HI there, new to your channel. I have a question. My course is 8 months +1 co-op term. Does that equate to 1 year or 1.5 year pgwp? My grad letter says 1 year full-time but is there any way to fight my case with IRCC to issue me a longer PGWP. I have not begun my co-op term yet FYI. Please provide some advise.
8 months plus ung coop or practicum is equivalent to one year. Expect that you will received one year pgwp. I’ve known some that there are one in a million cases where they graduated for one year and obtain a a 3 year pgwp I guess they are just very lucky. With your case, you just have to wait from IRCC what will be their decision. But expect the usual and standard policy that one year program is equivalent to 1 year pgwp.

But they gave me a letter of work authorization allowing me to work until March 7th 2023. My question is: can I continue working given the March 7th has passed? To be precise , in the letter it is said that I am permitted to work until March 7th, 2023, or a until a decision is made on my application, WHICHEVER IS FIRST. what does exactly this mean? Does it mean that I am allowed to work until I recieve my PGWP? Thanks
You are allowed to work until the decision is made or until you receive another letter on your gckey that your pgwp was approved and on it’s way for delivery. It happened to me too, I received my pgwp approval August last year but I have the letter stated that I can work until July first week (last year) or until a decision is made on my application. You are implied status now, so just continue working until you receive an update or decision. As soon as you received your approval renew your SIN and your healthcare provider too (Medicare here in NB).
My open work permit and my Pgwp is about to expire what can i do to remain in Canada and work? can my spouse apply as an international student to come and study, and I will apply for open work permit to work and support her? Thanks
