The starwheel is amazingly beautiful, even more on the wrist.. This aventurine dial with the black ceramic mid-case and black discs make such a great mix. They make the wandering hour quite romantic imo
I have the lacquered blue chrono 11.59. At first, I didn't understand it, but after taking ownership of it, it's a breath of fresh air. The slight details such as the octagonal sides pays homage to the royal oak. After wearing it, I see it as more of a modern hybrid dress/sports watch. Doesn't have to be categorized as a dress watch. And to all the 11.59 owners -- kudos to yall!
These are fantastic watches. Updated dress watches for a modern time. I kinda feel like much of the hate is that they are not traditional like a Patek, VC, or Lange. If i had the money these would certainly be on my buy list
The issue with the code 1159 is that the 3-layer case construction while having the octagonal mid-case that creates limitations on reducing the case thickness. When we talk about dress watch, or semi-formal watch, sub 10mm case thickness in 39mm width is preferred. The positioning of this watch, somehow smart casual i will say, is a bit difficult to gain support from either sport watch or dress watch fans. I think AP needs to re-evaluate the positioning of code 1159. However, after the Re-Master 2 introduction this year, it is somehow a good, new product category that AP can work harder on in the future.
Code owner here & I didn’t even buy it to get an RO either, not everyone can like the same thing & it funny the hate that these models get cos if the celebs & sports people start wearing these & the gray market pops then all the flippers will start their frenzy, slate these all you want but I seem to recall you could pick up a PP Nautilus from Costco at discount & AP RO & even PP aquanauts were not sought after, regardless I purchased mine to wear & cos I actually liked it ref n.o 15210BC.OO.A002KB.01 😛
Great review! Most people with a negative opinion about the Code have never seen one in person or tried one on. IMO, it’s a great watch collection that still maintains the DNA of AP’s commitment to watch making and aesthetics. It is definitely not a Royal Oak substitute. Wait a couple of years and the naysayers will be the first ones to say that they loved the offering all along 🙄
I suppose the RO impression on people has made it hard for AP to be innovative. If it was another brand that came up with code 11.59, I'm sure the views maybe different. But kudos to AP for trying to bring a different style to their signature RO, so that a variety of customers can enjoy their watches. IMO, I think AP also wanted to let people into their waitlist by having customers first purchase the code before they are offered the RO. This move also helps AP secure certain part of the watch market. Though people dislike the idea of spending to be in the waiting list but then again if everyone were able to just waltz in and buy their products then I'm sure the hype will die down and people won't appreciate their watches as much 😅
I believe that the biggest flaw is the very thin bezel which leaves a very big dial , its weakest angle is from the top view angle , otherwise the case design is great .
Though thebCode11.59 didn’t hit the road running , but I think though it may never hit the highs of the Royal Oak or Offshore but it will have it’s niche in the market
I love this watch, it just suffers from 'It's not a Royal Oak.' and that's not me saying it, but it's just the way it is. I didn't even know there was a two-tone precious metal, that thing looks beautiful. Commented before I saw the Universal. It looks a bit undecided, but it could just be the leather strap. It's sporty in nature, but the tourbillon, the date and indicators kinda make it sort of 'Grand comp'ish', idk. Looks nice, but I think it needs the sporty, woven strap in black, imo.
For starters the "code 11.59" name is just horrible in my opiniuon. The watch itself is not that bad looking, however all that said if the Royal Oak didn't exist but since it does I'm not interesed at all in it. Not mention that it doesn't hold its value
When you compare these dress watches to old dress watches from AP, you understand how much AP is disrespecting their fans and customers. It’s a lazy watch to say the least. They could have shaved at least 2-3 mm off the thickness of this watch before they can demand such prices for them.

I must be an oddball because I would rather have one of these than the RO.
Liked the Code ever it came out. I know I am one of the only ones but I still like them

This watch is a stunner on the wrist which is pleasantly surprising! I just picked up the Code Starwheel a few weeks ago!!

The new dials make a huge difference. They’re good looking watches in person.
Amazing video. Im glad to see you guys evolving, showing more of the watches and great b-roll footages. The knowledge + the good images is unbeatable
Great presentation with your trademark contagious passion.

Excellent video!
They are wonderful. Bought the blue steel chronograph and it is outstanding in its design. A much more interesting watch than the Royal Oak.

Great story sir. Merci
Pretty cool to see other AP models being talked about❤

The need to craft an extra thin 11.59 is bound to be just around the corner

Would love to have seen more of the MR Supersonnerie
You're owned, paid and bought by the brands, your opinion is what AP says it is.

3 problems:
Too thick, diameter too big and no bracelet available.
Great Video of a great watch!! 🎉🎉
What are your thoughts on the Starwheel? Thinking to purchase one but not sure since is double the price of other codes.
Ap makes nice watches but i dont particularly see them as beautiful watches. They are really nice looking watches. Patek makes beautiful watches
Celebrating five years of the collection nobody wanted
I seriously doubt you’ve ever gone near one of these. Except the Time & Date models, they are actually decent.
@@UserKR13lol why? U next on this list and need to lick balls ? Lol
Opinions are like assholes… yours stinks pal 😂
@@UserKR13 Pictures don't do it justice. Not until I saw and tried one on in person.
Feels like a QVC sale
AP without royal oak
sorry, codes are just weird. shoulda just updated the JA/EP.
You can some codes for 50% off retail no one wants these
@@shaqfufu8908 show me one for 12k which would be 50% off the list of the base one

Bring us the Code 11.59 Hulk Tourbillion Marvel Collaboration.
If it’s not a royal oak it’s trash

I just want my royal oak at list price thats it
11.59 or ROO is your entry point at the AD. Or just try to leave your name down for the RO w/o it, might just take a little longer
11.59 is the most expensive toy I've ever seen.
11.59 is an overpriced joke
AP code is dogshit mate. Be honest
Its just the same as a Moser or a Parmigiani. I kinda like it. Not the cloth straps though.
You can have your preference or opinions it just doesn’t mean we have to agree with it !
