Absolutely, you can continue working until a decision is made. Make sure that you submit your extension application before your pgwp expires. You will get a notification letter about it too that you can work continue working after you submit your application.

Hello Gmae! Thanks for the video. Can you let me know why the answer to question 3 is “Apply for a work permit with the same employer”? The guide on IRCC website did not explain the 4 options that are available.
Hi dear, the reason why we answer “Apply for a work permit with the same employer” because you have applied initially already for pgwp. You can’t tick off the one that states for the first time because that is only for the first time application. You can’t answer the Restore your work permit because that applies only to those permits that are expired already. I was advised answering “Apply for work permit with the same employer”, means you can still work to any employer since pgwp is an open work permit and it does not necessarily mean that same employer means one employer. Our permit is not work specific or closed work permit.

Can the PGWP extension (due to prior passport expiration) be applied outside Canada? I am confused because the application form generated for the application (IMM 5710) lists the current place of residence as 'Canada' which can not be changed. I can not reach out to IRCC as well since the number can be reached only within Canada and the email response was generic. Specifically, Should I be submitting the IMM 1295 (applying work permit outside Canada) or IMM 5710 (applying for work permit in Canada applicants) form when applying for a post-graduate work permit extension (due to prior passport expiry) while residing outside of Canada?
I have a question regarding the passport that needed to use in this case. Since I'm applying to extend my PGWP due to my old passport expiration date, does that mean I need to use a renewed passport with a new expiration date on it to fill up the form? Thank you in advance.

Hi 👋 Negative effect, I don’t think so. Once you have the initial pgwp the study permit is no longer relevant for the extension.

Is that the question in the eligibility questionnaire? I did answer student. However in the form it is a different. Please watch my video guide on answering eligibility questionnaire as it is the same questions and answer in applying for your extension due to passport expiry. Hi GMae, I was reading online the extension due to shorter expiry should be done by paper and mailed to IRCC. Did this help you to get the approval. I am just doing it t just for the heck of it now as I am waiting for my ECOPR. Thanks in advance.

You mentioned about Letter of Completion and Transcript. I have two questions.
Letter of completion is same as Degree Certificate?
Transcript sent from my college mentioned that if the sealed envelope is opened then it will be considered as unofficial transcript. Is it find to upload transcript with this kind of mentioning on it?
Also, I wanted to ask about flagpoling option. Do you recommend flagpoling option as my passport expiry is reaching soon.
Hi dear @vijaypatel thank you for your constructive feedback. Letter of completion is a letter from your school it is not the same as degree certificate. You need to ask your student services about your completion letter. You should received it first before the diploma or certificate.
Flagpoling is good but I don’t recommend due to you will miss the duration of waiting time. If you wanted your pgwp result fast flagpoling is good but you will miss the opportunity to get that extra 3 months of duration of processing. In general there’s an advantage and disadvantage of doing flagpoling. ☺️

Since your initial PGWP was of a shorter duration, did they left any remark on your initial PGWP? I am reading online that you need to have a remark to extend your PGWP if it was issues for a shorter duration due to earlier passport expiry.

@@tarandeepsingh6468 last year both online and paper were the same in terms of processing times. If it’s faster on paper now, I’ll leave the decision for you take. I’d go with paper as they are claiming it is faster based on the website.

Hi dear follow this guide. Below is the link. Once u are done, follow the imm5710 guide in this video. Applying for extension due to passport expiry is similar to applying initially for your pgwp, that’s what I have mentioned in this video and what I did as well to get approved.

Hi there! A completion letter and transcript of records should appear as part of your document checklist that’s weird that it didn’t appear on your end you might try and check again your eligibility questionaire and how you answer it.
To y'all scrolling through comments, I applied via paper and just recently got my confirmation via email that it's been extended and I am to receive my new PGWP via mail within 6 weeks.

What if I can't follow the 30days before the expiration coz im waiting for my new passport (just few days I think)?
@gabbatac try to do a follow up on your passport if possible to get it asap. The important thing is as long as you received your passport and applied for your pgwp extension (before your current pgwp expires) then you are safe. If due to circumstances your passport haven’t arrive and your pgwp expires already I recommend to call IRCC to seek guidance about it especially you might fall under restoration of your status. Please call them prior, not when you already have expired PGWP.

These two answers need to match. Check the answer on your PDF form and:

May be you can clarify the confusion: on imm5710, at section 3 for "I am applying for one or more of the following", should I choose 'Restore my status as a worker' or 'Apply for a work permit with the same employer'? I thought the second option is for employer specific work permit instead of open work permit. Thanks again for your time!

Your country of citizenship should be india and passport issue still India.
