Fantastic beasts, I live next to the old Consett branch in County Durham, you could hear the 37 double headed iron ore trains labouring up the 1 in 35 stretch at Annfield Plain for miles, sweet sound. Incredible that there's still some in service 57 years after the last one was built, subbed...

Cheers Allen!!, that would have been some sound and it etches itself into your childhood , I was the same growing up hearing the oil trains , I’m really glad there’s so many of them still surviving today , thanks for the sub mate 👍

Sorry Peter yeah I was really disappointed myself , really questioning whether the diesel gala at Christmas will be worth it now 🥴

Must be so boring sitting in a train on this railway. What is the point ??
    5 & 10 mph, quicker to walk.

Loads of subsidence lately with the rain at the start of the year , only way to get decent thrash now is with a 7 coach set with a loco on the rear 😤
