I hope you have a wonderful time in Texas, I have never been there , but they say “everything is BIG in Texas” enjoy your trip 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 nice coins and yes I am jealous of your ring things! Texas is a large state. In eastern Texas it is forested and green, but as you go west, it becomes desert. Texas does have a coastline, which is to the south. It depends on where you are going in Texas as to the conditions to dress for. Much of West Texas is rural with cotton fields and cattle ranches. Texas is also dotted with oil wells, and you will see oil pumps bobbing their heads up and down. Dress most often in those areas would be casual, with jeans and shirts. They often wear boots, usually cowboy boots. Some of their boots can be quite fancy, with different colors and textures used in the leather. They also have the typical broad brimmed hats, mostly worn by men, but sometimes women wear them too, particularly in West Texas In the winter there is snow, so a jacket will be helpful. Summer is hot and dry. The people of Texas are very friendly and easy to make conversation with. East Texas is more humid, particularly in summer so light cool fabrics in summer are best. Along the coast you would want to wear what you would wear to any coastal region in the summer. If I were you I would look up on line the temperatures and climate for the region you are planning to visit.
Great to see you back! We missed and we are "over the moon" to watch you find treasure!! Thanks for the fun and have a great day! Texas in late April/early May can be in the low 80's (26 C) during the day and in the 40's (33 C) at night.

My partner is from El Paso (but now lives in Colorado!) and he said “remember, Texas is the size of Europe, it’s a huge place with a very diverse climate, so it depends on which bit you are visiting!”

It's defo a keyhole face plate with a keyhole escutcheon that flaps down to cover the keyhole, then can be pulled up to use as a door handle if you know what I mean.Shame you didn't find the other half!
This time of year you can plan on it being either very warm or suddenly a bit cold. I find layers to be best so you can add or subtract as needed. They have a saying here don’t like the weather wait twenty minutes it’ll probably change. I live 70 east of Dallas.
That ornate thing you found is obviously the escutcheon plate and latch knob for a very large treasure chest. The square shaft operates the latch mechanism. Now get back there and find the rest of the treasure chest and what was inside 😂 Bye the way that's one of the nicest ring things I've seen in a while 👍
In 23 days it will be 30 or warmer. You will want your cap most likely. Short sleeves are ok but if you burn easily sunscreen is a good idea. There might be rain be ready. Everything here will either bite you stick you or prick you. Lots of snakes here so keep an eye out. There may be mosquitoes by then. A lot will depend on weather we are in tornado alley. Good luck and good hunting.👍♥️
