@30:56 - Jon forgot to take points before ending the game. This one looks really fiddly and repetitive, and even though it's short, seems to go on after the interesting bits are over. I think it might be worse at the max player count. I think the castles would change hands more often, and the state of the game would be very different by the time it got back to your turn, making it feel very capricious.
Ha, I can't believe I missed out on those 4 points and didn't even notice while editing. Yeah, a very fiddly game, we did have fun with it though I'm not sure how much of that was because of the game itself :P
My level of excitement for this series is higher than it has any right to be. I played Saga at 2 and 3. It definitely worked better at 3 but it is one of my lowest rated games. Really disliked the pointless back and forth. Thanks for the play. I'm not changing my opinion on it.😊
CORRECTIONS:
30:56 - I FORGOT TO TAKE MY POINTS!
Literally choked laughing at Anastasia saying “That’s gonna need a bleep” I am loving these “Dusty old euro” videos.
Ha, yeah. I'm pretty sure she is the only one who has made me bleep things on JGG so far :P
This has been collecting dust on my shelf for 20 years. Thanks so much for letting me see it in action!
That points rule was the greatest and funniest rule I've ever seen in boardgaming.
Agreed!
I LOVE these types of playthroughs so much!!
I bought this game when it was released and only played it once.
Going to get it to the table soon. :)
I remember this game when it was released 😀 i played Tikal and Puerto rico at that time.
you guys rock. Keep up the good work.
What a surprise 😂 I bought it about 20 years ago as it was on sale and I have not played it yet.
No idea if this video would push you to play or toss it :P
Yay, dusty old Euros are the best. :)
Taj Mahal and Goa are my favorites.
Taj Mahal is so good, I don't own a copy but that'd be a nasty/fun one to film for sure.

Could Jon have used the Purple's ability to get points for his final card rather than having it be worth nothing from being an attacking force?
The only thing better is if Jon had a camera on their faces when Anastasia swore
XD
My greatest weakness is forgetting to take the reward and missing out

"it's fine"
How many "I"s were in that "fine"?
Is what me and my wife say
20 years is NOT "super old"!
