low end and put compression and saturation but it still sound cheap.. please give me suggestions ..

    Very well put together video! But you might want to either throw a seizure warning at the start of your videos or redo the graphic so it's less likely to trigger a seizure
    I used to think that the exposure had to be prolonged, but it turns out that it doesn't take that much
    My new girlfriend forgot her meds and we passed a building that had a failing light, I was driving, but suddenly she wasn't responding to me and I looked over and she was having a seizure (she gets absent seizures)
    So anyway, just food for thought

    What do you think about setting the bass where it sounds good on its own and then EQ'ing the bass out of the guitar track in the mix but leave it set on the amp?

    • @metalmastermind
      @metalmastermind  3 года назад

      For plugins, that would work. Because you can adjust the settings of the plugin at any time. If you were recording a live amp, you'd want to make sure your amp settings are catered to fit the mix.

    • @Vagen_d
      @Vagen_d 3 года назад

      @@metalmastermind but I’m talking about applying eq to your track after it’s recorded when your are mixing. Could you leave the bass in your audio recording for the track and then apply an eq to the track from your DAW to pull the bass out of the guitar track.
