  • In this video I visited the clan jetties from Penang. Clan Jetties are unique wooden stilt houses that were established by various Chinese clans in the 19th century. Each jetty represents a different clan. The jetties in Penang are very famous amongst tourist but mostly people only go to the most popular jetty. I decided to start my tour from the least popular jettie where people still live a normal life and there's no tourism infrastructure.
During my walk around the Jetties I had my first nutmeg juice from a very friendly lady. It tasted surprisingly much like Coca-Cola, maybe the secret ingredient?
To end the video I had some delicious hokkien prawn mee at a local hawker stall.

With my RUclips videos I aim to show a different perspective than what most travel vloggers would do by interacting with people and really getting the local insights of the places I visit. No matter their social background I treat everyone equal. Sometimes this results in awkard conversations but I love it!
**Support my channel and the people I meet**
All donations will go back to the communities during my travels, this can be through staying or eating at small businesses or even donating this money right back through one of my donations projects.

In fact, the place where worship is performed at home is not called a temple, but a Hall of worshiping/ Worship ancestry hall, the place to worship ancestry.
A temple is a public place and a place for worshiping gods or people who have contributed to the local area.
From the notice board 18'04", we can know that the floating village was built in the mid-19th century, and the residents came from Tong'an County, Quanzhou, Fujian Province, China!
The first area is 182 meters, the second area is 122 meters, and there are a total of 75 houses! Visiting time is from 9 AM. to 9 PM.!
Thanks for sharing such a beautiful day, super great job! 👍🥰🙏
P.S. Love this video and Tim's channel. He has some really great travel videos and has always been great.
Of course, he is also very talented in providing travel information. I hope more people watch Tim's videos.

There is AirbnB in these clan jetty where you can rent. Early Chinese immigrants built their houses because in early days the British exempted them for land tax since they are not built on the the land

Tim's curiosity about the lifestyle of the residents is commendable. I suggest the Penang state government and tourism stakeholders station foreign speaking local guides at popular tourist spots on the islands to enrich the visitors' experience. Pensioners, college students can be roped in for the job. No doubt tourism arrivals to the island will increase, boosting tourism revenue for the state

Interesting walk through the different jetties. The nutmeg drink has a rich source of antioxidants. The prawn mee is certainly yummy and I really like the way you pronounced the name of the drink in your foreign accent Tim.😂 I do agree with you that the wooden chopsticks are easier to handle but you are doing a job though so far.Yes I absolutely enjoy your vlogs no doubt it.👍Your legend!💕🇲🇾

You really visit Khoo Temple that is at the Armenian Street area. All the temples in that are are have a lot of of histories about the early Chinese immigrant that settle in Penang. Iam from Penang, migrated to Sweden, every time I visit Penang I visit these places. Never fail to amaze me of the things I fail to notice when I walk around those ancestor temples on my previous visit. The main idea of these ancestor temples plays an important role for the different clan ( a place to meet up and a place fpr refuge when they first reach Malaya from China
