Japanese trains are pretty reliable and fast so living outside of the Central Tokyo shouldn't be too much of a hardship. It would be nice to have a bit of outdoor space though, even just a balcony you could sit out on, have a few plants. One thing I always loved about small apartments is that they're a breeze to clean up, takes little time.
I lived in Nakano and now I live on the outskirts of Kawasaki, and I gotta say, life outside of Tokyo is the best! I love to visit, but living in Tokyo was stressful AF! Now I feel like I can breathe again! While it does take me longer to get to central Tokyo now, it's well worth the piece of mind.
That is very true! I have family outside of Tokyo so I know how nice it is to get away from the city from time to time! It’s so much more peaceful and the prices are way better!😂
There are so many better "outside of Tokyo" places to show off. I'll be living in Japan soon and you literally have UR apartments that go for 500 dollars a month and have 646 sq ft or more, with 2-3LDK in decently sized cities that are 45 min to an hour away from Tokyo by train. You literally have apartments that could house families with 2 kids for 500 dollars a month (+ utilities) that have supermarkets, shopping malls and easy train access to Tokyo. Yokohama is cheaper than Tokyo but its price is only slightly better as it's one of the most popular places to live.
Wow, those prices are both so wonderful. Apartment costs where I live is 3,000 on average. If it was these prices, I'd be able to move out pronto. If I had to choose, then I would pick to live in Tokyo. I don't like any form of commuting, and therefore I feel that it's most beneficial to be in one's desired location.
Subscribed, the video was really cool 💕 I would've liked to see what the neighborhood of both was like, the access to convenience stores or supermarkets, etc...
Not bad for those just starting out. In Chicago area you wouldn't be able to find an apartment for that price anywhere even an hour away from downtown. The guys were entertaining to listen to, so it made the video fun to watch.
Geez and I thought Hong Kong Apartments where small! In my experience of Urban living I tend to like to be closer to city center but it depends on my work base and where the social dance spots are located. I have a lot of family who travel to see me often so I usually like to have a place that more than one person can comfortably stay. If I did live further out I would want to be right by the train station. If I ever moved to Japan my goal would be to find an older apartment that was larger and closer to downtown.
Cool video! It would be good to see a comparison of more like a grown folks 2LDK style apartment. I’m having a hard time finding accurate info despite using chintai and suumo bc when the rubber hits the road you never know if those apartments even exist. (Or whether they’ll allow evil evil gaijin.)
I would love to watch you guys and check some helpful information about japan. Wants to go there this year. I hope you'll give me some tips. Loveyouuguys. Godbless
Is it safer to live in the city center or outside tho? I personally wouldn’t choose the city cause it’s too crowded for me but was genuinely wandering what other differences there are 🧐
Japan is honestly really safe wherever you go! Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be careful but I’ve never been worried about walking alone at night time in Japan!
I would probably live outside of the city, just because I personally am not a city type of person. But great prices for both places! not like America lol
I feel that! It can get really crowded in the city here so if you're now a crowd person I'd definitely recommend staying outside of the city haha. but thank you for your comment!!
So one could live very cheap in Tokyo. The apt is very small but it had more amenities (washer is good) than most single apartment in the U.S. The cheapest studio or one bedroom unfurnished apt in the U.S. in a decent area cost as much as $2,000 a month and up
@@japanwonders8571 Center Tokyo by soon I mean around this time next year waiting for a few more things to be verified. I have been looking for a apartment to live at and your video really caught my eye this is something Ive been looking for
The shower head was on the wall! Idk if it was hard to catch but if you watch it again the whole bathroom works as a shower room so you can get the floors wet in there
If you tried to spend this little for a place in DC or newyork everyone would laugh you out of the city. A place like that in the city in the US would A:not be as nice, and B: would cost a minimum of $1,200 USD.
$500 for more space, and ride the train into the city for anything else. Please explain why the apartments do not have dryers for laundry? Everyone uses the balcony - and I guess the launderette in wintertime. Thank you
If u life out of Tokyo is more cheaper, the location is far of train station or low income people lite there. Tokyo apartment is very expensive because is business area. If u go to Japan all the area is country side, only Tokyo is very busy city.
Honestly, the price range in Yokohama and outside of Tokyo is affordable. I lived in SF and renting one room apartments are $2k/month. Do you know if you can put wallpaper up?
Hey man, first time viewer and pint rider here. I’m moving to Japan in March! What was your flight process like with the onewheel? And do the police bother you often?
I actually bought it after I moved to Japan! I honestly don’t ride it too much so I’ve never been stopped by the police but I have seen somebody Uber delivering with a one wheel!😂
But is 800 a month not cheap for an apartment in Central Tokyo? or just in general, i mean for a capsule it is normally the same as what you pay for that apartment per day, 25 usd, if not more
I guess it’s not crazy expensive but when I paid $800 for a place in Florida I had a pool, living room, kitchen, bedroom and a lot more so compared to that my place is really small now😭
sure....if you live 200 miles from city centre, and near the border. Not to mention constant worry about getting shot while waiting at a stop light. No thanks
Id want to live in a popular place, since I'm black. I asked my mom if we could try to move there and she said she would if people of color didn't get so many stares 😭

That’s trueeeee I do like how easy it is to clean a small apartment!
You missed about the cramped traveling in Tokyo trains? Sometimes it's not worth traveling so much.
The room is very clean for both of you
