That was ace mate! Brought it all back how horrendous that weather was. Definitely one to remember. Loved the water on the lens and Emily’s thoughtful presents. You’re a good lad and dad! Al
Stumbled on this by coincidence - I was just up Red Screes this evening and it was pretty brutal. If you want an exposed spot to wind-test a tent you could do worse! But if things get out of hand the retreat down to the pass is quite dangerous, particularly in winter. There was a very nasty accident there recently. So please do take care. The route down the ridge towards Ambleside, on the other hand, is gentle and relatively safe with great views of Windermere and Grasmere. About 90 minutes up, 60 minutes down for an average walker, so a nice little trip when you are tight for time.
Mate that was tough going. The weather was horrendous, but you both made light of it. You’ve got to do another camp, hopefully with calm weather and you can get the drones out. Top job guys kudos 👍
I’m looking forward to this! I’ve never had someone else’s perspective. It was a brilliant night though and I’m looking forward to the next (dry) one!!! Al

Absolute classic mate, great test for kit, really nice to see Al and Blue on your vid, ya both did well considering the conditions, throughly enjoyed that thanks for sharing Chris 👍🍻
Wow! What crazy weather you both had. Nice to see Alan and Blue. I'll be checking out his vids. Glad you both made it safe back down the mountain in the hurendous weather. Keep safe ⛰️🗻 ⛺ 🏕️ 👍😊
Spot on chaps, I always enjoy a good stormy camp and atop of my favourite mountain too. Al and Blue seem top, glad you guys had a great time. Can’t believe that’s the first time I’ve seen the Kirkstone Pass Inn empty mate 😳. Top video Chris 👍
Absolutely Steve - was a testing one - all good fun, half the battle in those conditions is mental - just get on with it and have fun I say - thanks for watching.
Cracking video that. Exactly the reason right there that I’ve just indulged in a Soulo. I love the idea of being cocooned in there with the weather lashing at the fly sheet. We’ll Done for keeping the camera rolling.
Bit windy to have your flaps open like that. And yes, definitely don't "baby" the gear otherwise you never go out. Look after it, care for it, use it, clean it, but don't leave it bubble wrapped in the cupboard. It's a bit like having booze and not drinking it.
I was eating organic ol9ves here in Aussie land, looked up and you were eating olives... bizarre...lol! No one eats olives when camping, well, in videos for some reason. Even survival type YT channels surprisingly... A staple I am considering for my own adventures outdoors in near future. Good video! Thanks to you both. And Bluey.
I do enjoy these videos where you have more challenging weather conditions. I should imagine it's some type 2 fun for you guys 🤣 I'd be interested in hearing how you got on with the jacket as I've had my eye on one for a while. Great video as always and great colab👍
Alright Benny mate, was a good laugh! Can't wait for a few winter storms and will be hitting the hill then too. Jacket is good so far, I was soaked on way down, so was Alan with a 400 quid ME Lhotse on - in conditions like that, you're getting wet no matter what eventually. I'll be doing a full review on the RR trousers and jacket very soon mate.
Thanks, yeah it was brutal up there but good fun. Blue is ace! I can have a dog if it doesn't moult, but I work full time so wouldn't be able to as I live on my own! Maybe one day.
Thoroughly enjoyed the video Chris, some nasty weather that! Love watching Bushman as well, I'm off to Brothers Water next week , I dont mind the rain but that was a bit much !
Thanks pal, we had it planned for a while so whatever the weather, it was happening 🤣 was a good laugh and with the right gear, it's all fine. Thanks for watching and enjoy your Lake District trip mate.

Jeez that's hardcore camping if I ever! Great to see you,Alan & Blue out together..the dog genuinely did look to be enjoying himself 😂..one things for certain those two tents are both made for such conditions & they came through the trip well & truly proven..can you even imagine camping up there in a 2 or 3 season tent in that weather? Mid summer you would think you'd be fine but getting caught in that with lesser quality gear you'd be up the creek without a paddle to put it politely..life threatening for sure..thanks for taking us along on another brilliant adventure ⛰️🏕️
Thanks Andy - was certainly a good test for the gear - some tents may have struggled I guess as it was an exposed pitch - but made for a very atmospheric camp - ATB, Chris
@@MCMOutdoors How you finding the Revolution Race gear Chris? I seen you had one of their jackets on,i've been buying quite a bit of their gear of late & I'm fair impressed with it
Good to see you back out in the Soulo in some testing conditions. Enjoyed the collaboration, always nice to see a well behaved woofster exploring the outdoors with their owner. I haven't been out for a camp in 6 or so weeks due to a relapse in my mental health but hoping to pack the kit and get hiking soon
Absolutely brilliant video mate . Wind, rain, everything that makes a great wild camp, or even a great walk. I bet you were both glad when you eventually got back to the car. Personally, I'd have stayed in the pub, LOL All joking aside, it was a cracking video and it's obvious you both had a great time regardless of the weather. Just a shame we can't get the dogs perspective on the trip :)

wow that was a windy one! loved that shot of al on the walk up where the camera was wet, looked really cool! glad u left it in. Curious to know, did your boots stay dry? went on one last week, was head toe soaked on getting in the tent!
Great experience and another great vid. Looks like the same day I attempted "the old man". Only got to brown pike from walla crag and then realised I'd forgot my suncream. Weather from the west coast was horrendous. Could hardly see the route so made the decision to head back down. Might have been different if I was with someone. Anyways, no shame in pulling out. It'll be there tomorrow. Think you might have to get that bear some waterproofs though or convert a drybag into a bivvy.🧸
What a mare. I could see you were dying to stand out having a bit craic with al. Bloody summer. Roll on winter. Less rain I’m sure. Still made for an exciting vid mate. Well handled on the rocks of terror and the clag of death. I’m like you also. Let the fit lads go on ahead 😂 enjoyed it all the same. Onto Als version next with a nice hot cuppa in my cosy front room. Of doom 👍
Wainwright always said to go at a slow pace and enjoy the views - so that will do me. The clag of eternal doom set in all camp, so did the cliffs of death - but we managed to blag it and piece together some footage. Forgot how good the Soulo is to be fair, what a tent. Thanks for watching mate.
Tremendous mate, very enjoyable to watch 👌 I done Red Screes at the weekend but still have to edit the video, the weather was horrendous but fantastic at the same time 😀 I watch all your videos but only comment now and then, would love to meet up with you for a little hike sometime, although my channel is a bit daft to be honest lol 😆 anyways class video bud, all the best Chris 👍
Love this video, most of all how weak you both look(humans)compared to the dog who was always waiting on you, now the bear was the star, I’ve been happily accompanied by a bear for some years now in the woods and travelling abroad, will post some pics of Cody on the MCM page, he will tell you his name once he knows you. atb Chiefy
So Chris is that Revolution Race gear any good ? They say much about the technical side of things on their website. Does it stand up against the bigger brands ?
There's something cathartic about watching human beings pitting themselves against the elements and it reminds me of that adage " When the going gets tough - the tough get going ".Upside to everything - you didn't need to don the mozzy mask mate.Cracking yomp in the Lakes and all 3 of you ( sorry 4 - mustn't forget Ted ) survived to tell the tale.Does Ted have a name BTW ( i don't mean his/her name is BTW,BTW ! ).Padmasambhava kind of rolls off the tongue quite nicely ? Lovely gift from Emilie and as Alan said " Nice lad, nice dad ".Think she should find a name for Ted ? This is a reminder of the impact of not having a name - ruclips.net/video/zSAJ0l4OBHM/видео.html
Thanks for watching guys - Emilie told me his name was "Kisses" because she had given it lots for me - so that will be it! Was a great camp in some torrid weather, but cannot beat being in the tent whilst nice and warm with all that going on outside! ATB, Chris
Never touched alcohol in my life (sixty years old) and do not understand the necessity to mix alcohol with wild camping. But heh we are all different and as long as it does not impede decision making which could lead to an accident (especially walking up dead man's edge), all is fair in love and wild camping eh.
Great video. Enjoyed watching you guys out in that awful weather... meant I was at home in the dry... hooray! You may both be awesome at adventuring and wild camping but you are both terrible at spelling names! Al's name is ALLEN not ALAN and Al you've put EMILY... it's EMILIE . You're welcome ;) Keep up the awesome work boys Xx
Hahaha! We're men! We need women to help with these things and I'm single so I have an excuse! Thanks for watching Nicola, I'm looking forward to ALLEN'S video (note correct use of apostrophe 😉). Was great to meet Al, he's a top bloke - must have been good knowing how battered we got when you were nice and warm! Looking forward to Al's vid now - cheers 👍🏕️
@@MCMOutdoors this properly made me laugh 🤣 duly noted your correct apostrophe use 👏👏👏 yeah I now understand why Al said he was too wet to camp the next few nights. Those conditions looked AWFUL! Rather you than me! 🙈🤣
What is it about Brits that they won't share a tent with their mates? Even in homophobic America, we share tents, and if it's really cold, we bunk in together with sleeping bags. Doesn't mean you're doing the dirty, ya know.
Thanks for your comment Allen, unfortunately I fail to understand how a 28 minute 42 second video about wild camping isn't about camping because my friend happened to take a dog with him. Maybe the film Titanic isn't about a boat sinking because Jack and Rose undertook some naked sketching in someone's car; hopefully nobody else applies your logic in life. All the best 👍

Boots were soaked! Pants wet through - most would - so just ran down legs into boots. Had to pour out the water when got back to car 😂💦👢
Nice 1 Chris love bad weather wen i set up... Alan n blue dogs channdl is great too 👍👍👍👌🏕🏕
Good stuff Craig, this was relentless. Vid doesn't do it justice! Alan is a top bloke mate. ATB
I went passed that pub last week on my motorbike bloody awesome place it was 30c that day😂😂
Two week ago actually.....
Cracking place for a pint mate !
Great videos, can I ask you what mic you are using with the gopro ?
Thanks Pierre - it is a rode wireless go - thanks for watching.
@@MCMOutdoors we use same setup then 👍
Great choice - works very well.

Yeh I bet love your tent Chris it’s awesome 👌cheers G
Great experience and another great vid. Looks like the same day I attempted "the old man". Only got to brown pike from walla crag and then realised I'd forgot my suncream. Weather from the west coast was horrendous. Could hardly see the route so made the decision to head back down. Might have been different if I was with someone. Anyways, no shame in pulling out. It'll be there tomorrow. Think you might have to get that bear some waterproofs though or convert a drybag into a bivvy.🧸
Decision to turn back in bad weather is always the right one! Trust the old instincts I say! Thanks for watching mate!
Crazy sods I’d have been like feck this and booked into the pub and sank a few gallon ! Just shows how hardy the soulo is 👍
Haha, yeah was rough mate! Had to be done though 😁
I tried the Black Widow after you had it last time, tasted it didn’t like it so I downed it in one.Smiling for about an hour after though.
Haha! Same here! It's not nice - but draws you back for more!
👋👍
👍
Ace!
Cheers Sammy!
Cracking mountain isn't it mate! Thanks for your comment pal - ATB
Good stuff lads. What was the problem you had with the Abisko Chris?
He said the inner had a couple of pulls forming small holes. Mine is fine though. When you spend that money it needs to be perfect though!
Cheers
@@BUSHMANandBLUE Cheers mate.
Yep, tears in a new inner - twice!
@@MCMOutdoors Shame that. I've got the abisko. Looking forward to your next vid 👍
Love this video, most of all how weak you both look(humans)compared to the dog who was always waiting on you, now the bear was the star, I’ve been happily accompanied by a bear for some years now in the woods and travelling abroad, will post some pics of Cody on the MCM page, he will tell you his name once he knows you. atb Chiefy
Thanks pal - glad you enjoyed it and thanks for your comment. ATB, Chris
Wow that is wild ! Top video pal ,how do I support the channel with a coffee? 👍
Cheers guys - glad you enjoyed. There is a link pinned as the top comment! Also a link in description. Thanks v much 😊👍🏕️
So Chris is that Revolution Race gear any good ? They say much about the technical side of things on their website. Does it stand up against the bigger brands ?
Stay tuned for a full review of both the jacket and trousers mate 👍
@@MCMOutdoors looking forward to that one pal 👍😎
It must be a good coat you've got if it kept you dry. My t-shirt is always wet when I am wearing my coat in the rain. What make of coat is it?
Cheers Karl, was a silence proshell jacket by Revolution Race, full review coming soon 😊
As Donald Glover once said.. "feels like summer" 🤣
😂😂😂
ATB, Chris
@@MCMOutdoors Yes i think that's a smashing name Chris and comes with lots of love too !
😊❤️😊
What jacket were you wearing plse Chris?
Silence Proshell by Revolution Race mate - full review coming soon!
Never touched alcohol in my life (sixty years old) and do not understand the necessity to mix alcohol with wild camping. But heh we are all different and as long as it does not impede decision making which could lead to an accident (especially walking up dead man's edge), all is fair in love and wild camping eh.
It's not necessity, it's a choice. Thanks for watching.
What's your mates vlog called?
Busham and Blue mate 👍 think I left a link in description 👍
@@MCMOutdoors cheers
If those areas belonged to germany, the german government would have already polluted them all with wind turbines.
What is it about Brits that they won't share a tent with their mates? Even in homophobic America, we share tents, and if it's really cold, we bunk in together with sleeping bags. Doesn't mean you're doing the dirty, ya know.
Hi Amanda, I've often shared tents over the years. These are one person tents.
I made it to 4:43 and had to stop. It was supposed to be about camping ... not your damn dog!
